There are three hotels in the village. The Hamilton House, at the corner of Reed and River streets, was recently built by the present proprietor, Alexander Cummings.  The hotel is first-class in every respect, and is largely patronized by the traveling public.  Carriages from the hotel connect with all trains and Boats. The livery stable connected with this house, is in charge of E. R. Cummings.

The Larrabee House is on River street, near the boat landing, and is owned and conducted by Nelson Larrabee.

The Eagle Hotel, on Madison street, is owned by William Cummings and conducted by George W. Loud.
