At a meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of school district number 10 in the town of Hunter held pursuant to adjournment at district school house on the ___ day of October 1839 Benjamin McGregor present as district clerk. Wm Edmunds was chosen moderator resolved unanimously that there shall be no school house built this year resolved by a majority that the school house shall be repaired, resolved unanimously that this meeting be adjourned to the annual meeting on the first Monday in October next.

At a meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of school district No 10 in the town of Hunter held pursuant to adjournment at the school house on the 3rd day of May 1830 and public notice, Levi Bardin was chosen moderator and Benjamin McGregor was present as district clerk.
Resolved unanimously that Benjamin McGregor shall serve as district clerk for the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that Duncan McGregor, Ephraim Hommel, Levi Bardin shall serve as trustees the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that John Teller shall serve as collector.
Resolved unanimously that the annual meeting be adjourned on the first Monday in October next. Hunter Oct. the 11th 1830.

To the commissioners of common schools of he town of Hunter we the trustees of school district No 10 in said town in conformity with the statute for the support of common schools do certify and report that the whole time any school has been kept in our district during the year ending on the date of ___ and since the date of the last report for said district is five months and that the time during said year and since last report such school has been kept by a teacher duly appointed and approved in all respects according to law is five months that the amount of money received in our district from the commissioners of common schools during the said year and since the date of the said last report is nineteen dollars seventeen cents and that the same has been expended in paying a teacher duly appointed in all respects according to law for the term of time above stated that the No. of children taught in said district during said year and since said last report is thirty one and that the No. of children residing in our district on the first day of January instant who are over five and under sixteen years of age is thirty one and that the name of the parents or other persons with whoever such children respectively reside and the number residing within each are as follows namely:

And we further report that our school has not been visited by inspectors of common schools or one of them for the year preceding this report and that sum paid for teaching over and above the public money apportioned to said district during the same year amounts to five dollars twenty cents.

To the commissioners of common schools of the town of Hunter of school district 10 in said town in conformity with the statute for the support of common schools do certify and report that the whole time any school has been kept in our district during the year ending on the date here of and since the date of the last report for said district is six months and three weeks and that the time during said year and since and since said last report such school has been kept by a teacher duly appointed and approved in all respects according to law is six months and three weeks that the amount of money received in our district from the commissioners of common schools during the said year and since the date of said last report is $15.75 cents and the same has been expended in paying a teacher duly appointed in all respects according to law for the term of time above stated that the No. of scholars taught in our district during said year and since said last report is thirty two and that the No. of children residing in our district on the first day of January instant who are over five and under sixteen years of age is thirty and that the names of the parents or other persons with whoever such children respectively reside and the No. residing with each one as follows namely:

At a special meeting of the freeholders and which and which habitants of school district No. 10 in the town of Hunter called by the trustees of said district and held pursuant of special notices at the house of Jeremiah Hommel on the ninth day of March William Schoonmaker was chosen Moderator and Levi Bardin was chosen as district clerk.
Resolved that John Schoonmaker, Herman Von Steenburg and Jeremiah Hommel shall serve as trustees the ensuing year.
Resolved that Levi Bardin shall serve as collector for the ensuing year.
Resolved that this meeting shall be adjourned till the first meeting in October next.

To the commissioners of common schools of the town of Hunter we the trustees of School District No. 10 in said town in conformity of the statue for the support of common schools do certify and report that the whole time any school has been kept in our district during the year and ending on the date here of and since the date of the last report for said district is three months and that the time during the year and since last report such school has been kept by a teacher duly appointed and approved in all respects according to law is three months that the amount of money received in our district from the commissioners of common schools during said year and since the date of said last report is fifteen dollars and forty five cents and that thirteen dollars and ninety cents has been expended in paying teacher duly appointed in all respects according to law for the term of time above stated that there is one dollar and 55 cents remaining in our hands that the No. of scholars taught in our district during said year and since the date of said last report is thirty three and that the No. of children residing in our district on the first day of Jan “inst” who are over five and under sixteen years of age is twenty one and the names of the parents and other persons with whom the respectively reside are as follows namely and the No. residing each:

Jeremiah Hommel was chosen Moderator and Levi Bardin was present as district clerk.
Resolving unanimously that Levi Bardin shall serve as district clerk the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that Jeremiah Hommel, Herman Van Steenburg and John Waters shall serve as trustees for the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that Ephraim Hommel shall serve as collector the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that this meeting be adjourned until the first Monday in Nov next

This may certify that Ephraim Hommel has been put in collector in this school district for this year ending on the first Monday of Nov next 1835 and I as district clerk am by the registered trustees to record that he has refused to serve and that George Hommel is appointed by the trustees to serve as collector until the first Monday in Nov next.

To the commissioners of common schools of the town of Hunter we the trustees of school district No. 10 in said town in conformity of the statute for the support of common schools do certify and report that the whole time that any school has been kept in our district during this year and ending on the date of the last report for the said district is five months and a half and that the time during the year and since said last report such school has been kept by a teacher duly appointed and approved in all respects according to law is five months and a half that amount of moneys received in our district from the commissioners of common school during the year and since the date of said last report is $11.13 cents and that the same has been expended in paying a teacher duly appointed and approved in all respects according to law that the No. of children taught in our district during said year and since the date of said last report is 18 and that the No. of children residing in our district on the first day of January inst who is over five and under sixteen years of age is 17 and the names of the parents and the persons with whom they respectively reside is as follows viz and No. residing with each:

At a meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of School District No. 10 in the town of Hunter at a special meeting called by the trustees of said district and held pursuant to special notice at the house of Jeremiah Hommel in said district on the 14th day of February year 1835 Abel Mix was chosen Moderator and Levi Bardin was present as District Clerk.
Resolved unanimously that there shall be a school house built in the above district.
Resolved by a majority of voters present that the school house be built on or near the line between Jeremiah Hommel and a farm of Ephraim Hommel designated by the short farm.
Resolved unanimously that we raise seventy-six dollars and twenty five cents to be raised by a tax to expend in building a school house and from choosing a site.

Resolved unanimously that Jeremiah Hommel shall serve the ensuing year for collector.

At a meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of school district No. 10 in the town of Hunter held pursuant to special notice by order of commissioners of common schools of said town to reorganize said district __ on the 28th day of May 1838 at the house lately occupied by Matthew Schoonmaker in said district whereof Amos Dibbell was chosen moderator and H C Rundell was chosen Clerk protem.
Resolved by a majority votes that Henry C Rundell serve as clerk the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that Ephraim Hommel, Levi Bardin and Amos Dibbell serve as trustees the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that Jeremiah Hommel serve as district clerk the ensuing year.
Resolved that school be kept in the house lately occupied by Matthew Schoonmaker the ensuing year.
Voted that this meeting be adjourned to the first Monday in Oct next at the house voted for a school to kept in the ensuing year at 6 o’clock in the afternoon.

Voted that this meeting be adjourned to the first Saturday in November next at 6 o’clock in the afternoon at the house now occupied for a school house.

At a meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of school district No. 10 in the town of Hunter called by the trustees of said district and held pursuant to special notice at the house occupied the past season for a school house on the 2nd day of March 1839 at 7 o’clock in the afternoon whereof Levi Bardin was chosen moderator and Henry C Rundell was present as clerk.
Resolved that this meeting be adjourned to the house of Ephraim Hommels at 8 o’clock this present evening.
Resolved unanimously that this district build a school house on the ___ a few rods west of the house occupied for a school house this past season.
Resolved unanimously that we build a school house 18 feet by 22.
Resolved by a majority of votes that we raise seventy five dollars by tax on the taxable property of this district to build the above described school house.
Resolved that Henry Hommel serves district librarian the ensuing year.
Resolved that this meeting be adjourned till the first Saturday in November next at 6 o’clock in the afternoon at the house where this meeting was first appointed.

At a special meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of school district No. 10 in the town of Hunter held pursuant to special notice at the school house on the 10th of October 1839 at 7 o’clock in the afternoon.
Whereof Abel Mix was chosen moderator and H C Rundell was present as clerk.
Resolved by a majority of votes present that we raise twenty-five dollars by a tax on the taxable property of said district for the purpose of finishing the school house and furnishing a stove for the same. Voted that this meeting be adjourned till the first Saturday in November at 6 o’clock in the afternoon at the school house.

The number of children taught in said year is 22. And the number of children residing in our district on the first day of December last who are over five and under sixteen years in age is 23. Resolved unanimously that this meeting be adjourned until the 10th inst at the school house No. 10 in said district.
At an adjourned annual meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of school district No. 10 in the town of Hunter held pursuant to adjournment the school house on the 10th day of Nov 1841.
Harmon Dibble was chosen moderator and Archibald Ward as clerk pro tem. Moved and voted that the public money received the ensuing year shall be equally divided to the school taught through the summer session.
Voted that this meeting be adjourned till the first Saturday in Nov 1842 at six o’clock in the afternoon at the school house in District No. 10.

Report of trustees of school districts to the commissioners of common schools.
To the commissioners of common schools of the town of Hunter. We the trustees of School District No. 10 in the said town in conformity with the statutes relating to common schools do certify and report that the whole time any school has been kept in our district during the year ending on the date hereof and since the date of the last report for the said district is five months and twenty two days, and that the time during said year and since the date of said last report such school has been kept by teacher after obtaining a certificate of qualification according to law is five months and twenty two days.
The amount of money received in our district from the commissioners of common schools during the said year and since the date of the said last report, excepting library money is twenty six dollars and sixty cents. And that the said sum has been applied to the payment of the compensation of teacher employed in the said district and licensed as the statute prescribes.
And the sum paid for teacher wages over and above the public money apportioned to said district during the same year amounts to five dollars and ninety cents.
The amount of library money received in our district from the commissioners of common schools during said year and since the date of said last report is four dollars and eight cents, the said sum has been applied to the purchase of library books. The number of volumes belonging to the district library and on hand on the last of December last is twenty eight.
The number of children taught in said district during said year and since last report is twenty two. The number of children residing in our district on the last day of December last who are over five and under sixteen years of age is twenty six.
And we further report that our school has once been visited by the Deputy Superintendent of the county of Green in the last year.
The school books in use in our district during the last year are the following; Copps spelling book, History of United States, arithmetic, geography and ----men.
Dated at Hunter the first day of January in year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two.
At a special meeting held of the legal voters of school district No. 10 in the town of Hunter held pursuant to adjournment at school house No. 1o on the 19th day of March 1842 whereas Ephraim Hummel was chosen moderator and Jonas Hyser, clerk was present it was voted that the time of holding annual meetings shall be held on the first Saturday of January 1843.
Report of trustees of school district to the commissioners of common schools
To the Commissioners of Common Schools of the town of Hunter.
We the trustees of school district No. 10 in said town in conformity with the statutes relating to common schools do certify and report that the whole time any school has been kept in our district is six months and that the time during said year and since the date of said last report such school has been kept by teacher after obtaining a certificate of qualification according to law is four months and three days.

Resolved unanimously that Henry C Rundell, Archibald Ward and Philander Hummel serve as trustees for the ensuing year.

Resolved unanimously that the old school house be sold at a public auction as soon as the new house is finished and fit for use.

That the number of volumes belonging to the district library and on hand the last day of December last was one hundred and thirty and that the number of children taught in said district during said year and since last report is fifty four, that of the said children 23 attended less than two months, 6 two months and less than four, 12 four months and less than six, 12 six months and less than eight, 0 eight months and less than ten, 0 ten months and less than twelve, 0 twelve months. That there were on the last day of December last forty seven residing in said district between the ages of five and sixteen years and the number residing with each are contained in schedule as annexed and we further report that our school has been inspected by the town superintendent not once during the year preceding this report, that the sum paid for teachers wages in said district over and above the public moneys apportioned to said district during the same year amounts to thirty one dollars and seventy nine cents, that the whole amount of taxes levied in the district during the year is forty three dollars and the said sum of money was for the following purposes, namely for teachers wages including board 31.79, fuel 2.50, that the school books in use in said district during said year are the following namely spelling books, Cobs new book and elementary arithmatics, Adaves (?) geographys, Mitchell’s grammar, Smiths reading books, Porters Rhetorical, Rulers, Worster reading and testament, that there have been no private or select schools not incorporated taught in said district during the year aforesaid and that the average number of pupils in attendance therein was that the number of colored children between the ages of five and sixteen attending a school taught in our district aforesaid by a licensed teacher for at least four months was 0, that the whole amount of public money apportioned by the town superintendent of our town during the year aforesaid for the use of said colored school was none and that the said sum has been applied to the compensation of the teacher thereof and that the amount of money paid to such teacher over and above the public money so received was the tax that is levied in the is not collected yet but the sum set down has been expended. At an annual meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of school district No. 10 in the town of Hunter held pursuant to appointment and public notice held at the school house on the 18th of September 1851. Patrick Kelly was chosen moderator and Benjamin Miller was present as district clerk.
It was unanimously resolved that Benjamin Miller serve as trustee in the place of George W Dibbell whose time of office expired.
Resolved unanimously that Daniel E Broadhead serve as district clerk for the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that Henry Hommel serve as collector for the ensuing year.
Resolved unanimously that William H Nyes serve as librarian for the ensuing year.

Report to the trustees to the town superintendent of the town of Hunter-
We the trustees of school district number ten in said town in conformity with the statutes relating to common schools, do certify and report that the whole time any school has been kept in our district during the year ending on the date hereof and since the date of the last report for the said district is six months and three days and that the time during said year and since the date of said last report, such school has been kept by two teachers after obtaining a certificate of qualification, according to law, is six months and three days, and that the amount of money apportioned to our district by the town superintendent during the said year and since the date of the said last report, excepting library money is seventeen dollars and twenty four cents and that the said sum has been applied on our order to the payment of the compensation of teachers employed in the said district and licensed as the statutes prescribes- that the amount of library money received in our district from the town superintendent during said year and since the date of said last report is three dollars and thirty five cents. At an annual meeting of the freeholders and inhabitants of district 10 in the town of Hunter held pursuant to appointment and public notice held at the school house on the 18th day September 1854.

Meeting was adjourned one year from today. Trustee and collector were considered not liable to hold their office because the trustee was not a legal voter the collector had moved location? and would not serve.

At an especial meeting having been called by the clerk by order of trustee held at the school house in District No. 10 town of Hunter on 29th day of October 1857 for the purpose of electing officers to fill the vacancy caused by the last annual meeting and to provide wood for the winter school.
Resolved that the vote taken Sept. 15th be ____ for trustee and collector. Hiram E Dibbell was chosen as trustee to fill the place of Michael Farrell for three years, John Kerr chosen collector, Henry Hommel was chosen as librarian, resolved that there shall be winter school kept, resolved that Michael Farrell get five cords of four foot dry maple wood to be delivered at school house sawed once in two ready for the stove for eleven dollars by order of trustees, resolved that as soon as the wood delivered according to contract the trustees levy a tax on the district to pay for the wood, resolved that this meeting be adjourned until the 22nd day of November 1857.
