Fri Nov 8 13:27:19 1996 Looking for ancestors of Dorcas BACON , born possibly 1802 in (possibly) Connecticut, died 1836 in Hamilton. She married Leander EDGERTON before 1832, when their son Luman was born at Pompey, Onondaga Co. This Dorcas Bacon doesn't appear to be the one mentioned in the other query in this category! (She's not the daughter of David Bacon and Betsy Wilbur, this is a different Dorcas) I am wondering if she was related to Joseph BACON and Mary BUNCE Bacon, who migrated to Onondaga County from Connecticut perhaps in the early 1800s. Both this family, and the family of Leander Edgerton, were from Simsbury Conn. Joseph and Mary were both born around 1752 so Dorcas might have been a grandchild. Descendants of: Dr. John Bennett ca 1750 to 1790 Phila Co PA>Dauphin Co PA>Cayuga Co, NY. Sons and daus intermarried with Richardson and Harris families. James Bennett m Sarah Richardson 16 Apr 1792 Herkimer Co, NY Wm Plunkett Bennett m Elizabeth Harris Vance (Cayuga? Seneca?) Joseph Richardson m Mary Bennett. Most of this comes from a "History of a branch of the Richardson Family," by David Thomas ca 1860. Joseph Richardson and several of his brothers and families migrated to IL. Wm P and George Bennett moved their families to IL. There are Harris familes but have no connection to the NY clans Same is true of the Thomases and Thompsons. There are however many NY state connetions here and I hope to connect with other researchers of these early Central NY founding families. They all moved sometime after 1782 to the present counties of Cayuga and Seneca where they operated mills and ferries across the lake, later constructing the first bridge across the lake. Sun Nov 10 19:33:47 1996 I am doing research on the Brink family. They lived in Syracuse in the early to mid 1900's, as best I can determine. Maude Vincent Brink was the daughter of Jay or J. Brink . They lived on the southside of Syracuse. Maude married Wallace Carlyle Hickok and was widowed. She later married William Hicks. Wallace was the son of Myron Hickok and Martha Carlyle. He had a sister Laura and brother Jay. All lived in Syracuse during the time period mentioned above. Wallace and Maude had three sons. Myron Burnett Hickok, Wallace Jr. and Bruce. Myron Burnett married Lilian Colwell and had four children. Marily and Marion (twins), Sally Ann and Myron Burnett Hickok, Jr. Wallace was employed for many years at Syracuse U., in the athletic dept. and was followed there by Myron who worked at Syracuse until his death in 1958. Herkimer County, NY abt 1831. He is my GGF. He was living in Oswego Co.
NY in the 1850-1860
Census. He married a Rosetta Davis in 1849. She was a daughter

Simeon Davis and Elizabeth Stewart of Onondaga Co.
NY. Sanford
and Rosetta left Oswego Co in 1864 and moved to Clinton Co, MI. I do
not
descend from her, Sanford remarried in Michigan in 1873 to my GGM
Madora

Sanford married Rosetta Davis on July 29, 1849 in Granby Township, Oswego Co, NY and lived there until 1864, when they moved to Clinton County, Michigan. Tue Oct 15 03:30:20 1996 Warren Brown 21.years old .Federal Census 1860 shows him living in Village of Jordan, Onnondaga Cty. married witin the year to Phebe?. 25 years old. 1870 Fed. Census has him in Elbridge Village with Jennie Brown 32 years old and an 8yr old girl name unreadable and a 9 year old girl but Phebe was missing. The 8 yr old was born in Michigan but the 9 yr old was born in NY. I have not been able to find anythin on Warren since. The nine year old named Hattie could have been his daufger from Phebe and she possibly could have died previously. I am looking for Warren and the last name of Phebe. I need a decendant of Warren. Harvey D had 4 children: Sarah Mary b 1841 m. ? Thompson, Louise b 1842 m Hubbard Manzer, William Harvey b 1845 m Sarah Emily Bonter b 1845, James b 1851.
William H and Sarah E had 4 children: Harvey D b 1869 m Mary Louise Dudley, Clare Louise b 1871 m William Sanderson, Edith Mary b 1882, William Howard b 1886.
Clare Louise and William Sanderson had 3 children: Winifred Burrill 1892-1958 m Albert Fisk Nichols 1921, William J 1894-1967?, Harvey D 1904-?.
Winifred B and A Fisk Nichols had 2 children: Clare Elizabeth 1920-1990 and Eugene Fisk 1926-1995.
If anyone can provide additional info I'd be most grateful. I know that Harvey D. Burrill (the more recent one) was editor and publisher of the Syracuse Journal in the early 1900's. All of these people lived in the Syracuse/Geddes area. Thanks.
