MARIE CHRISTMAN
Marie Christman, 98 years, formerly of Westerlo, New York, passed away at the Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill, New York on January 1, 2005. She was born in Germany on November 7, 1906, daughter of the late Frederick and Anna Fischer Brutting.
She had been a calendar maker having worked for Brooks and Porter in Brooklyn, New York.
She was predeceased by a brother, George Brutting and her husband of 65 years, Frank Christman.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81, Greenville, New York. Spring interment will be in the Round Top Cemetery, Round Top, New York.

HELEN SMITH
Helen Smith, 69 years, of Coeymans Hollow, New York, passed away at her residence on January 1, 2005. She was born in Coeymans Hollow, New York, on September 25, 1935, daughter of the late Maurice and Sarah (Stanford) Stott.
Helen was a homemaker. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Raymond Smith, and a son, Stephen Smith.
Surviving are her four sons: Bruce Smith of Ravena, New York, Raymond Smith of Folkston, Georgia, Alfred Smith of Catskill, New York, and Bernard Smith of Coeymans Hollow, New York; two grand daughters, Genevieve and Phoebe Smith of Catskill, New York; and a sister, Charlotte Stott of Hudson, New York.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 5, at 7 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville. Friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
Interment was in the Hannacroix Rural Cemetery.

ELIZABETH J FERRIERE
Elizabeth (Betty) J. Ferriere, 74, passed away on December 1, 2004, at Flagler Memorial Hospital in Bunnell, Florida. Betty was born in Hudson Falls, New York and was a longtime resident of New Baltimore. She worked for General Electric, several local restaurants and was a member of the New Baltimore Cornell Hook & Ladder Ladies Auxiliary.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Ferriere; son, William Ferriere; brothers, Robert and Glenn Martin; and sisters, Mary Martin and Marion Waldron.
Betty is survived by sons, Gary of Hudson, Phillip of Coxsackie, James of Selkirk, Nicholas of New Baltimore; and daughter, Susan Haley of Bunnell, Florida. In addition she is survived by sisters, Nancy Boomhower of New Baltimore, Mary Lou Firstiun of Earlton; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are being planned and will be announced at a later date.

MARY HYNES
Mary Hynes, 81 years of Greenville, New York, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, New York, on January 4, 2005. She was born in Moyne, County Longford, Ireland on May 20, 1923, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Jane (Flynn) Briody.
Mary was a lifelong homemaker and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ladies Auxiliary, Our Lade of Knock Shrine Council in East Durham, and the Greenville Irish American Club.
Surviving are her husband, Michael Hynes of Greenville; a son, Michael P. Hynes and his wife Ellen of Greenwich, Connecticut; a daughter, Mary Kress and her husband, John, of Mahopac, New York; her grandchildren, Erin and Christopher Hynes, John Patrick Kress and Allison Kress; also a brother, Patrick Briody of Ireland. She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York, with a Mass of Christian Burial from St. John the Baptist Church. Interment was held in the Cemetery of the Gate of Heaven, Hawthorne, New York.

CLIFFORD G. PARENT
Clifford G. Parent, 83 years, of Cornwallville, New York, passed away January 3, 1005 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. He was born in Yorktown, New York on April 4, 1921, son of the late Cortlandt and Grace (Lancaster) Parent.
He was valedictorian of the class of 1939 of Yorktown High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1944-1946 in the Pacific Theatre. Cliff was well known for his automotive skills and highly regarded by the patrons of the Meadow Brook Garage in Yorktown, New York, of which he was the proprietor. He was a man of integrity and highly thought of in his community. Cliff was a Sunday School teacher and superintendent; trustee and deacon of the Yorktown Community Church and later the Calvary Bible Church, a 50 year member of the Lake Mohegan Vol. Fire Co., a member of the Oak Hill-Durham Vol. Fire Co. and board member for 15 years of the Good Tidings Bible Conference of Cornwallville, New York. He loved softball, baseball, football, stock car racing and cake decorating.
Cliff was predeceased by his wife, Gladys (Richards) Parent and a brother, Cortlandt Parent, Jr.
Surviving are his loving wife, Becky (Mahler) Parent; two sons, Jerry Parent of Albany, New York, and Bub Parent and his wife, Miriam, of McHenry, Illinois; three stepchildren, Reay Mahler and Debbie Truesdell, both of Cornwallville, New York and Bill Mahler of Vernon, New York; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a cousin, John Vought.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 8, at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4989 SR81, Greenville, New York. Friends called prior to the service. Interment was held in the Cornwallville Cemetery.
Relatives and friends were invited to join the family at the Town of Durham Ambulance building for a reception following the funeral service.

CAROLINE COONS ROWE
Caroline Parsons Coons Rowe, 76, died unexpectedly on January 5, 2005. She was a lifelong resident of the Ravena area where she raised her family with her husband, Harold, of 42 years, who predeceased her in 1985.
She was the daughter of the late Peter T. Coons and Bessy Mae Golden Coons and is survived by one sister, Helen Quay of Alcove. Two sisters, Fanney Radley and Georgia Chicorelli predeceased her. Her three brothers, Howard, Willis and Charles also predeceased her.
Caroline is survived by three children: Linda Mae DiPerna and husband, Joseph of Ravena, Stanley Earl Rowe and wife, Margaret, of Ormond Beach, Florida and Nadine Cohen and husband David of Latham. She leaves behind seven grandchildren: Steven DiPerna, Cheryl DiPerna, Christina DiPerna Sabatino, Allison Scognamiglio. Jennifer Reed, Michelle Krott and Jason Michael Cohen. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for the family was held at Babcock Funeral Home on Pulver Avenue in Ravena at 6 p.m. on Friday, the 14th of January. Interment will be at the Coeymans Hollow Cemetery in the spring next to her husband, Harold.

CLIFTON “SONNY”
RICHARDSON, JR.
Clifton “Sonny” Richardson, Jr., 75 years, of Greenville, New York, passed away suddenly on January 7, 2005 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, New York. He was born in Alcove, New York on November 12, 1925, son of the late Clifton and Dorothy (Winn) Richardson. Sonny was a third generation well driller, having been a partner with his brother, Milton, at C. Richardson & Sons Well Drilling. He was retired but often helped out in different situations as needed. He loved the Lord, his family, country, working, being outdoors and sports. He was a United States Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. At age 72, he was the first elected Republican Town Councilman in over 70 years for the Town of Westerlo and was serving out his term. He was generous in performing good deeds (asking nothing in return) and sharing his wealth of experience and knowledge. He will be missed by all that knew him and called him friend.
He was the devoted husband of Anna (Plass) Richardson, loving father of Cheryl Ann Marto and her husband Thomas, Clifton Richardson III and his wife, Phyllis (Teator) Richardson, beloved grandfather of Jared, Rebekah, Chelsey and Carissa. Also surviving are two brothers, Milton Richardson and his wife Glenna; Gerald Richardson, a sister Viola Kudlack, a sister-in-law, Ruth Ott and her husband Dave, brother-in-law, William Plass and his wife Edith and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Marla Woehrmann pre-deceased him. A memorial service was held January 17 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Westerlo, Westerlo, New York. Relatives and friends may called at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81, Greenville, New York on Wednesday. Spring internment will be in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery.

DARLEENE WARNER
Of Middleburgh
Darleen Warner, 57 years, of Middleburgh, New York, passed away Monday, January 17, 2005 in the Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County.
She was born in Catskill, New York on July 14, 1947, daughter of the late Ethel and Pamela (Haskins) Bates. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Besides her parents, Darleene was predeceased by a sister, Connie Miller.
Surviving are her children: Michelle Molenar of Albany, New York; Michael Warner of Middleburgh, New York; and Ronald Warner of Schenectady, New York; also four grandchildren: Danielle Miller, Tyler Warner, Mikayla Sussman and Zackary Sussman.
Funeral services, under the direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the spring.

CLARENCE D. BRYAN
Clarence D. Bryan, 90 years, of Rensselaerville, New York, passed away January 21, 2005 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, New York after a two month illness.
He was born September 19, 1914 in Rensselaerville, New York, son of the late Charles and Emily (Venten) Bryan.
He was a mechanic for the Pontiac Motor Division for over 25 years, receiving numerous awards for outstanding work. He was known for his vast knowledge of all types of mechanical engines. Clarence was the head mechanic for the Greenville Central School District, retiring in 1987. Throughout his retirement years you would find him in the barn and fixing things for people.
He was predeceased by his three wives: Alice, Dorothy and Grace; his daughter, Wanda Gardner and two stepchildren, Robert Barkman and Nina Furman.
Survivors include a daughter, Marylin Wood of Esperance, two sons: Kerry C. Bryan of Greenville, New York and David (Mary) Bryan of Rensselaerville, New York; six stepchildren: Richard Barman (Deborah), Randy Barkman (Tricia), Sandra Baithsholts (David) of Rensselaerville, New York, Sharon Wood of Severna Park, Maryland, Susan Augstein (Edward) of Argyle, New York, and Linda LoParco (Gene) of Albany, New York; and son-in-law, Doug Gardner of Middleburgh, New York. He was a special grandfather to Emily and Ben Bryan and Robin and Robert Wood. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde and Claude Bryan of Albany, New York and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 25 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rensselaerville, New York under the direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York.
Spring interment will be in the Rensselaerville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

VIOLA KUDLACK
Viola Kudlack, 72 years, of Greenville, New York, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill, New York.
She was born March 7, 1932 in Albany, New York, daughter of the late Clifton G. and Dorothy (Winn) Richardson, Sr.
She was a cook for the Pine Lake Manor Resort in Greenville, New York, until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westerlo. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Viola was predeceased by her husband, Michael Kudlack; a son, Michael Kudlack; a brother, Clifton G. Richardson, Jr.; and a sister, Marion Woehrmann.
Surviving are her four daughters: Linda Maxwell and her husband, Christopher; Gail Tombari and her husband, Anthony; Sharon Clifford and her husband, Joseph; and Susan Lambert and her husband, Mike: four sons, Clifton Kudlack, Daniel Kudlack and his wife, Barbara; and Robert Kudlack and his wife, Loretta, and Shawn Kudlack and his wife, Kristen: a daughter-in-law, Lois Kudlack: two brothers, Milton Richardson and his wife, Glenna; and Gerald Richardson: 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 28 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Westerlo. Friends called at the church from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Spring interment will be held in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family, all under the direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York 12083.

Edna Barbara Herrschaft, 89 years, of Westerlo, New York, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 1005 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany, New York.
She was born in Hicksville, New York, on September 26, 1915, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Goettelman.
She was a dental assistant to Dr. Yoodelman in Hicksville, New York.
Edna and Norman Herrschaft were married in 1939 in Bethpage, New York. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westerlo. Edna was predeceased by her husband, Norman in 2004.
Surviving are her three children: Wayne Herrschaft, Donna Reichman and Patricia Maurer; four grandchildren, Scott, Michelle, Trevor and Kyle; five great grandchildren, Gaston, Michelle, Gabriel, Hanna and Trevor, Jr.; and two sisters, Patricia Paulus and Jule Goettelman.
A memorial service was held Saturday, January 28 at the First Baptist Church of Westerlo at 12 noon. No calling were held. Spring interment will be held in the Westerlo Rural cemetery at the convenience of the family.
