MARY ELIZABETH MOORE
Mary E. Moore, 78, formerly of Preston Hollow, died Monday, October 3.
She was a resident of the Sunbelt Nursing Home in Zephyrhills, FL, where her granddaughter, Darlene Ogden, oversaw her care.
Born in Gibraltar on February 14, 1927, she was the daughter of Ted and Antonia Glover.
Mary, better know as “Betty”, served as Lawrence Starr’s right-hand man for many years at the Durham Auction Barn. After they retired, Mary and her husband Walter traveled south and eventually settled in Florida.
Survivors include a son, Walter O. Moore Jr., daughter Betty and husband Bob Moore of Medusa; brother, Norman and wife Barbara Glover of Hudson, FL; sister-in-law Brenda and George Sweet of North Carolina: five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Walter predeceased her on June 19, 1991. A brother, Raymond Glover Walters, and her parents, also predeceased her.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 29 at the First Baptist Church of Westerflo at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Don Lyon officiating.
As to her wishes, she was to be cremated and her remains buried next to her husband at Memory Gardens in Albany.

TINA CONRAD
Tina Marie (Favicchio) Conrad, 49, of Stafford Springs, CT, died Saturday, October 8 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Connecticut.
She was born in Catskill June 9, 1956, the daughter of Samuel and Jean (Kardum) Favicchio of Athens.
Conrad was a 1976 graduate of Coxsackie-Athens High School. At one time she was employed by the Carrols Corp. restaurant chain. She moved to Connecticut in 1993, making her home in Stafford Springs.
She loved country music, soap operas and collecting movie memorabilia and novels plates.
Besides her parents, survivors include her husband, Lyle S. Conrad Jr. and daughter Melinia Conrad, both of Connecticut; two brothers Ralph Favicchio of Athens and Samuel “Bo” Favicchio of South Cairo; three sister, Gina Berry, Holly Favicchio and Mary Dickson, all of Athens; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated today, October 13, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Athens by the Rev. Jeremiah Nunan, pastor of Sacred Heart Church of Cairo.
Burial follows in the new Athens Rural Cemetery.

HENRIETTA DAOUST
Henrietta Grace Williams Daoust, 65, of Castleton, died Saturday, October 8.
She was born in Albany and had lived in Castleton for 35 years. She was a homemaker and for the past 14 years was employed by the Sisters of The Resurrection. She previously worked for the Albany Public and Grand Union markets.
Daoust was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church of Castleton. Survivors include her husband, Bernard S. Daoust Sr.; her children, Kimberly (Henry) Creater of Little Falls and Bernard S. (Nancy) Daoust Jr. and Gregory (Nicole) Daoust, all of Castleton; her siblings, Herbert (Rose) Williams Jr. of Alcove, Eugene (Patricia) Williams of Rensselaer and David (Linda) Williams of Florida; grandchildren Hillary, Shelby, Bernie III, Heather and Lucas; and many nieces, Nephews and cousins.
She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Harriett Seeberger Williams.
Interment was in Memory’s Garden, Colonie.

PETER HYNES
Peter T. Hynes, 58, of Coxsackie, died Wednesday, October 5 at his home.
Born in Catskill April 28, 1947, he was the son of the late Donald James and Anne Margaret (McGuigan) Hynes.
At the time of his death, Hynes was employed by the Village of Coxsackie as deputy treasurer. During his lifetime he was employed by the Greene County Bank and the former Catskill Savings Bank, as well as the Grossman and Marshall and Sterling Insurance agencies.
He was certified financial representative for Securities America.
Hynes was a member of the Coxsackie Knights of Columbus # 548, Coxsackie Hose Company #3, a former Coxsackie Village trustee, a Coxsackie Democratic committeeman and Democratic Club member. He also was a coach and manager for the Coxsackie little league for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Anita P. (Coniglio) Hynes; two sons, Ryan P. Hynes and Darin M. Hynes, both of Coxsackie: two brothers, Donald “Jimmy” Hynes of Coxsackie and Thomas Hynes of Athens; two sisters, Anne McDonald of West Coxsackie and Mary Ellen McDermott of Coxsackie; a grandchild, Dillon P. Hynes of Coxsackie; a friend for more than 50 years, Thomas Burke of Coxsackie; and many cousin’s nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1450 Western Avenue, Room 101, Albany 12203-3572.

LLOYD WEIS
Lloyd Weis, 71, of Preston Hollow, died at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson on Sunday, October 16.
He was born in Durham June 1, 1934, the son of the late Henry and Lydia (Cleveland) Weis.
Weis served in the Navy and he was a self-employed contractor.
Surviving are his fiancé, Jessie Pindal; a son, Kevin Weis and fiancé Valerie Wright; a daughter, Cynthia Thomas and husband Richard; three stepsons, Michael, Steven and Darryl Wase: three sisters, Mamie Stempel, Virginia south and Elizabeth Wood; a brother, Floyd Weis; five grandchildren, Kevin Weis Jr., Angela Spinner and Charity, Destiny, Jeremiah, Mercy and Joshua Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Braydon and Dylan Spinner; four step-grandchildren, Marissa, Karlee, Jenna and Scott Wase; and several nieces and nephews. A brother Elmer Lobdell, predeceased him.
Graveside services are today, October 20, at 11 a.m. at the Potter Hollow Cemetery.

GRACE ECKSTEIN
Grace Eckstein, 80, Coxsackie, died Sunday, October 16 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Belleville, NJ, October 12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Semerad) Eckstein.
Eckstein spent most of her weekends in Coxsackie until she retired from the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company, and then became a full time resident.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, town and Country Business and Professional Women, the Coxsackie Republican Club and St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society.
Eckstein was a past president and secretary of the All-American Rodeo Co., and an associate member of the Pro Rodeo cowboys Association.
Survivors include two brothers, George Eckstein of Coxsackie and Howard Eckstein of New Jersey; and a niece, Elaine V. Osowiecky of New Jersey.
Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Mary’s Church, 80 Mansion Street, Coxsackie 12051.

VIOLET RUBINO
Violet A. Rubino, 88, a longtime resident of Earlton, died at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson on Sunday, October 23 after a short illness.
Born in Mt. Vernon on September 2, 1917, she was the daughter of James and Mary Cestone.
Rubino was a very religious person and as a young woman she sang in the church choir.
She worked as a waitress and later became a manager and troubleshooter for F.W. Woolworth’s. Based in White Plains, she also would travel to other stores. Later she became the book-keeper and secretary for her husband’s optical business in Earlton.
Rubino was a former member of the Earlton Fire Auxiliary and the Earlton Fish and Game Club.
She loved reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, walking and doing things with her family, as well as helping with projects for her daughter’s students. She was very talented with knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Joseph; and her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and roger Kibbey of Earlton.
Three sisters, Florence Cestone, Michelina O’Sullivan and Catherine Telesco, and a brother, Rocco Cestone, predeceased her.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are with Sopris-Murray Funeral Home, Ravena.

OLIVE SCHNARE
Olive M.K. Schnare, 88, of Climax died Friday, October 21 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
She was born in Schodack September 1, 1917, the daughter of the late Clinton and Rose (Mickel) Kellam.
Schnare was the proprietor of Sunset Orchard in Climax. She devoted her live to raising her family and managing the farm.
She was an active member of the Climax Grange and supported the Earlton Volunteer Fire Co., serving as an Auxiliary member for more than 25 years.
Survivors include her family, Al and Chris, Gene and Grace, Deb Schnare and Rosemary Schieren and fiancé Bill Valk; two sisters, Mary Kellam and Phyllis Skidmore; a brother, Everett Kellam; her grandchildren, Cindy Speanburg and friend Stephen Kohler, Dale Schnare, Keri and Chris Hughes, Heather and Bill Marx, Tyson and Vicky Schieren, Darren Schnare, Jessica Schnare and fiancé Shawn Brundage and Gregory Schnare; great-grandchildren Lauren Speanburg, Emily and Brie Statham, Brady Hughes, and Abby and jack Marx; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her husband Alfred Schnare, predeceased her in 1991.
There was nor formal service. The family gathered at the farm on October 23 for a time of sharing and remembrance.
Memorial contributions may be made to favorite charity or organization to benefit a child’s activity, as it always brought her job to see children happy.

JOSEPH NAWROCKI JR.
Joseph Michael Nawrocki Jr., 73, of Cairo, died Tuesday, October 18 at his home with his family by his side.
Born in Livingston September 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Jakubowski) Nawrocki Sr.
Nawrocki served in the Air Force for more than 20 years, including time in Vietnam. After retiring from the service, he had several jobs and most recently was employed by Windham Country Club, where he enjoyed toe outdoor work and the people with whom he worked.
He taught himself to play the accordion by ear at a young age. He never learned to read a single note of music. At age 15, he played in his first band, The Penguins, and continued his musical career up until his recent illness.
His enjoyments in live included taking his grandchildren fishing and spending vacation time in Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Katherine “Kate” (Neely) Nawrocki, who he married May 21, 1959 in Arlington, VA; three daughters, Karen Suppa and husband Richard of Utica, Sharon Race and husband Michael of Hudson and Kathleen Watt of Acra; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy Brown of Greendale, Mary and Ralph Grand of Stottville, Janice Clow of Hudson and Venecia and Lewis Rubino of Greendale; a brother and sister-in-law, Irvin and Gloria Nawrocki of Germantown; grandchildren, Nicholas Suppa, Joseph Race, Michael Race and Maxwellina and Ramon Watt; and great-grand daughter Caitlyn Race.
Interment was in the Cairo Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown.

RUTH C. FRITZ
Ruth C. Fritz, 90, of Rensselaerville, died at her home on Tuesday, October 18.
She was born in Brooklyn April 12, 1915, the daughter of the late Henry and Charlotte (Pommerank) Spielmann.
A community-minded woman, she was a member of the Myosotis Home Bureau and the Clematis Garden Club, a former recording secretary of the Hilltown Seniors, a former member of the Rensselaerville Volunteer Fire Auxiliary, and held many offices and held many offices in the Clark White American Legion Post # 589 Auxiliary.
She was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rensselaerville, treasurer of the Trinity Guild and a member of the Washington National Cathedral.
Survivors include her husband Joseph C. Fritz Sr., with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage in march; two sons, Joseph C. Fritz Jr. and wife Janet of Sunset, NC, and Stephen L. Fritz Sr. of Rensselaerville: a brother, Henry Spielmann and wife Helen of Ramona, OK; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A daughter Judith Anne Fritz predeceased her.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Memorial Fund.
