Dies; Stricken
While in Car
Oliver L. Liddell, 56, Western-
ville, died at 10 o'clock this morn-
in the Rome Hospital.
He was stricken yesterday while
driving his car in Rome and taken
to the hospital. Death was due to
a heart condition.
Born in Syracuse on Dec. 26,
1891, he was the son of Clayton
E. and Luella Miller Liddell. In
1916 he married in Auburn, Mer-
tice Dabinett, who survives.
Mr. Liddell came to Rome in
1931 and had been foreman of the
commercial printing department of
the Rome Sentinel Co. since that
time. For the past 10 years he
had made his home in Western-
ville. In 1941 he was Republican
candidate for supervisor of the
Town of Western.
He was a member of Auburn
Lodge, F&AM, and of Utica Club
of Printing House and Craftsmen.
Mr. Liddell was of the Methodist
faith.
Surviving besides his wife and
parents are two daughters, Mrs.
Eleanor Monnier, at home, and
Mrs. Margaret Grogleth, Chicago.
