This indenture made the twenty eighth day of January in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred thirty nine between ASHLEY ROWELL of
the town of Coxsackie in the county of Greene, and state of New York of the
first part and CALTERN BRIGGS of town county and state aforesaid of the second
part witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the
sum of eighty five dollars to him in hand paid by the said party of the second
part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted bargained sold
released and conveyed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell release and
convey unto the said party of the second part all that certain lot of land
situate in the town of Coxsackie aforesaid at what is commonly called BAKERS
Landing bounded as follows: beginning at the southwest corner of the land owned
by Baker on the east side of the land and running east on the line of the said
Bakers forty feet thence south forty feet to the said road thence north along
said road forty feet to the place of beginning. Together with all the tenements,
hereditaments and appurtenances tenements belonging and the reversions and
reminders unto issues and __________ thereof and all the estate right title and
interest in law or equity of the said party of the first part of in and to the
same. To have and to hold the above granted premises with the appurtenances unto
the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to their own proper use
and behoof forever and the said party of the first part for himself his heirs
executors and administrators doth hereby covenent with the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns the above granted premises with the
appurtenances in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns against all persons lawfully or equitably
claiming or to claim the whole or any part thereof shall and will warrant and
forever defend. In witnesseth thereof the parties to these presents have
hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals this day and year first above
written.
