SAMUEL FAVICCHIO
Samuel Michael Favicchio, 78, of Athens, died Saturday, February 25 at home surrounded by his family.
Born May 15, 1927, he was the son of the late Ralph and Delsie Frisbee Favicchio.
Favicchio served in the Army during World War II as a sergeant in the 2nd Military government Battalion. He received the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal before being honorable discharged.
He was employed for 25 ˝ years for Olsen Grumman, and then for 10 years as a custodian for the Coxsackie-Athens School District. Favicchio was a fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He also enjoyed watching his grand-children play sports.
He was known to everyone as “Uncle Sam: and with his wife being a childcare provider, was a father to many children growing up.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Kardum Favicchio; three daughters and two sons-in-laws, Gina Favicchio and Thomas Berry, Holly Ann Favicchio, and Mary Favicchio and Graham Dickson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Rosland Favicchio, and Samuel Thomas and Marybeth Favicchio; a son-in-law, Lyle Conrad; a sister, Beatrice Favicchio; nine grandchildren, Adam, Shawn (PeteY0, Samantha, Zachary, Hailee, Chelsea, Chloe, Sam and Melina Mane; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A daughter, Tina Marie Favicchio, brothers Thomas, James and Zadock Favicchio, and a sister, Mary Favicchio, predeceased him.
Interment was in the New Athens Rural Cemetery.

ROSE KNAPP
Rose Knapp, 85, of Pearl River, died Thursday, February 2 at the Northern Manor Geriatric Center in Nanuet.
She was born in Bronx April 8, 1920.
Knapp formerly lived in Freehold and had resided in Pearl River for the past 25 years.
She worked as a dressmaker for many years, retiring in 1985.
She will be remembered for her smile and kindness.
Surviving are her son, Raymond (Bette) Knapp of Freehold; a daughter, Loretta O’Connell of Pearl River, grandchildren Kelly (Carlo) Iannandrea of Manassas, VA, Jill McWilliams of Pearl River, James (Danielle) O’Connell IV of Greenburgh, Wendy (Bryan) Blackledge of Melbourne, FL, John (Debbie) Knapp of Freehold and Kenny Knapp of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and great-grandchildren Jessica, Rebecca, Matthew, Rachel, Brittany, Michael, Luna and Zoe Rose.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael, in 1989, a son-in-law James O’Connell III in 1981, and grandson Michael O’Connell in 1983.
Funeral services took place in Pearl River.

EDWARD PELTON
Edward C. Pelton, 63, of New Baltimore, died Friday, February 24 at Albany Medical Center.
He was an Army veteran and had been employed by Occupations Inc. in Ravena.
Surviving are two sons, Edward C. Pelton Jr. and Curtis Pelton; two daughters Veronica Svkorsky and Buffy Marrott, three sisters, Shirley Almstedd, Hope Beck and Alice Biel; a brother, Corneilious Pelton; and 17 grandchildren.
His parents, Corneilious and Bertha Pelton, and a sister, Linda LaPlant, predeceased him.
Memorial contributions may be made to Occupations Inc., Consumer Recreation Fund, P.O. Box 70 Ravena 12143.
Arrangements were with Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena.

MILDRED QUICK
Mildred Quick, 88 of Westerlo, died Sunday, February 26 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany.
A memorial and interment service, to which relatives and friends are invited, take place Saturday, March 4 at 1 p.m. in the Greenville Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville.

JUDITH SUTTMEIER
Judith P. Suttmeier, 64, of Cairo, died Friday, March 3.
Born in Cobleskill February 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Mabel (Fayer) Cochrine.
She had resided in Cairo for 43 years and was a graduate of SUNY Albany.
Suttmeier was active in Resurrection Lutheran Church and at one time taught Sunday school and did other charitable works. She also was active in Community Hospice, Meals on Wheels and activities at Eden Park Nursing Home.
She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Raymond J. Suttmeier; a daughter, Bonnie Suttmeier of Catskill; two sons, Brian Suttmeier of New Hampshire and Bruce Suttmeier of Oregon; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Donna Cochrine of Pennsylvania; and a brother–in-law and his wife in Connecticut.
Burial was in the Catskill Rural Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church of Cairo.
Arrangements were with Richards Funeral Home, Cairo.

WILLIAM MOORE
William Howard (Royce) Moore, better know as Billy, died Wednesday, February 15 while working on a fishing boat off the coast of Florida.
He was born January 19, 1969 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
He is the son of adopted parents Bob and Betty Moore of Medusa. Also surviving are three sisters, Colleen Brennan and husband Mike of Schenectady, Darlene Ogden and husband Dennis of Zephyrhills, FL, and Tammy Isolato and husband Toni of the Carolinas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited takes place Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at the Medusa United Church of Christ, Main Street, Medusa.
Those who wish may contribute in his memory to the United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, Medusa 12120, or to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 South Lake Avenue, Albany 12208.

EVELYN NORTHRUP
Evelyn F. Tompkins Northrup, 78, died Saturday, March 11 at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany.
She had lived in Cairo before moving to the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center two years ago.
Her sister, Grace Waldron of Cairo survives her.
Her parents, Francis and Beulah Tompkins, husband Wilbur Northrup and Brother Herbert and Clifford Tompkins predeceased her.
Burial will be spring in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore.

HELEN HOMES
Helen E. “Muttie” Holmes, 89, a resident of South Westerlo for 38 years, died at home on Tuesday, March 14.
She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Elsie (Ward) Lederle.
Holmes was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Covenant Lutheran Church in Ridgewood, Queens, where she formerly lived.
She was gracious and independent, sacrificing selflessly to raise her sons and give them a solid foundation on which to build a life.
Surviving here are her sons, Ronald and wife Connie of South Westerlo and Arthur and wife Karin of Forest Hills, queens; grandchildren Erik and wife Tammy of South Westerlo, Doug and wife Nicole of Staten Island and Kristine Lodde and husband Jochen of Franklin, TN; and three great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Christian and Elise Lodde, all of Franklin, TN.
A private family funeral services and burial took place March 15 under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home, with interment in the Greenville Cemetery.

LEONARD WARREN
Leonard H. Warren, 92, of Coxsackie, died Sunday, March 12 at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hudson.
Born in Coxsackie September 15, 1913, he was the son of the late Leonard and Margaret Hall Warren.
Warren graduated from Yale University in 1934 as a lawyer He served as a captain in the Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945.
He had been an attorney and partner of Curtis-Warren Insurance Agency since 1945, co-owner of the Henke-Warren Insurance Agency since 1945, co-owner of State Telephone Co. since 1946, and president and chairman of The National Bank of Coxsackie from 1965 to 1994.
He was a member of the Green County Bar association and Christ Episcopal Church of Coxsackie. He also was an Eagle Scout.
Survivors include his wife Florence M. Woodward Warren of Coxsackie; five sons and four daughters-in-laws, Leonard A. and Wendy Warren, James W. and Christine Warren, Chester C. and Jennifer Warren, Barton A. Warren and Joseph H. and Denise Warren, all of Coxsackie; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Susan E. and Larry Slattery, Margaret W. and Jeff Jones, and Wynne A. Warren, all of Coxsackie, Claudia J. Warren of Albany and Lenore Warren and Wesley Rideout of Brooklyn,; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A brother, James Warren, died before him.
Interment with Full military honors was in Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie.

RICHARD QUICK
Richard H. Quick, 47, of Berne, died suddenly as this home on Saturday, March 18.
He was born in Catskill May 9, 1958, the son of the late Royal and Catherine (Sisson) Quick.
He was formerly employed by Heldeberg Bluestone in East Berne.
Quick was a member of the first Baptist Church of Westerlo and was and outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Mindy (Stark) quick; three sons, Richard Quick Jr., Brandon Quick and Nicholas Quick, and a daughter, Katie Quick, all of Berne; two brothers, Royal Quick and wife Karen and Robert Quick and wife Nicole of Westerlo; two sisters, Regina Schreider and husband Alan of Westerlo and Rose Quick of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Westerlo, under the direction of Cunningham funeral Home.
Friends are invited to call at the church prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment is in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery.

A. PATRCIA HALEY
A. Patricia Haley, 57, Earlton, died suddenly at her home on Sunday, March 19.
She was born in Albany December 23, 1948, the daughter of the late Delbert and Ruth (Brown) Haley.
Haley formerly worked at United Stationers Supply in West Coxsackie, the state Department of Taxation and Finance, and the State Department of Corrections.
She was a lover of any small animal, enjoyed going to garage sales and was an avid crafter.
Surviving are her longtime companion, Art Hasbrouck; a son, Jody Haley; three sisters, Joyce Homeyer and husband Phil, Helen Seider and husband Stanley; and Thelma Hildenbrandt; two brothers, Jack Haley and wife Caroline and Billy Haley; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Lula Treadway and two brothers Arnold and David Haley, predeceased her.
Funeral services are today, March 23, at 1 p.m. from Cunningham Funeral home, 4898 Route 81 Greenville. Calling precedes services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Interment in the Athens Rural Cemetery.
