This bible record was found in the
Schermerhorn Family File in The Chenango County historical Society Museum in
Norwich, Chenango, NY. Peter Schermerhorn and wife Rachael Edmonds were from
Dover area of Dutchess County and later Otsego & Chenango County. All
spelling, abreviations, incomplete dates, and punctuation is as it appears
in the copy from the Bible. In the Bible the name is spelled Schermehorn.
But in most census records and on their Tombstones it is Schermerhorn.
