In Memory of Nancy E.Searles: One June 7, 2004, Nancy E. Searles, Town Historian for New Haven died after a two-year battle with cancer. Nancy was a member of the Scriba Historical Society, Mexico Historical Society, Oswego Historical Society, H.L. White Marine Museum, Oswego Co. Genealogy Society, served on the Board of Trustees for Scriba and Mexico Historical Society, Delta Kappa Gamma Women Educators International (DKG), twice President of MACS Faculty Association, retiring in 1994,and on the Central School Board of Education since 1999, Member of Central N.Y. School Boards Association, and New Haven Town Historian since 1980 and she wrote and printed several historical pamphlets. Parish Town Historical Society (From Mary Lou Guindon) The former Oswego County Historian, Barbara Dix will be a guest speaker on Wed., April 14 at the Parish Town Historical Society meeting at the Mills and Petrie Memorial Gymnasium 2938 East Main Street Parish, beginning at 7 PM. Barb was an Oswego county employee for 12 years and has served on a variety of boards around the county. She is an interesting person with tremendous knowledge of the Oswego County history and genealogy. "Genealogy is so interesting because it's such a mystery to unravel, it's a good puzzle and you're never really done," she said. "You get to learn so much when you're researching your family tree."
