FRANK ZAIA
Frank Zaia, 78, of 317 Erie Street,
died Monday in Lee memorial
Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Lipari, Italy, Mr. Zaia
had resided in Fulton most of his life.
He retired in 1950 after serving
as owner nd operator of the Hotel Fulton, located at Second and Oneida
Streets for many years. He was a licensed real estate broker.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rosaria
Zaia; four daughters; Mrs. Ross (Frances) Mirabito, Mrs. Phiilip (Nancy)
Monforte, Mrs. Mary Castorina, and Mrs. Harry (Catherine) Shultz, all of
Fulton; two sons, attorney Thomas F Zaia of Oswego and Anthony B. Zaia
of Liverpool; grandchildren and great grandchildren, his step mother Mrs.
Catherine Falanga of Fulton; a brother, Pasqual Zaia of italy and several
nieces and nephews. His first wife, Mrs. Anna Cincotta Zaia, died
in 1918.

Widow Of Frank Zaia Dies in Nursing
Home
MRS. ROSARIA ZAIA, 76, widow
of Frank Zaia of 317 Erie St, died late last Monday in the Beadle Nursing
Home in Oswego after a long illness.
Mrs. Zaia was born in Italy but
had resided in Fulton most of her life. She was a communicant of the Immaculate
Conception Church.
Surviving are two stepsons, Attorney
Thomas F Zaia of Oswego and Anthony B Zaia of Liverpool; four step
daughters, Mrs. Ross Mirabito, Mrs. Phillip Montforte, Mrs. mary Castorina,
and mrs. Harry Shultz of Fulton; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren;
two sisters, Mrs. Anthony Quino of Canastota and Mrs. Jennie Arcadi of
Fulton; a brother, Feliz natoli of Norwich; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 8:15 a.m.
Thursday in the Young and Son Funeral Home and at 9 am in the Immaculate
Conceptionm Church were a solemn high mass was celebrated.

Obituaries
Jane V. Zaia
Jane Vincent Zaia, 85, of 2545 S
W. Terwilliger Blvd., Portland, Ore., formerly of 38 E. Seventh St., Oswego,
died Wednesday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Westbury.
Born in Phoenix, she graduated from
Crouse-lrving Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at
Fort Ontario's Safe Haven in 1944. She was a volunteer with the American
Red Cross blood bank and the Children's Aid Society, former chair person
of the American Cancer Society and former district leader for the Girl
Scouts of America. Her husband, Thomas, died in 1991.
Survivors: Two daughters, Cynthia
Z Beraud of Portland and Elizabeth Z Dorman of Westbury; two grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren Services: 11am Wednesday in Faith United Church,
Oswego. Burial, St. Peter's Cemetery. No calling hours. Dain-Cullman Funeral
Home, Oswego, has arrangements.

Nancy A. Monforte
Nancy A. Monforte. 90. of Rochester
Street. Fulton, died Friday at Sunrise Nursing Home, Oswego. She
was born in Fulton. She retired in 1992 after 15 years at Mirabito's
Market. She was a communicant of
the Church of the Immaculate Conception and a member of the Catholic
Daughters. Her husband. Philip, died in 1992.
Survivors: Two daughters. Mary Ann
Myers of Camp Hill. Pa. and Anna Pederson of Fulton; a sister, Catherine
Z. Shultz of Leesburg. Fla.: seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Services: 9 a.m. Tuesday at Young
& Son Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Burial. St. Mary's Cemetery. Fulton, Calling hours. 5 to 8 p.m. today at
the funeral home. 322 Oneida St.. Fulton.

Phillip S. Monforte
FULTON — Philip S. Monforte, 89,
of 100 Rochester St. died Sunday at Oswego Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Sicily, Mr. Monforte resided most of his life in Fulton.
He retired in 1979 as custodian
with the Fulton School District and previously operated a muck farm in
the Fulton area. Mr. Monforte was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate
Conception and a member of the Fulton Senior Citizens. He also was a
member of the Italian-American Club
of Fulton, where he held several offices.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; two
daughters, Mary A. Myers of Harrisburg, Pa., and Anna Pederson of Fulton;
a sister, Josephine Grasso of Sicily; a brother, John of Sicily; and several
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday
in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Spring burial will be in St.
Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at
Young & Son Funeral Home, 322 Oneida St. Contributions may be made
to the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
