§1 Editor's note

With much appreciation, this publication is dedicated to Helen Cole Netter, long-time Teacher, Librarian, and Town of Pine Plains Historian. She has encouraged the research of early families and area events, and the preservation of records for future research. This dedication is doubly appropriate since Helen’s grandfather, Dr. C.E. Cole, practiced medicine in Mt. Ross for several years in the late 1800’s.
