Constantia Center Cemetery

Constantia Center Cemetery

This cemetery is located on Panther Lake Rd, Oswego Co., NY.  The cemetery list was copied by L. S. Abrams, Rome, Oneida Co., NY in 1937, from the records done by the Fort Stanwix Chapter, DAR, Rome NY.  It was contributed by Kathleen Teague).  Kathleen is researching the surnames of:  Butler, Smith, Brodock, Knickerbocker and others of Oswego Co.
****

I was visiting in the Central NY area and had the opportunity to visit the Constantia Area.

I took many pictures in the Constantia Cemetery and Bernhards Bay Cemetery and transcribed many tombstones that were related to my genealogy.   These tombstones were not included in the transcription of the Constantia Center cemetery or Bernhards Bay cemetery list.   I've attached the names and dates for each.

My name is Pat Luttrell and I've been researching Vanderwerken, Coant, Hanrahan, Phillips, Hendrick, Shears, Burton, Dunn, Winn, Cook surnames in the Constantia area.

7/21/04My grandparents are buried in Constantia Center Cemetery, Lot 46, behind the Independence Baptist Chruch. They are in unmarked graves. I remember their burials, and have the deed to Lot 46.  They lived across the street on Panther Lake Road. Looking at the front of the church from the street it is to the right.  They were:

Loke, William Edward   b. January 1874 - d. 12 May 1950
Loke, Anna Charlotte (Farquharson)  December 1878 - 1951.

In the 1917 farm directory page 103 their names were misspelled as Lake instead of Loke.
I am attaching a copy of a school picture taken 1950 (possibly 1951) at the Bernard's Bay school house -- a two room school with three grades in each room. A school bus route ran from Constantia Center to the school.

I have been interviewing a lady at our church who is 97 years old. She was a Webb from Oswego Co. I don't know if this will help but there are two mentions on the current sight and I wonder if this info. could be added to help clarify their names. Mary Kolodziej
