Francis (Frank) C. Divone
Francis C. Divone, 81, of Oak Hill, New York, died on Monday May 26, 2008, at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York. He was born in College Point, New York on September 17, 1926, the son of Bertha and Anthony Divone. Frank was a typesetter for the Journal American Newspaper in New York City and a foreman of Clarkwood Corp. in Totowa, New Jersey. He moved from Rockland County to Oak Hill in 1985.
Frank was Private 1st Class in the 35th Infantry of the US Army from 1944-1046. He was a heavy machine gunner, stationed in the Philippines, Frank was a Vice Commander if the Durham Valley American Legion Post No. 1416 and Post Commander of the Tri-Town Memorial VFW Post No. 7229. He enjoyed volunteering for Hospice, EMT and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Signhild; son, Thomas, sister, Ginny; and brothers, Ronny and Bob.
Surviving are his wife, Frances. Two sons, Kenneth, wife Brooke and Frederick, wife, Sheila; step-children, Doreen Rossback, Stephen Rossback, Richard Rossback, and Carl Rossback; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, along with many friends and loved ones.
Arrangements were by Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville. Viewing was Thursday, May 29. Cremation followed the 11am service on Friday, May 30, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oak Hill, New York.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Frank’s memory to Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene, 47 Liberty St., Catskill, NY 12414.

Mary M. Kennelly
Mary M. Kennelly, 80 years of Cornwallville, New York, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008 in the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, New York. She was born in Limerick, Ireland on June 20, 1927, daughter of the late John and Margaret (O’Donnell) Horrigan.
Mary was a homemaker, a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham, New York.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband John Kennelly in 1997 and a sister and brothers, Bernadette, Patrick, Noel, Jay and Gerard.
Surviving are her two daughters, Beatrice Clappin (Philip) and Yvonne Foragty (Mark); her two sons, Daniel Kennelly (Sharon) and Philip Kennelly (Edie); eight grandchildren, and her sisters and brothers, Beatrice Mahoney, Ollie Horrigan, Sean Horrigan, Donald Horrigan, Evelyn Ambrose, Rita Finnerty.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 9, 10:15am from the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham, New York. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 4 to 8pm.
Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York on Tuesday at 1pm.

Richard T. Kurtz, II
Richard T. Kurtz, II, 52 years of Durham, New York, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, May 30, 2008. He was born in Syracuse, New York on December 27, 1955, son of the late Richard T. and Alice (Temple) Kurtz, I. Richard was freight conductor for Conrail. He loved hunting, fishing, and his dogs. Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by an infant daughter Eliza Kurtz.
Surviving are his four children, Richard T. Kurtz, III, William K. Kurtz, Christine M. Kurtz, and Kevin M. Haverly; one grandchild, Richard T. Kurtz IV; a sister, Kathleen (Randy) Beam; a niece Rebecca Beam and many beloved friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Those who wish may contribute in Richard’s memory to the Town of Durham Ambulance.
Arrangements were by the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.

Gerald “GP” Winans
Gerald “GP” Winans, 71, of Preston Hollow, New York, passed away on May 31, 2008 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, New York. He was born in Livingstonville, New York on September 30, 1936, son of the late Cecil and Dorothy (Engle) Winans.
He had retired from Stiefel Laboratory and had also worked for Ralston Purina in Voorheesville, New York. An avid hunter, trapper and fisherman he enjoyed the outdoors, camping and was a life member of the NRA and a member of the NYS Trappers Association. “GP” also served in the US Army Reserve. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather and family man and a friend to all he met.
Surviving are his wife Donna (Goodfellow); a daughter, Kimberly Winans; a son, Gregg Winans (Ani); six grandchildren, Timothy, Sarah, Kayla and Heather Rooney, Jessica and Nicole Winans and a great-granddaughter Halie Ronney.
Funeral service was Tuesday from the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville. Friends called at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service. Interment was on Wednesday, 1pm. at the Brookside Cemetery, Preston Hollow, New York. Those who desire may contribute to the Tri-Village Vol. Fire Co. or to the Town of Rensselaerville Ambulance.

George L. Kerr
Mr. George Lewis Kerr, age 88, of Catskill, died suddenly, Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Catskill. He was born September 19, 1919 in Athens, New York, the son of the late Lewis and Alvira (VanLoan) Kerr.
George served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He owned and operated the Cabin in Greenville for many years prior to his retirement. George was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the American Legion Post 291 in Greenville; Sullivan-Teator VFW Post 770 in Catskill; Catskill Elks Lodge 1341; and Washagoen Snowmobile Club.
George was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Lorraine Kerr; two sons, George J. Kerr, and Robert W. Kerr; and a daughter, Barbara A. Teator.
Mr. Kerr is survived by his life companion, Doris Hartman-Warner of Catskill; a son, Ronald Wayne Kerr and wife Heather of Poughquag; a daughter, Mary Susan Kerr-Welter and fiancé Michael Selmer of New Paltz; a sister, Mary Chamberlin of Florida; a son-in-law Raymond Teator; stepdaughter and son-in-law Donna and Richard Overbaugh and children, Jonathan Dees and Andrew Overbaugh of Catskill; four grandchildren, Sharon Hayner, William Teator, Shannon Welter and Courtney Welter; four great-grandchildren, Alexander Teator, Kendra Teator, Joshua Hayner, and Jessica Hayner; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends called at the Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
Funeral services were held 11am Monday at the funeral home. Fr. David Sutcliffe officiated. Interment followed at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Catskill.

Dorothy M. Price
Dorothy M. (Miller) Price, 102, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008. Dorothy was born in Medway, daughter of the late William M. and Ida Miller, where she lived most of her life. She has in resided in Ravena for the past 20 years. She graduated from Coxsackie High School and Albany Teachers College.
Dorothy had worked for Soconny Vacuum, Dunn & Brad Street and taught business courses at Greenville Central School and Coxsackie Central School. She was a member of the Medway Congregational Christian Church and had been secretary for the Medway Christian Cemetery Association.
Survivors include her son William H. (Lois) Price of Ravena; daughter, Dorothy I. Fritz of Guilderland; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and niece, Shirley Miller of North Carolina. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband William W. Price, sister Edna Vosburgh and brother Sherwood Miller. All services were private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena.

Josephine Giliberto
Josephine Giliberto, 85 years, of Westerlo, New York passed away on June 9, 2008, n the Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, New York, following a long illness. Josephine was born in New York City on February 15, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (West) Carter.
The family moved to Masspeth Long Island, New York where Josephine attended grade school and graduated high school. She married Patrick Giliberto and lived on the lower east side of Manhattan prior to moving to Copiague, Long Island, New York, with their two sons.
Josephine and her husband Patrick moved to Westerlo, New York 37 years ago. She was an active member of the Westerlo Vol. Fire Co. Fire Police for many years, She was also a member of the Greenville American Legion Post 291 Ladies Auxiliary.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Giliberto; and a son, Richard Giliberto.
Surviving are a son, William Giliberto of Texas; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Kartina of Wilmington, Carolina, and Mary Jackson of Hempstead, North Carolina; two brothers, Joseph Carter of Wilmington, North Carolina and Thomas Carter of Stoughton, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Thursday, June 12, from the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church in Greenville, New York. Friends called at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment followed in the Greenville Cemetery.

Edward F. Low
Edward F. Low, 81 years of Cornwallville, New York (formerly of Milton, New York) passed away at his home on June 12, 2008. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 20, 1927, son the late Fred and Elfreda (Schultz) Low.
Edward served his country in the US Navy during WWII and received the American Theatre Medal, and Asia Pacific Medal and the Victory Medal. He was an installer/repairman for 33 years with the New York Telephone Co. in Newburgh, New York. Edward was a Past Commander of the Durham Valley American Legion Post No. 1416, Past Commander and Life Member of the Tri Town Memorial VFW Post No. 7229, member of AM Vets Post 2004 and a Life Member of the Telephone Pioneers. He loved hunting, gardening, watching sports and the outdoors.
Besides his parents, Edward was predeceased by a son, Wayne Low.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Doris (Skry) Low of Cornwallville, New York; two sons, Bruce Low (Carla) and Dale Low (Rebecca); two granddaughters, Emma and Anna Low; two sisters, Gertrude Unger (Daniel) and Elaine McMullen (Ruel); and two brothers Fred Low and Robert Low (Margaret).
A graveside service was conducted with military honors on Tuesday, June 17, at the Cornwallville Cemetery. Friends called at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, on Monday. The Durham Valley American Legion and the Tri Town VFW Pasts conducted services.

Lucas R. Stevens
Lucas R. Stevens, 1 year old, of Brookside Ave., Amsterdam, NY, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday June 10, 2008 at home.
Born on May 7, 2007 the son of Alexander J. Stevens of Hagaman and Carly L. Cantine of Amsterdam, NY.
Lucas was the light of everyone’s life and was a very happy baby. He could always make everyone happy with his big bright blue eyes. He will sorely be missed by his loving parents and extended family.
In addition to his parents he is survived by one brother, Joshua Stevens of Amsterdam.. Maternal Grandparents, Lora Newell and Robert Benac of Westerlo, NY. Calling hours are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. A service will be conducted by Lucas’ Great Uncle, the Rev. David R. Chadwick, Jr. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 14th, 2008. Interment will be in Hagaman Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. A reception will be held in honor of his life at the Horace J. Inman Senior Center on 53 Guy Park Ave. at 1:30pm. Immediately following interment in Hagaman. Donations to the family are being accepted in memory of Lucas and may be made payable to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Anne M. Anderson
Anne M. Anderson, 61 years, of Greenville, New York passed away on June 22, 2008 in the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, New York. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 26, 1947, daughter of the late Joseph and Jacqueline (Gargano) Saltalamacchia.
Anne was a nurses aide at St. Joseph’s Villa and Kaaterskill Care. She served on the Advisory Board of the Greenville FFA. She loved traveling with the Greenville FFA, Anne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband, Carl E. Anderson, Sr; her four children, Carl E. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Vicki, Anne Allen and her husband Bob, Jackie Anderson and Joseph Anderson and his wife Kim; grandchildren, Erik, Alex and Claudia Anderson, Kelly Anne Allen and Garrett Anderson; and a brother, Philip Salta and his wife Ann Marie.
Funeral service was Wednesday, June 25, at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, New York. Friends called at the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment was in the Greenville Cemetery.

Harriet Bloom O'Connor
Harriet Bloom O’Connor, 87, lifelong resident of Kiskatom, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Catskill Crossings where she had been a patient since March 22, 2006.
Mrs. O’Connor was born in Catskill on June 29, 1920 to the late Lewis and Melitta Hunter Bloom. She was the wife of the late Edward E. O’Connor who predeceased her on May 25, 1983.
She is survived by her three children, Edward O’Connor and his wife Susan of Coxsackie, Lewis O’Connor and his wife Donna of Palenville, and Ronna Shanagher and her husband James of Catskill; four grandchildren, Kasey Olsen of Dover Plains, Jeffrey O’Connor of Astoria, Queens, Gregory O’Connor of Coxsackie, and Carrie Sue O’Connor of Coxsackie. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Lewis Bloom and a sister Lillian McCollum.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June24 at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill with Rev. Bart Heneghan, Associate Pastor of the Gospel Community Church in Coxsackie officiating. Interment followed in the Town of Catskill Cemetery. Friends and relatives were invited to call at the funeral home on Monday.
