This indenture made the thirty first day of December in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred fifty one between Benjamin Briggs
and Eunice, his wife of the Town of Athens, county of Greene, state of New York
parties of the first part and Henry Briggs of the town of Athens, county of
Greene, state of New York aforesaid party of the second part witnesseth that the
said parties of the first part for the consideration of the sum of seventy five
dollars lawful money of the United States of America to them in hand paid by the
said party of the second part at or before the ensealing and delivery of these
presents the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledge and have reviewed, released,
quit claimed and by there presents do hereby release and quit claim unto the
said party of the second part and to his heirs assigns forever all that certain
piece parcel or lot of land situate lying and being in the Town of Athens, said
county of Greene, State of New York at a place called the Upper Village of
Athens and hereunto describing Viz: bounded in the west at the Albany Greene
County road 5Y but on said Turnpike road and on the North by land of Benjamin
Briggs said party of the first part, running east 150 feet and bounded East by
the land of said Benjamin Briggs party of the first part and 62 feet in width
north and south on the east line and bordered south by lots of Henry Stranahan
and Casper V. Van Loan the lands hereby intended to be conveyed are part and
parcel of the Glebe lands of the Lutheran Zion Church of the Village of Athens
subject to a Glebe rent of one dollar sixty two and one half cents per year are
the lands hereby conveyed which said Glebe land above mentioned. The party of
the second part is to pay yearly on the first day of May in each year together
with all and regular the _____ ________
appurtenances therewith belonging or in any line appertaining in and the
revision, revisions, remainder, remainders, boundaries ___________ profits
thereof and also the estate right, title, interest, property, possession, claim
and demand whatsoever as well in law as in equity of said parties of the first
part of __________ in or to the above described premises every part and parcel
thereof with the appurtenances to have and to hold are and _______the above
mentioned and described premises by the ________ the appurtenances unto the said
party of the second part, his heir, assigns forever. In witness whereof the said
parties of the first part have to set their hands and seals this day and year
first above written.
