JOHN V. GULISANE
VATATIE---John V. Gulisane, 82, died Monday, August 28, 2006
at Barnwell Nursing Home.
Born May 20, 1924 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late John
and Marie Rachelle (Mercaldo) Gulisane. He served in the Army Airforce during
World War II in the China-Burma-India Theatre, receiving among other honors, the
Distinguished Flying Cross. Using mechanical skills learned as Crew Chief aboard
airplanes, John made a career repairing automobiles as owner and operator of
several service stations in the Catskill area.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Lomuscio) Gulisane of
Greenville; his daughter, Loretta Gulisane of Catskill; his daughter, Marie
Marquit of Greenville; his son, John V. Gulisane, Jr., of Valatie; eight
grandchildren, Daniel, Jared, Joseph, Jacob and Angela Gulisane and Matthew
Marquit, Joshua Marquit and Corrina Marquit-Phillips; and one great-grandchild,
Gavin Marquit.
John was a great storyteller and a man of considerable
mechanical aptitude and diverse talents. He enjoyed entertaining others and
using expressions that were designed to evoke laughter and amusement. His
interests included boating, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He was truly a “character” and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Activities Department Resident Council, Barnwell Nursing Home, Valatie, NY
12184.
Calling hours were Thursday, August 31st from 4 to
8 p.m. at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Greenville, NY.
A memorial service was held Friday, September 1st
at 10 a.m. at the Greenville Branch of The Church of Christ of Latter-Day
Saints, County Route 41, Greenville, NY.
Burial will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery, Saratoga
Springs, NY.

HERBERT G. LIEN
SAUGERTIES---Herbert G. Lien, 86 years, of Saugerties, NY,
formerly of Norton Hill and Greenville, NY passed away at the Benedictine
Hospital in Kingston, NY on Aug. 28, 2006. He was born in Staten Island, NY on
Aug. 2, 1920, son of the late Mathias and Ella (Gabrielsen) Lien. Herb served in
the US Army during WWII receiving the American Theater of Operations Service
Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. He was a retired carpenter
and millwright. He was a member of the James Austin Lodge #557 F. & A.M. and
a former member of the Greenville Vol. Fire Co. He enjoyed his gardening and was
known for his love of animals and his pets. He will be remembered as a loving
father, grandfather and a friend to all who knew him. Herb was predeceased by
his wife, Carolyn (Scott) Lien, a brother, Clifford (Warren) Lien and a sister,
Irene Long.
Surviving are his three daughter, Diane Zarcone and her
husband, Raymond, Beverly Zarcone and her husband, Leslie and Barbara Hulbert
and her husband, Gary; his two sons, Mark Lien and Kevin Lien; three sisters,
Ruth Jones, Myrtle Hurst and Vivian Ahern; ten grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sat., 1 p.m. at the Cunningham
Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, NY 12083.
Friends were invited to call at the funeral home on Fri. from 6 to 9 p.m. The
James Austin Lodge F. & A.M. conducted the services at the funeral home on
Fri. evening, 7:30 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at the Greenville
Cemetery.

CLARA N. HATCHER
SELKIRK---Clara N. Hatcher, 94, entered eternal life Monday,
September 4, 2006. Clara was born in Berne and had lived in Selkirk for 68
years. She had worked for the former Frangella Mushroom Plant in Ravena and
Schraft’s Motor Lodge.
Clara was predeceased by her husband, Charles Hatcher.
Survivors include her daughters, Elsie (Fred) Ward of Westerlo and Judy (Norris)
Benway of Hannacroix; grandchildren, Scott (Lisa) Benway and Tammy (Mark)
Frodyma; great-granddaughter, Morghan Frodyma; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Friday, September 8th
at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne, NY with Rev. Steven Peiffer officiating. In
lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Clara may be made to Senior Projects
of Ravena, PO Box 142, Ravena, NY 12143.
Services were conducted under the direction of the Babcock
Funeral Home, Ravena.

PETER K. JAROZEWSKI
Peter K. Jarozewski, 54 years, of Greenville, New York, passed
away suddenly at his home on September 7, 2006. He was born in Sweden on
November 17, 1951, son of Ted and Karen (Roos) Jarozewski. He enjoyed skiing,
both downhill and cross country. He will be remembered as a loving son and
brother. Eternal rest granted unto him O Lord, may he rest in peace.
Surviving are his parents and a brother, Thomas J. Jarozewski,
all of Greenville, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, September 13,
11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Interment was in the Greenville
Cemetery. As to his wishes, he was cremated at the Albany Rural Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, New
York.

LULU R. (CARY) SEABURG
COXSACKIE---Lulu Rosalie Seaburg, 66, of Coxsackie, peacefully
went home to our Lord on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Albany Medical Center
Hospital with her loving family surrounding her after a long courageous fight
with cancer.
Lulu was born in Coxsackie, Greene County, to the late Evelyn
Hosford of Athens, and Carl “Dusty” Cary, Sr., of Coxsackie. She graduated
from Coxsackie-Athens High School in 1957.
Lulu fulfilled her passion of motherhood. As a stay at home
mom, she provided a loving and nurturing environment for her seven children. She
also left a lasting legacy in the greater Coxsackie community by providing
compassionate, caring and secure day care to a significant number of local
children and families. She was known for her warm and caring heart and love for
children.
Lulu is survived by her husband of 34 years, Stewart Seaburg,
Jr., and seven children including sons, Alexander (Renee) “Sandy” Mathes,
Jr., Jeffrey (Amy) Mathes, Sheryl Mathes, Tammy (Mike) Sutherland, Elizabeth
Bakerian, Diana (Matt) Heckman; stepsons, Stewart W. (Holly) Seaburg, John
Seaburg and the late Kevin (Ann Marie) Seaburg. She was Grammie/Grandma to Kent,
Amanda, Adam and Philip Sopris, John and Evan Bakerian, Thomas, Molly and Grace
Mathes, Jarett and Kyle Sutherland, Kelly (Vandyke), Katie and Nathan Seaburg,
Marci and Genevieve Seaburg, Jessica and Sarah Seaburg; and great-grandma to
Aaron Vandyke. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Carl (Judy)
“Skip” Cary, Jr.; sisters, Joan (Fred) Donovan and Pricilla Eldred; and many
nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr.
Francis Nugent and the oncology nursing staff at Albany Medical Center for their
extraordinary care. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Pastor Paul Peters for his
warmth and love extended to Lulu and her family.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend calling hours at
the W.C. Brady Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, on Friday, September
15th from 1-4 and 6-9
p.m. A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, September 16th
at 11 a.m. at the First Reformed Church at 285 Mansion Street, West Coxsackie.
Burial followed in the Athens Cemetery.
The family would like to suggest donations to be considered to
the American Cancer Society or the Heermance Library Kids Summer Reading Program
in lieu of flowers. Envelopes can be obtained at the funeral home.

PHYLLIS BRUCHHAUSER
Phyllis Bruchhauser, age 81, of Rensselaerville, New York,
passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 30, 2006 from congestive heart failure.
Born in Richmond Hill, New Yokr, in 1924, one on nine
children, she is survived by three siblings, Mae Porcelli, 92, of Las Vegas,
Nevada, Edward Bruchhauser, 89, of Huntington Beach, California, and Juliette
Sternbach, 80, of Woodhaven, New York.
Phyllis was a loving and devoted aunt to 12 nieces and
nephews. She served as a W.A.V.E. in the U.S. Navy during WWII and received the
American Theatre Victory Medal. Phyllis worked many years for a number of noted
dignitaries at the United Nations in New York City until her retirement. She
will be dearly missed by all those who loved her and especially by those who
took care of her in her declining years.
Graveside services with Military Honor Guard (all are welcome)
will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, in Rensselaerville Rural
Cemetery, Rensselaerville, New York. If you need further information or wish to

CHARLES R. RUSO
SELKIRK---Charles R. Ruso, 62, of Selkirk, entered eternal
life on Monday, September 18, 2006 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was a life long resident of Coeymans. He was a 1964
graduate of Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School. He was a Navy Veteran serving
during the Vietnam War.
Charles was a life member of the Coeymans Fire Co. for 45
years, life member of the Ravena Coeymans Sportsman’s Club, a member of the
Ravena Coeymans Yacht Club and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. In
2000, he retired after 30 years of service with the City of Albany.
Charles was the son of the late Ronald and Neta Ruso.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Swartout Ruso of Selkirk; children Allie and
Chuck Wagoner of Selkirk and Tara and Brian Burns of Ravena; grandchildren,
Tyler Gallagher, Breah, Haley and Brian Burns, Jr., and Noah and Caitlynne
Wagoner; siblings Bonnie J. Ruso, Lynne and John Sowek; and several nieces and
nephews. Charles was predeceased by his brothers, Floyd A. Ruso and Buford S.
Layman.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 22nd
at the Grace United Methodist Church, Ravena, with Rev. Alan Baumback
officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Coeymans. Friends may call at
the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions in
memory of Charles may be made to the Coeymans Fire Co. or the Grace United
Methodist Church.

MATTHEW J. MILLER
Matthew J. Miller, age 40 years, of Kings Road, Coxsackie, New
York, died suddenly September 25, 2006, as the result of injuries sustained in
an automobile accident.
He was born in Troy, New York, September 11, 1966, and was the
son of Robert B. and Ruth A. (Wrzochalski) Miller.
Matthew was an avid craftsman, he loved the outdoors, hunting
and fishing. He was self-employed as a contractor. Matthew was a wonderful
father and husband and was deeply devoted to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Stacey M. (Jones) Miller; two
children, Zachery M. Miller and Amanda Lyn Miller, all of Coxsackie; three
brothers, Martin, of Troy, Mark, of Albany and Michael, of Ravena; two sisters,
Michele Feiden of Clifton Park, and Mary Wickkiser of Ravena; his grandmother,
Helen Wrzochalski of Watervliet; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charlotte
and James Jones of Glenmont. Also surviving are the following brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law, Walter and Fran Jones of Colonie, Donna and Bert Carkmer of
Glenmont, Lisa Marsh of Selkirk, Barbara Murray of Selkirk, Sherry Cavallaro of
Latham and Brenda and Gregg Warchol of Guilderland. He is also survived by many
cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling
hours at The W.C. Brady’s Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street,
Coxsackie, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Contributions in his memory may be made to The Matt Miller
Memorial Fund at any Key Bank.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 11 a.m.
at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Coxsackie, with Rev. Fr. J. Moyna,
Pastor, the Celebrant.
Interment will follow in the family plot of The Calvary
Cemetery in Glenmont, New York.

SUZANNE M. MOORE
COXSACKIE---Suzanne M. Moore, age 53 years, of 41 Freleigh
Place, Village of Coxsackie, died September 20, 2006, at her residence after a
long illness.
She was born in East Meadow, L.I., March 4, 1953, and was the
daughter of the late Edward and Ilene (Maurer) Peectsh.
Private cremation services took place on Friday, at The Albany
Rural Crematorium, Menands.
Suzanne has been an area resident for most of her life. She
was employed at Betty Jean’s Dress Factory, also The Laidlaw School Bus
Transportation as a school bus aide, she loved to embroider and to do
needlepoint. She was an avid shopper, and she was dedicated to her family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Rich,
in 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa R. Moore of Coxsackie; a
brother, Ralph Heinz of Selkirk, NY; five sisters, Eilene Holmes of South
Carolina, Barbara VanDassel of West Athens, Brenda Heinz of North Carolina,
Linda Heinz of Georgia and Wilhelminia Salamak of Hannacroix, three
grandchildren Kolby, Makayla and Reba.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the W.C.
Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, NY.
Interment of her remains will take place at a later day in the
Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie, next to her late husband.
