I, Lydia Dubois, aged 70 years, of the tow of Cairo, County of Greene, State of New York, being of sound mind, and good memory; and considering the uncertainty of this life, do therefore make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, that is to say:
After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, I give and bequeath:
First: To my Nephew Cheney Dubois, the sum of One Hundred Dollars, in gold, also the gold watch and chain, formerly used by my deceased husband,
Second: To my Nephew Harry Cairns, Fred Cairns, and Floyd Cairns - each – One Hundred dollars in gold
Third: To my friend and kind physician - Nelson H. Griffin, the sum of One Hundred dollars in gold,
Fourth: To the Stewarts, board of trustees and their successors in office, of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the town and village of Cairo, New York, the sum of Five hundred dollars to be applied to their debt,
Fifth: To the Stewarts, board of trustees and their successors in office, of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Round Top, town of Cairo, New York, the sum of five hundred dollars,
Sixth: To the board of directors and their successors of the Old Ladies Home in the town of Catskill, New York, the sum of two Hundred dollars:
Seventh: To the board of directors, and their successors of the Round Top Cemetery, in the town of Cairo, New York, the sum of five hundred dollars, in trust, the income and revenue, from same, to be used for the care and maintenance of said cemetery,
Eighth: To the board of trusties and their successors of the Queen Ulster Rebekah Lodge, I.O.O.F. in the town of Saugerties County of Ulster, New York, the sum of two hundred dollars,
Ninth: To my niece Ella Dubois, the sum of One hundred dollars, in gold, all my wearing apparel, my gold watch and chain – organ – sewing machine – eight day clock – black walnut case music box together with one half of records for same,
Tenth: To my niece Ina Burton, the sum of One hundred dollars, in gold, my diamond rings – cuck coo Clock – black ebony music box, together with one half of records, marble top table – marble top bedroom suite, of bedstead springs and mattress – bureau – wash stand – dresser – three chairs,
Eleventh: To my half sister Henrietta Cairns, set of white dishes, given me by father, mother’s cherry stand, all of my quilted quilts – one feather bed – one pair feather pillows,
Twelfth: To my brother in law, Charles Dubois, gentleman’s gold ring,
Thirteenth: To my brother in law H. Wilson Dubois, pair of gold spectacles,
Fourteenth: To my friend Sherwood Tolley, as a kind remembrance, for past favors, my side board – the Rip Van Winkle chair, and my revolving book case.
All the rest, residue and remainder of my property of every name, kind and nature, I give and bequeath to my niece Ella Dubois, and my niece Ina Burton, to share and share alike.
It is my wish, that none of my goods and chattels shall be disposed off, at Public Auction, and I direct, it be disposed otherwise, than I have herein mentioned, it shall be, by private sale or else gratuitous distribution.
Likewise, I make, cenatitude (?) and appoint my friend Ira T. Tolley, to be executor of this, my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the 4th day of August 1913.
