EDWIN A. PLASS
Edwin A. Plass, formerly of Glenmont, died peacefully Sunday, May 2, 2004, at the age of 88 in Boulder, Colorado. He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Flach. He was the father of Marie Blakesley, Nancy Shalk and her husband Edward, Sally Ruback, Richard Plass and his wife Sallie, and Linda Dole. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Laura Martinez, Darrin Rice, JoAnne King, Linda Scholk, John Scholk, Matthew Scholk, Michael Scholk, Eric Ruback, Sara Stankovich, Jennifer Powell, Rebekah Canida, Elizabeth Plass, Margaret Plass, Megan Dole, Stephen Dole, Caitlin Dole and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend the graveside service Sunday, June 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, Route 9W, Glenmont. Those desiring to make a contribution in Edwin's memory may make it to the St. James School, 50 Summit Ave., Albany, NY 12209, c/o the primary aged children in need.

MARGIE E. HAVERLY
Margie E. Haverly, 81 years of Greenville, New York, passed away May 28, 2004, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany, New York. Margie was born in Ravena, New York, on September 18, 1922, daughter of the late Newton and Kathleen (VanAlstyne) Spoor. She was employed as the Office Manager of A. J. Britt in Albany, New York. Margie was a former member of the Maranatha Valley Chapter O.E.S. and a member of the Greenville American Legion Post #291 Ladies Auxiliary. An avid golfer, she also enjoyed playing the piano and will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Margie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edwin B. "Ed" Haverly.
Surviving are her three sons, Edwin Haverly and his wife Deborah of Newport News, Virginia, Michael Haverly and his wife Dee of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Jeff Haverly and his wife Cindy of Rownsburg, Indiana; three daughters, Mary Haverly of Oak Hill, New York, Patricia Haverly and her fiance Richard Kurtz of Greenville, New York, and Susan Haverly of Greenville, New York; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother George Spoor and his wife Sally of Ravena, New York; and a very special and dearest friend, Marilynn McAneny.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York. The Greenville American Legion Post #291 Ladies Auxiliary held services at the funeral home on Monday evening, May 31, 2004. Interment was at Chestnut Lawn Cemetery.
Those who wish may contribute in Margie's memory to the Westerlo Rescue Squad, Inc., or to the Alzheimer's Association.

ROSE GOODRICH
Rose Goodrich, 65 years, of Freehold and Preston Hollow, New York, passed away at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, New York, on May 30, 2004. She was born in Schenectady, New York, on November 5, 1938, daughter of the late Charles C. and Olivia (Northrup) Pitt. She was a former chambermaid at Mullan's in East Durham, New York. Her husband Vernon Goodrich predeceased her in 1967.
Surviving are a son, Charles Goodrich of Freehold, New York; four sisters, Lillie Wickham of Acra, New York, Florence Morby of Albany, New York, Olivia Lovano of Mechanicville, New York, and Julie Willenbucher of Earlton, New York; a brother, Charles Pitt of Victory, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 3, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

ALBERT BARON
Albert Baron, 88 years, of Norton Hill, New York, passed away at the Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill, New York on June 1, 2004. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on August 27, 1915.
Albert had worked for the Bond Bakery in Albany, New York and also worked his farm and was a well known nurseryman in the Greenville, Norton Hill and Durham area. He was also a former member of the James Austin Lodge F. & A.M.
Surviving are a son, James Baron and his wife Arlene of Norton Hill; a daughter, Irma Roe of Catskill; three grandchildren, James Baron, Jr., John and his wife Lora, Robin and his wife Joni; two great-grandchildren, Jared and Joshua Roe and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel, two sisters and a brother.
As to his wishes cremation was at the Albany Rural Cemetery and services at the convenience of the family.

TIMOTHY J. BOERTLEIN
Timothy J. Boertlein, 56 years, of Greenville, New York, passed away at his home on June 4, 2004, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Flushing, New York on September 15, 1947, son of Ann (Ferry) Boertlein and the late Julius Boertlein. Before his ill health, Timothy was a special investigator for various state, federal and private agencies.
Surviving are his mother, Ann (Ferry) Boertlein; his wife, Janet (VonBurgsdorff) Boertlein; a stepdaughter, Karen Carman and her husband, Neil; a stepson, Robert Rotzol and his wife Stacy; step-grandchildren, Justin Carman and Faye Rotzol; a brother, William Boertlein and his wife Patricia; two sisters, Margaret Taubes, Dr. Eve Boertlein; his nephews, Thomas Taubes and his wife Sheri, Jeremy Taubes; a niece, Julie Taubes and an uncle, Patrick Murphy. He was predeceased by his father, Julius Boertlein and a brother, Eugene Boertlein.
Funeral service was Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. from the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Friends called at the funeral home Monday. Interment was in the Greenville Cemetery. PATRICIA WILSON
Patricia Wilson, 58 years, of Conesville, New York, passed away at the Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill, New York on June 4, 2004. She was born in Catskill, New York on October 8, 1945. When she was younger she worked for the Windham Telephone Company and then became a LPN and worked at the Cobleskill Hospital and the Eden Park Nursing Home.
Surviving are two sons, Samuel Brandow of Middleburgh, New York, and Darcy Brandow and his wife, Laska of Colorado; a grandson, Marcus Brandow; two sisters, Rhonda Diamond and Dolores Culjak, her foster mother Lorna VanHoesen and her caregivers, George and Laura Edwards.
Graveside service and interment was Wednesday, 1 p.m. at
the Manorkill Cemetery. Friends
called at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York on
Tuesday evening.

JAMES EDWARD HYATT
James Edward Hyatt, of Preston Hollow, New York, and formerly of Mahopac Falls, New York, died Sunday, June 6, 2004 at the Fireman's Home in Hudson, New York. He was 73. He was born in Baldwin Place, New York, on October 17, 1930, the son of James L. and Clara Head Hyatt.
James was a life member and past chief of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. He also served as a former Putnam County Fire Coordinator with the designation County Car One.
He was employed as a well driller with P.F. Beal & Son in Brewster, New York, retiring in 1985.
On June 9, 1950 he married Joan Lockwood at the Red Mills Baptist Church in Mahopac Falls. In addition to his wife of Preston Hollow, he is survived by his son Jack and his wife Christine of Ravena, Linda S. Schaeffler and her husband Edward of Carmel, New York; his brother Douglas of Mahopac Falls; his sisters, Helen Eastwood of Pawling, Viola Benjamin of Mahopac Falls, and Mildred Austin of Windsor, New York; his grandchildren, Brandi Schaeffler and Edward Schaeffler; and many nieces and nephews. His sisters, Shirley Sweet and Marion Sprague died earlier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10 at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 Route 6, Mahopac, New York, with the Rev. James Harrison officiating. Interment will be at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery in Mahopac Falls. Donations in his memory may be made to the Fireman's Home, 125 Harry Howard Ave., Hudson, NY 12534 or to the volunteer fire department of your choice.

GOLDIE ANNE KROPP
Goldie Annie Kropp, 85 years, of Rensselaerville, New York,
passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany, New
York. She was known for her joyful
spirit, contagious sense of humor and kidding remarks.
Goldie was born in Chase Lake, New York, on December 29, 1919, daughter
of the late Alexander and Elizabeth "Badics" Molnar.
She graduated from Berne-Knox Central School in the class of 1936.
Goldie was the wife of the late John Kropp and together they ran a dairy
farm for many years. For the last 32 years, she worked for Hickory Hill.
Goldie was an extremely active member of the Hiawatha Grange for 60
years, a charter member of the Rensselaerville Ladies Battalion, of which she
served as secretary for many years until her illness earlier this year.
She was formerly a defensive driving instructor for the certified points
reduction course for New York State.
A son, Thomas J. Kropp and his wife Donna of Rensselaerville, New York; a grandson, Jeremy Kropp of Albany, New York; and a granddaughter, Jaclyn Kropp of Ithaca, New York, survive Goldie. Also surviving are her sisters, Helen Stradley of College Station, Texas, and Irene Bodi and her husband Michael of East Greenbush, New York; a brother, Joseph Farkas, Jr. and his wife Vera of Westerlo, New York; and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Margaret Gardiner, predeceased Goldie.
Funeral service was on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York. The Hiawatha Grange and the Rensselaerville Ladies Battalion also conducted services. Interment was in the Rensselaerville Cemetery.
Those who wish may contribute in Goldie's memory to St. Peter's Hospice or the Rensselaerville Ladies Battalion.

CONSTANCE DENTON
Constance Denton, 76 years, of Kudlack Road, Greenville, New York, passed away June 8, 2004, at the St. Peter's Hospice Inn following a prolonged illness. She was born in New York City on June 16, 1927, daughter of the late William and Constance (Windus) Futterer.

Funeral service, with the Reverend Donald Lyon officiating, was Friday, June 11, 2004, at the First Baptist Church of Westerlo. Interment is in the Greenville Cemetery. Those who desire may contribute in her memory to the First Baptist Church of Westerlo.

SHIRLEY BAKER
Shirley Marie Baldwin Baker, a former longtime Pleasantville resident, died October 9, 2003 in Ossining, New York. She was 83. Mrs. Baker was born in Hannacroix, New York on August 20, 1920, the daughter of Charles V. and Clara (Hotaling) Baldwin. She was a 1938 graduate of Ravena High School and a 1941 graduate of the Syracuse University School of Nursing. While at Ravena High School, she was co-valedictorian, played varsity basketball and was active in the 4-H program.
In January 1943 she married Arthur L. Baker. He died in March of 2003.
While living in Pleasantville she was active in the Pleasantville Twigs, ran well baby clinics and did volunteer physical therapy. She also was a volunteer at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, New York.
Mrs. Baker was a very active member of Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, at various times held all church offices and taught Sunday School.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara B. Dailey of Syracuse, New York and a son, Charles Baker of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 23 at Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, 400 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, New York 10570. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers donations to Pleasantville Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund in her memory would be appreciated.
Arrangements were by the Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville.

PEARL MACKEY HASKINS
Pearl Mackey Haskins, 104 years, of Medusa, New York, passed away at her home on June 22, 2004. She was born in Preston Hollow, New York on March 18, 1900, daughter of the late Austin C. and Bertie (White) Mackey.
Pearl was baptized in 1915 when Rev. Hook was the minister at the Christian Church later called the Christian Congregationalist now the United Church of Christ. Pearl was the church organist when Rev. Simon Lyman was minister for several years. She was a member of the Ladies Fellowship of the Church, past president of the Rebecca Lodge, having worked her way through the chairs, a member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Oak Hill for many years, a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clark White American Legion Post No. 589, the Clematis Club, the Potter Hollow Grange and the Medusa Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She taught in many district schools before going to the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk District in 1954, retiring from there in 1965.
Pearl and her husband, Henry Haskins, sold their farm and stock in 1965 due to Henry's ill health. They spent winters in Florida and summers in the north after the sale of their farm until Henry's death in 1977. In 1981 Pearl purchased the Ralph Disbrow property in Medusa, where she lived until her death.
Pearl leaves her niece Elizabeth Jennings of Syracuse, New York, and a nephew, Lawrence Mackey of Glenmont, New York, and her nephew Malcolm Bard's widow, Virginia Bard of Niskayuna, New York.
A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Warren Beeman at the United Church of Christ in Medusa, New York on Sunday, June 27 at 1 p.m. There will be a dinner immediately following the service at the Medusa Vol. Firehouse to which relatives and friends are invited. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, New York 12083.
As to her wishes she has made an anatomical donation to the Albany Medical College. Those who wish may contribute in Pearl's memory to the United Church of Christ in Medusa, New York.

FRANCIS J. SARACIONE
Francis J. Saracione, age 66 years, of Route 51, Hannacroix, died June 17, 2004, at his residence after a long illness.
He was born in the Bronx, New York January 15, 1938, and was the son of the late Louis C. and Theresa C. (Bastone) Saracione.
Francis was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Coxsackie. During Korea, he served on the U.S.S. Wisconsin Association Battleship BB64 in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1958. He was a member of VFW No. 1094 of Ravena.
During his working career he was employed as an ironworker for the NYC Local No. 361 from 1963 to 1983. He also was a wood crafter and in his later years he owned and operated Frank's Hot Dogs in Hannacroix from 1994 to 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Grace E. (Walsh) Saracione of Hannacroix, New York; two sons, Michael J. Saracione of Earlton, Francis J. Saracione, of North Carolina; four daughters, Susan A. Blanchfield, Patricia L. Smink, both of Indiana, Grace E. Ramnes of Ballston Spa, Gina M. Saracione of Hannacroix; one brother, Louis P. Saracione of West Islip, New York; one sister, Louise Lubrano of Coatsville, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to call at the W.C. Brady's Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, on Monday and Tuesday.
Mass of Christian Burial took place on Wednesday, June 23 at 9 a.m., at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Coxsackie, with Rev. Fr. J. Moyna, Pastor, the Celebrant.
Interment followed in the family plot of St. Mary's Parish Cemetery in Coxsackie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Community Hospice, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414.
