Deaths. At his residence in Manlius, on Tuesday morning the 12th
inst. Col. Milo Bird, aged 38 years. The deceased was a highly valued
citizen, and his loss will be severely felt by the neighborhood in which
he was an ornament. He has left an amiable wife and a large circle
of friends to deplore his loss.--Com.
Deaths. At Eagle village, in this town, on the 23d inst. Mr.
Moses Mills, aged 85. Mr. Mills was a native of New-Hartford, Litchfield
county, Connecticut.--He entered into the service of his country, in the
old French war, and passed through the wilderness, up as far as Detroit.
He again, in the revolutionary war, enlisted as a soldier in defence of
the cause of freedom, and fought the battles of his country against their
oppressors. And what was of far greater consequence, to himself he
early enlisted as a soldier of the cross, and exemplified through a long
life, the happy fruits of the faith which he had embraced. --Com.

Died. In Jamesville, on Tuesday morning, the 8th inst., Henry
G., son of Eli L. and Christiana Stillson, aged four months and twenty
days.

The short-liv'd beauties die away."
At St. Croix, Nov. 14th, of an intermitant fever, the Rev. William J.
Bulkeley, former missionary at this place, aged 44 years. Our Church
is deprived of another of her valuable missionary servants. Mr. Bulkeley
left this country about three years since on account of ill health, and
sought a more congenial climate in the island of St. Croix, where he took
charge of the English Episcopal congregation; and under improved health,
faithfully prosecuted his zealous labors till a week before his death.
On the Lord's day, Nov. 7th, he administered the Holy Communion to his
flock, consisting of 400 communicants, and on the next Lord's day he was
called to receive, we trust, the reward of his labors, that rest which
remaineth for the people of God." It was his intention, we learn,
to have returned to his country to spend the remainder of his days; but
God saw fit to order it otherwise. Endeared to his friends and acquaintances
as a man, a Christian, and a Christian Minister, he will be remembered
with affection and lamented with deep regret.
Died. At Jamesville, on the 19th inst. Mary Jane, only daughter
of Isaac W. Brewster, Esq. aged about six years.
Marriages. In La Fayette, on the 22d inst., by the Rev. S.
J. Porter, Mr. Cuyler Cooper, of Jamesville, to Miss Mary Hine, youngest
daughter of Elkanah Hine, of La Fayette.
Died. At his residence in Cazenovia, on the 29th ult., Mr.
Youngs Ledyard, aged 55. Mr. Ledyard was among the early settlers
in this village, where he resided for a number of years. About twenty
years since he united himself to the Protestant Episcopal Church, in this
village, of which he ever continued a faithful member, exemplifying in
this life the meek, the quiet, the peaceable, and the unostentatious fruits
of that faith which he had embraced, and adorning in his daily course the
doctrines of his holy profession. In truth may it be said that from
among the more humble walks of life, and in "the simple annals of the poor,"
the best examples are found, and the most useful lessons of instruction
are derived. Let his brethren endeavor to initiate his virtues.--Com.

Died. At Fayetteville, Manlius, on the 25th inst., Mr. Thomas Starr, Aged 47. It is due to the memory of Mr. Starr, to say that in his death his afflicted family have suffered the irreparable loss of an affectionate, kind and tender husband and parent--the inhabitants of Fayetteville, an enterprising, liberal and benevolent neighbor and friend--and the town of Manlius one of her most valuable citizens and public servants. In all the relations of life, whether for his family--in society--in private or public business, his character was uniform. To be acquainted with him was to respect him--to know him intimately was highly to esteem him. He died of a lingering consumption, which confined his near four months, and which he endured with remarkable composure, patience and fortitude. His future hopes were based (to use his own expression) on a reposing trust and confidence in the mercies of God, through the merits of Christ; and he was resigned.--Com.

At Charleston, S. C. whether he had gone for his health, on the 10th inst. Jeremiah Everts, Esq. of Boston, Corresponding Secretary of the American Board of Foreign Missions, and author of the celebrated article under the signature of "William Penn."
At Cazenovia, on Thursday last, Dr. Jonathan Silsby, aged 44 years. Col. Nathaniel Rochester, terminated a long, useful and honorable life, in the village which bears his name, on the 17th ult. All classes of citizens united in paying respectful tributes to the esteemed, intelligent and liberal founder of their enterprising and prosperous village.
At Canajoharie, in Montgomery Co. on Thursday last, Mr. John M'Vean, editor of the Canajoharie Telegraph, in the 31st year of his age. Possessing fine acquirements and a high character for probity and the worth, his loss, not only as a citizen, but as the conductor of a public journal, will long be felt and deeply lamented.

In the city of Washington, on Wednesday evening last, lieut. Joseph R. Blake, of the N. S. Navy, aged 25 years.
In Colebrook, Conn. Hervey, son of Mr. Justus Bradley, aged 12. His death was occasioned by eating some crackars which were prepared with arsenic, and laid in the loft of the building, for the purpose of destroying rats.
In Washington, Ga. Mrs. Sarah Hillhouse, in the 70th year of her age. For many years she conducted the editorial and mechanical departments of the Monitor, formerly printed in that place, although she had not acquired the art of printing until she had reached the age of 45.
At Detroit, Judge Trumbull, author of M'Fingal, aged 81 years.
On the 8th inst. of board the schr. Humming Bird, Col. John Brooks, of Ashtabula, O., owner, was knocked overboard and drowned, aged 47 years.
In Lunenburgh county, on the 9th ult. the Rev. John Philips, at a very advanced age. He died while on his way to a neighbor's at whose house he expected to preach the glad tidings of salvation on the approaching Sabbath--nor was his aged companion, who was in a gig with him, conscious of his situation, until her attention was called to it by a traveller.

Died. At Watervale, on the 24 inst. Mr. Ansel Judd aged 45 years. In the death of Mr. Judd, his afflicted family have been deprived of a kind and indulgent husband and parent, and the town of Pompey has lost one of her most liberal & enterprising citizens. As a neighbor, he was kind and obliging; as a friend, warm and generous; and, in short, he was "an honest man the noblest work of God." His illness was severe, but he bore it with a fortitude seldom equalled; and his hope of a glorious resurrection and a blessed immortality was based on the never ending mercies of a Divine Redeemer, who has promised everlasting salvation to as many as repent and believe in him.
In Pompey on Friday, the 2d inst. Mrs. Cintha Butler aged 54 years.
Died. At Avon Springs, Col. William Gardner, of this village,
aged 69 years. The remains of Col. Gardner were brought to this place
for interment, and followed to the grave by a large concourse of mourning
relatives and friends.
A few weeks since on his homeward bound passage from the coast of Brazil,
Charles E. Moseley, Esq. aged 25 years late of Whitesboro son of Mr. Charles
Moseley of Ann Arbour, Michigan, and formerly of this village.

Died. In the village of Syracuse, on the 1st inst., Mrs. Amanda, wife of Col. Elijah Phillips, in the 42d year of her age. Mrs. Phillips was the grand daughter of the late General Danforth, of this county, and was the first white child born in it. Of mild and amiable manners, and possessing in an eminent degree, all those virtues that adorn the female character; and surrounded by an extensive circle of family connextions, and numerous friends and acquaintance, Mrs. P. had ever enjoyed the esteem and friendship of them all.
Inheriting from her grand sire, a benevolent disposition, which was fostered by his example, it was in this respect--in the dispensing of charities, and in the giving of alms, that she shone most conspicuous. Not satisfied with relieving the wants of those who solicited charity at her door, she sought out the poor and afflicted in their lonely retreats, and there, with a bountiful hand, administered to their wants.
After suffering from a severe and lingering disease, which she sustained with christian fortitude and resignation, for nearly two years, she died, universally lamented; leaving as a consolation to her bereaved friends, a pure and spotless character, and the christian's hope.--Com.

illness she was not heard to utter a single murmur or complaint, but expressed
herself entirely prepared for that great and important change which we
must all sooner or later experience.--Com.

As a woman, she was amiable and agreeable; as a companion, affectionate and pleasant; as a mother, kind and tender. After having lived to a good old age, beloved and respected by all who knew her, she has finally bid her fond companion, her beloved children, and a numerous circle of relatives and friends, an affectionate farewell.--Com.

by all who knew her--she calmly reposed in death, with a firm and unshaken
confidence of a blessed eternity.

At his residence in Phelpstown, Ontario Co., on the 14th inst., Mr.
Richard G. Cuyler, formerly of Pompey Hill, in this county, in the 33d
year of his age. The premature death of this excellent man--cut off
in the flower of life, has cast a withering shade upon the best earthly
hopes and joys of his family, and has produced general mourning throughout
a large circle of relatives and friends, in whom, his virtue, and a life
of generous and useful exertion, had inspired for himself, the most sincere
attachment. The high estimation in which his character was held,
is confined to no particular class-all who knew him, testify their regret
at his early removal from time to eternity. He possessed, in an eminent
degree, every intellectual and moral quality, necessary to a correct discharge
of all the duties of life, in its various relations. To a disposition,
naturally amiable & generous, and a good, cultivate understanding,
he united a sincere regard for religion, and lived under its practical
influence: through a protracted sickness, this heavenly principle
was his solace; but especially was it triumphant, to that solemn hour,
"when the clustering symptoms of dissolution, proclaim that all is love."--His
remains were conveyed to the village of Aurora, for interment, in the family
burying ground of his father, Glen Cuyler, Esq.; followed by many neighbors
& friends, who mingled their sorrows, with those of his afflicted wife
and relatives, at the loss of one so much, and so deservedly loved.--Com.

Died. In this town on the 4th inst. of a lingering consumption, which she bore with christian fortitude and patience, Miss Dorasina Gardner, aged 23 years. The death of Miss Gardner will be long and deeply lamented by the circle of friends and acquaintances in which she moved, and of which she was a bright and shining ornament. To her afflicted and mourning relatives, the loss is irreparable; but still they have the consolation of thinking that she has left a world of care and sorrow for one of never ending bliss. The day before her death, at her request, she was permitted to testify her faith, by receiving the holy symbols of the body and blood of a crucified Redeemer.--Communicated.
In New-York, on the 19th June, of consumption, Miss Ann Eliza Miller, aged 18 years.
It becomes my duty to inform you, that the Cholera has made its appearance
in the north part of this town. The first case was John Mickle, aged
14. He returned from Albany on the 24th ult. and landed at Kirkville
with prominent symptoms of cholera, as reported by Dr. Willson. On
the 30th, his sister, aged 25, who had attended upon the lad, was attacked
with cholera at her mother's, near Mathews mills, and died in about 16
hours. No medical assistance was had within the first 12 hours.
At 9 o'clock in the evening after the termination of this case--Mrs. Mickle
was attacked, and although for a day or two hopes were entertained of her
recovery--I understand she died yesterday morning. On the 2nd inst.,
Libius Foster, at Kirkville, aged about 29, of intemperate habits was attacked
with cholera and died in eight hours...These, it is believed are the only
cases of Malignant cholera that have occurred in town. There have
been a few cases of common cholera which have readily yielded to treatment...Wm.
Taylor, Health Officer. Manlius, August 4, 1832.
Died. At Syracuse on the 10th inst., Martin M. Ford one of
the Judges of Onondaga Common Pleas. He was first attacked with the
cholera of which he partly recovered, and relapsed into a fever which he
survived but a few days.
Doctor Shipman has reported to me a case of Cholera that occurred at
Kirkville, on the 4th inst. The patient was Mrs. Hoag. She
has recovered. I have also understood that a man by the name of Austin,
died at the same place, on the 7th. He was attacked with cholear
the evening before, and expired at 8 A. M...Wm. Taylor, Health Officer.
Died. At Syracuse, on the 18th inst. of Cholera, Doctor Jonathan
Day, aged about 34. Doctor Day had been a resident of the village
eight or ten years, and had sustained the reputation of a scientific and
judicious practitioner of medicine and surgery. Amiable in his disposition,
gentlemanly in his deportment, and learned in his profession, he had obtained
the confidence and esteem of the public, and the cordial friendship and
respect of his professional brethren, with whom he was associated in this
county.--In whatever had for its object the improvement of the profession,
and the interests of the medical society, to which he belonged, he was
ever found active, zealous and efficient. To his character as a gentleman
of professional and literary attainments, are added the higher and more
important qualities of pure morals and sincere piety. The death of
such a man, in the prime of life, and in the midst of usefulness, is at
all times a public loss. It is peculiarly felt as such in this instance.--Com.
On the 25th of July last at Dover, Tuscarawas county, Ohio, of the cholera,
Mr. Stephen Gould--for the last few years a resident of this place.--The
active zeal of Mr. Gould in the cause of truth, will long be remembered,
and his early death lamented by those who have at heart the interest of
the Redeemer's Kingdom--particularly will his loss he felt in the Sabbath
School; but he is gone--his work is done, and well done--"Blessed are the
dead who died in the Lord."--Communicated.

Died. At Salina, on the 11th inst. of Cholera, Mrs. Sally L. Yelverton, aged 43; wife of A. Yelverton, Esq. of that place. In the death of this amiable and excellent woman, her family have been deprived of one most deservedly endeared to them--the church and society in which she belonged, of one of its most useful and valuable members. She was formerly a resident of this village, and by her well known piety and devotion as a christian--her uniform benevolence of feeling and action, as a friend and neighbor, had endeared herself to all with whom she had intercourse. While the cholera was raging at Salina, although of feeble constitution, and but just recovered from an attack of fever, she resisted the importunities of her friends to leave the place, deeming it her duty to remain and minister to the wants of her suffering neighbors, trusting in God, to protect her from the disease, or remove her by death, as to Him it should seem best. When she found herself attacked with cholera, she calmly and peacefully committed her soul to her Saviour, and her family and friends to the keeping of that God in whom she had so long trusted.

Whitbeck, aged 21 years, daughter of Mrs. C. Fredenburgh, of this place.
During her residence here (nearly two years,) her amiable deportment and christian example, was such as peculiarly to endear her to all her friends and acquaintances. While at Rochester, in the year 1830, she became a hopeful subject of the renewing influence of the holy spirit, and openly espoused the cause of her Redeemer, by a profession which she has since evinced a desire to honor. While languishing under a distressing and protracted illness, which she bore with uncommon patience and resignation, she was uniformly able to testify of the value of the Christian's hope.
Her warnings and admonitions to her associates, to seek the Lord while in youth and health, will long be remembered with emotions of interest. Death to her was disarmed of his terrors. Her dust reposes with its native dust; but her spirit is joined, as we trust, with that holy assembly, and church triumphant, which surrounds the throne of God, in singing the praises of redeeming love.
A numerous circle of friends deeply sympathize with her afflicted mother and brother, in this dispensation of the providence of God.

Died. In this village, on Sabbath evening last, Mrs. Persis A. Williams, wife of Mr. Silas Williams, aged 28 years.
In all the relations of social life, Mrs. Williams never failed to exhibit those qualifications which are so peculiarly the ornament of her sex.
In her Christian profession, she was sincere and devoted--as a wife and mother, amiable, kind and affectionate--as a friend and neighbor, frank, warm-hearted and benevolent.
All who enjoyed the pleasure of her acquaintance will deplore her loss,
and deeply sympathize with her afflicted husband, and other relatives.
Married. In this village on the 28 inst., by the Rev. Mr.
Smith, Mr. Elijah Tryon, to Miss Ruth Walker, all of this place.
Died. At New-Harmony, Indiana, on the 8th of September last,
Hon. James O. Wattles, in the 50th year of his age, formerly a resident
of this village. Mr. Wattles was born at Lebanon Conn, 1783--He came
to this village when quite young and engaged in the practice of Law.
In 1821 he removed to Indiana, where he was honored with several civil
offices, and became a distinguished member of the Bar. As a private
citizen, he was beloved and esteemed by all who enjoyed his acquaintance.
Many were the friends of his early years, who can now sympathize with his
relatives in the loss of an amiable and virtuous man.-Com.
Married. At Fayetteville, on the 2d inst., by the Rev. Mr.
Smith, John C. Savage, Esq. of Vt. to Miss Lois Rhoades, of the former
place, daughter of Charles Rhoades, Esq. late of Sudbury.
In this village on the 2d inst., Mr. John Rowling, to Miss Sally Fox, all of this village.
At Pompey Hill on the 30th ult., Mr. Henry Worden, to Miss Orrilla, daughter of Leonard Hobart, all of that place.
Died. At Pompey Hill on Tuesday, the 30th ult., Joseph F. Burr, infant son of C. C. Burr, formerly of this village, and grandson of Joseph and Sarah Farr, of this place, aged one year and two months.
"Gone like a spring flower just opening into bloom,
That's rudely plucked by the rough hand of death,
And leaves the stem to which it clung in life,
All desolate and lonely."
At Norwich, Chenango Co., on the 25th ult., Mr. Bela Farr, aged 51 years.
"We knew the deceased well and intimately, and but speak the feelings of
all who were acquainted with him when we say that his death is sincerely
mourned by the whole community. Always candid and respectful to all--a
good neighbor and citizen, with an irreproachable private character, and
strictly an honest man, his death has made a void in society here which
cannot well be filled. He was a kind and affectionate husband and
father, and has left a large family to mourn his loss, which, to them,
is irreparable."--Norwich Telegraph.
Married. At Pulaski, Thursday morning 16th of April, instant,
by the Rev. Ralph Robinson, Mr. Lyman Mallary, Merchant of Sandy Creek,
to Miss Theresa French, eldest daughter of Ralph French of the former place.
Died. On the 22d instant, Mr. Ebenezer Colton in the thirty-first year of his age. On Saturday the 18th instant, after a short illness, at his residence in Pompey, Mr. Hermon Hibbard, aged about 22 years.
Also--in the same neighborhood, on the 19th inst. Miss Minerva Prindle,
aged 24.
Died. At Skaneateles, on the 27th ult., Mrs. Salome Rhoades,
wife of Mr. Joseph Rhoades of that place, aged 70 years.
Faithful and devote, tender and affectionate as a wife and mother, uniform
and consistent as a Christian (a character which she sustained for more
than fifty-five years of her life,) she was greatly endeared to her family,
and was much beloved, and respected by a large circle of acquaintances
and friends--Com.
Died. At Pompey on Tuesday the 7th Inst. Mrs.Abi consort of
Maj. Daniel Allen aged about 69. She died as she had lived in a blessed
hope of a Glorious immortality, beyond the grave.--May her children remember,
and profit by her dying admonitions,--"to seek the Lord, in the way of
his appointment."
Died. In this village on the 2d inst. Asa Nims, Esq. aged
56.
