W.H. FLUM, City Aide, Is Dead - William H. Flum of 141 Willumae
Drive, assistant superintendent of public buildings and widely known in
local Republican political circles, died last night at St. Joseph's Hospital
after suffering a stroke.
Mr. Flum was chairman of the First Ward Republican Committee
and a member of the Pastime Athletic Club, the Syracuse Turners, G.S.I.O.C.
social club, the Oneida Lake Assn., the Civil Service Employees Association,
the Holy Name Society of St. John the Baptist Church and of the First Ward
Republican Club.
Mr. Flum was a native of Syracuse and a son of the late Edward
C. and Caroline Koagel Flum.
He was appointed assistant superintendent of public buildings
by Mayor Mead Jan. 1, 1954 and had under his supervision the care and maintenance
of all city buildings.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Pickhoske Flum; two daughters,
Karen E. Flum and Linda A. Flum; a brother Grant G. Flum and several nieces
and nephews.
The funeral will take place at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Keegan
& Osbelt Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m.
today and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
