WEST PALM BEACH, FL---Florence Colle Morgenroth, 95, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2005 in West Palm Beach, FL.
Born on February 28, 1910, Mrs. Morgenroth was a resident of Catskill from 1935 until 1962, when she and her first husband moved to Newburgh, NY.
As the wife of prominent physician Dr. Marion K. G. Colle, when she lived in Catskill she was active in the American Red Cross, the Catskill PTA, the Women’s Medical Auxiliary, the Girl Scouts and the sisterhood of Temple Israel, among other organizations. She had a wide circle of friends and was active in many aspects of the community.
First widowed in 1963, she moved to Larchmont, NY where she met and married Herbert Morgenroth in 1968, before moving to Florida in 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Irene S. Kaplan of Minneapolis, MN and Deanna M. Maneker of Richmond, VA; along with six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Morgenroth was predeceased by her first husband, Dr. M. K. Colle and Mr. Morgenroth, who passed away in 1995.

EAST DURHAM---John “Jack” K. O’Toole, 64, of East Durham, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hudson.
Born Sept. 6, 1941 in New Rochelle, NY, he was the son of the late Francis and Margaret (Collins) O’Toole.
Mr. O’Toole served his country in the US Army. He had retired from AT&T after 30 years of employment. He was a member of the Durham Valley Post American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Knock Council, and was a former member of the New Rochelle Irish Ben. Society.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen (Fiddy) O’Toole; two daughters, Stacy Kilts and her husband Karl of West Coxsackie, Tara Steelman and her husband Gary of Raleigh, NC; a son, S/Sgt. Michael O’Toole of McGuire Air Force Base in NJ; three grandchildren, Robert and Margaret Kilts and Anastasia Steelman; two step-grandchildren, Kyle and Kelly Kilts; two brothers, Francis and James O’Toole; a sister-in-law, Pamela Hawkes and her husband Les; also nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Patrick O’Toole.
Calling hours are Saturday, 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 state Route 81, Greenville.
Funeral services will be Monday, 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Knock Shrine, East Durham.
Interment will be in the Winston Cemetery, East Durham.

RAVENA---Marilyn I. Schmidt, DVM, 52, of Ravena, died suddenly, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005.
Mrs. Schmidt was the daughter of the late George and Irene Schmidt.
She partook and rejoiced in her family’s life and activities, including their farm (horses and livestock), sports, (soccer, skiing, swimming and sailing) as well as school, church, 4-H and scouting activities.
Mrs. Schmidt was a leader in the field of equine veterinary medicine. As the owner of the Equine Clinic at Oaken Croft she tirelessly served the needs of horses and horseman throughout upstate New York for 27 years.
Survivors include her husband F. Richard Lesser; sons Evan Schmidt Lesser; daughter, Taryn Schmidt Lesser; and brothers Michael Schmidt of Boston and Robert Schmidt of Rochester.
Calling hours will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Patrick’s Church, Ravena.

ELIZABETH (BETTY) AGNES WANGEMANN
Beloved mother
SALEM, N.Y.---Elizabeth (Betty) Agnes Wangemann, 93, of Salem, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005 at the home of her son.
She was born July 19, 1912 in Cappel, Germany, the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Bertha Richter Bruning.
She was educated in Cappel and emigrated to the United States in 1930, settling in New York City where she worked for the Sulka Shirt Co. in Manhattan as a seamstress for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Wangemann spent much of her life doing beautiful handwork. Her many needlepoint pictures will be enjoyed by her family in the years to come.
Betty and her husband Erich lived in Purling for many years before she moved to Salem. Mrs. Wangemann spent several of her later years knitting mittens for the holiday mitten tree in Salem.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Barbara Gerber of Salem, a grandson, Robert Gerber Jr. and his fiancée Karin Lopez of Saratoga Springs, granddaughter, Christine Elizabeth Gerber and her special friend John Wynn of Boston, Mass., two great-granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer Lopez, niece Emily Gallagher and nephew, Walter Otten.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wangemann was predeceased by her husband Erich Wangemann, three sisters, Veronica, Emmy, and Mathilda and two brothers, Willy and Herman.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the McClellan Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem.
Calling hours will be conducted 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Devoted father and family man
RAVENA---Robert (Bob) S. Albano, 68, died Sunday, October 2, 2005.
Born and raised in Ravena, he was the son of the late, Honorable Sylvester J. and Frances Albano.
Mr. Albano was Christian Brothers Academy and Hudson Valley Community College Graduate and was employed at Marshall’s Transportation Center in Ravena for more than 35 years. He had a passion for people and loved to spend time with his family. He was a musically talented and giving man, who will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
Survivors include one son, Robert Scott Albano and his wife Cheryl Ann of Marshall, Minnesota; three daughters, Deborah (Henry) Petersen of Saratoga, Cheryl (John) Sheridan of Hannacroix, and Tricia (David) Hartle of Latham; six grandchildren, Jacey and Garianne Sheridan, Jodi Hartle, and Kira, Kayla and Blake Albano; thre step-grandchildren, Kathleen and Lindsay Hartle and Julia Petersen; two brothers, Michael Albano and wife Collette of Ravena, John Albano and wife Nell of Gautier, Mississippi; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Albano was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann Wittenberg Albano.
The family wishes to thank the medical and hospice staff of St. Peter’s Hospital and Kingsway Arms Community for their care and support.

L. ELLIOTT ‘RED’ BRISTOL
Decorated WWII veteran
CLAVERACK---L. Elliot “Red” Bristol, 83, of Route 9H, Claverack, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005 at his residence after a long illness.
Born Jan. 28, 1922, in Hudson, he was the son of the late Louis Elliott Bristol and Helen Thompson Bristol.
He attended schools in Claverack and Hudson and graduated from The Wooster School.
In 1942, he married Nancy Bartlett Sumner of West Hartford, Conn., and later that year joined the United States Army with Headquarters Battery 75th Division Artillery.
While serving in Europe he was attached to a unit providing medical evacuation for the 1st Army. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was discharged in 1945 having earned five battle Stars in the ETP; a Good Conduct Medal; a Victory Medal; the American Theater Campaign Ribbon; and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon.
Following military service he graduated from the Teachers College of Connecticut and taught Junior High Science and Social Studies in the Fairfield School System. In 1957 he joined the Mastic Tile Corp. in Newburgh as Director of Supervisory Training. After a number of Corporate takeovers he became the Director of Quality in Joliet, Ill; Floor Tile Plant Manager for the Ruberoid Company, and Plant Manager for GAF Corp. in Long Beach, Ca., and the Vails Gate, N.Y., Floor Tile Plant.
Mr. Bristol later joined AMTICO Division of American Biltrite Corp. as Plant Manager and Director of Manufacturing in Pennsylvania. One of the most important accomplishments at AMTICO was the winning of an arbitration case which forbade smoking in a workplace which utilized asbestos in the manufacturing process. This in the early days during which there was some controversy regarding the relationship of these two products and lung disease.
After retiring he became bored and in 1988 joined the United States Postal Service in Red Hook, retiring in 2002 as a rural mail carrier. He was honored on the 100 anniversary of free rural mail delivery as the oldest carrier in the 10 county Westchester District.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, L. Elliot Bristol III, of Tivoli, Sandra Kannel of Fayetteville, Pa., and Peter Lynes Bristol of Claverack; five grandchildren, Lela Bristol of London, England, L. Elliot IV of Saugerties, Carney Kannel of Fayetteville, Pa., Kristine Cassan of East Haven, Conn., and Kelly Mentzer of Shippensburg, Pa., and four great-grandchildren, Griffing Kannel of Fayetteville, Elizabeth Cassan of East Haven, Xenia Bristol Edwards of London, and Ethan Mentzer of Shippensburg.
Mr. Bristol was predeceased by a son, David Sumner Bristol and a brother, Robert Thompson Bristol.
There will be no calling hours.
Rev. Anthony Green will conduct private graveside service at the Reformed Dutch Church Cemetery in Claverack at the convenience of the family.

World War II veteran
HUNTER---Edward H. Cole, Sr., 79, died at Eden Park Health Center in Catskill on Oct. 2, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer and a stroke.
Born Oct. 29, 1925 in Tannersville, he was the son of the late William M. Cole and Beatrice (Hummel) Cole.
Mr. Cole served in the Army during World War II. He was the former operator of Fisher’s Garage in Hunter, and employee of Hunter Ski Slope and retired from Hunter-Tannersville School District in 1997 after 33 years of service.
He enjoyed camping, traveling, building bird houses and planters. He was also a member of the Windham-Ashland-Jewett Senior Citizens Club.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ellouise Kirk Benjamin; two daughters, Barbara and husband Harvey Herskovitz of Pittsburgh, PA, Christina Cole and companion Ed Bohtling of Syracuse; three sons, Daniel Cole of Schenectady, Edward Cole, Jr. of McLean, VA, Craig Benjamin and wife Linda of Jewett; seven grandchildren, Sherri Perry of Milford, GA, JoAnn Herskovitz of Milford, GA, Brian Herskovitz of Pittsburgh, PA, Heather Skelly and Kimberley Skelly of Malta, NY, Corey Benjamin of Haines Falls, Chad Benjamin of Elka Park; three great-grandchildren, Kalie, Rachel and Angelia, a sister Blanche Titch of Oneonta, a brother, Robert Cole and wife Allegra of Otega, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Saturday, October 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Aston Baragic Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Elliot Oakes officiating.
Interment will follow at West Kill Community Cemetery.

WESTERLO---Harry F. Krennrich, 89, of Westerlo, died Sept. 30, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Nursing Home in Delmar, NY.
Born Jan. 14, 1916 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Ebert) Krennrich.
He served his country during WWII in the US Army. Until his retirement, he was a postal employee with the U.S. Postal Service out of Catskill.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine (Deckert) Krennrich, and a step-son, Edward Rash of Westerlo.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Madelyne (Brucker) Krennrich in 1978.
As to his wishes Mr. Krennrich was cremated and interment will be in the Round Top Cemetery on Friday, 3 p.m. under the direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 state Route 81, Greenville.

COXSACKIE---Peter T. Hynes, 58, of Terry Lane, Coxsackie, died Oct. 5, 2005 at his residence.
Born April 28, 1947 in Catskill, he was the son of the late Donald James and Anne Margaret (McGuigan) Hynes.
At the time of his death, Mr. Hynes was employed by the village of Coxsackie as a Deputy Treasurer, and during his lifetime he was employed by the Greene county Bank and the former Catskill Savings Bank, as well as the Grossman and Marshall & Sterling insurance companies.
Mr. Hynes was a certified financial representative for Securities America and was a member of the Coxsackie Knights of Columbus #548, a member of Coxsackie Hose Company No. 3, a former Village of Coxsackie Trustee, a Coxsackie Democratic Committeeman and Democratic Club member. He was also a coach and manager for the Coxsackie Little League for many years.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at the W.C. Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, on Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

MARTINSBURG, Pa.---Ollena P. Lykens, 95, formerly of Somerset and Williamsburg, PA went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 5, 2005, at Homewood in Martinsburg, PA.
Born December 31, 1909 in Morgantown, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late Rev. D.R. and Mary Agnes (Twigg) Moreland. She married the Rev. David N. Lykens on Sept. 22, 1944. He passed away Aug. 23, 1998.
Mrs. Lykens attended Kenmore High School in Akron, Ohio, and was a member of the Everett Church of God, Everett, Pa. She was a minister in the Church of God state of Pennsylvania, was involved in the music worship ministry in all of the churches in which she and her husband pastured, and was previously employed at the Church of God state office in Somerset, Pa.
Survivors include a daughter, the Rev. Retta L. Lykens of Cairo; three grandchildren, Holly, Heidi, and Corey; and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lykens was predeceased by her husband and a sister, Lourenna M. Smith.
Friends were received Oct. 6, 2005 at the John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc. from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Friday at the Williamsburg Church of God, Williamsburg, Pa., with the Rev. Retta Lykens and the Rev. Larry Lykens officiating. Interment will be made at Oreminea Cemetery, RR 2, Williamsburg, Pa.

WINDHAM---Stanley Kakalios, 72, of Windham died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Born on Jan. 16, 1933 in Queens, NY, he was the son of George and Evangelia (nee Janul) Kakalios.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Nicholas Kakalios.
Survivors include his nephew, James Kakalios and wife Therese and nieces Christina Pesce, Maria Brooks, and Stephanie Kakalios. He was also great-uncle of Thomas, Laura, and David Kakalios and Vincent and Emily Pesce.
Local calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at Decker Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Windham.
Calling hours will also be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16 at Joseph Farenga and Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 38-08 Ditmars Blvd., Astoria, NY.

STANLEY A. MAGEE
Centenarian
WEST CAMP---Stanley A. Magee, 105, of Route 9W, West Camp died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005 at his residence after a brief illness.
Born Jan. 10, 1900 in West Camp, in the year William McKinley began his second term as president, he was the son of the late Clifford and Emma Coon Magee.
As a child, he clearly remembered the wagons and stage coaches on unpaved roads in Ulster County and steamboats on the Hudson River carrying passengers and freight.
He attended the one room schoolhouse in West Camp and started his first job working for the Knickerbocker Ice Company in Malden, cutting ice in the Hudson River.
From 1930 to the 1950s, he worked for Knaust Brothers, the world’s leading mushroom industry at that time. He began as a picker in the caves on Delaware Avenue in Kingston and later worked as a driver for the company collecting manure from race tracks and farms to be used in the growing process. He eventually became their top mechanic.
He was an over 50-year member and charter member of the Malden-West Camp Fire Company.
He was predeceased by his wife Nellie H. Magee in 1998, and also by brothers Harry and William Magee.
Survivors include his son, Richard Magee of Saugerties; a sister, Hazel Wynne of West Camp; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Corner of John & Lafayette Street, Saugerties.
Interment will follow in the Town of Catskill Cemetery in Catskill.

ATHENS---Tina Marie Conrad (Favicchio), 49, of Stafford Springs, Conn., died Oct. 8, 2005 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Connecticut.
Tina was born in Catskill June 9, 1956, and was the daughter of Samuel and Jean (Kardum) Favicchio of Athens.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday,
Oct. 13, 2005, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Athens with the Rev.
Fr. J. Nunan, pastor of the Sacred Heart Church of Cairo the celebrant.
Interment will follow in the family plot of the New Athens Rural Cemetery.
Tina was a graduate of Coxsackie-Athens High School, Class of 1976. At one time, she was employed by the Carrol Corp. restaurant chain. She moved to Connecticut in 1993, making her home in Stafford Springs.
Tina loved country music, soap operas, collecting movie memorabilia and collecting novel plates.
Besides her parents, she is survived y her husband, Lyle S. Conrad Jr. and her daughter Melinia Conrad, both of Connecticut; two brothers, Ralph Favicchio of Athens and Samuel (Bo) Favicchio of South Cairo; three sisters, Gina Berry, Holly Favicchio and Mary Dickson, all of Athens; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

MANCHESTER, Conn.---Loretta (Bowes) Luka, 83, a longtime resident of Manchester, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Hunter, the daughter of the late Owen and Caroline (Stanley) Bowes, she was a 1940 graduate of Hunter-Tannersville Central School and attended Holy Cross College in New York.
Loretta had retired from the Labor Department with the State of Connecticut, was a member of the Irish American Home of Glastonbury, and was an avid card player.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Luka and Allison Caron-Luka of North Granby, Conn.; her grandson, Joseph Caron; two brothers, John Bowes of North Carolina and Joseph Bowes of West Haven, Conn.; two sisters, Theresa Kraus of Tennessee and Genevieve Cotton of New York.
She was predeceased by her brother, James Bowes, and her sister, Veronica Botti.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, with interment in St. James Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.

WINDHAM---Stanley Kakalios, 72, of Windham died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Born on Jan. 16, 1933 in Queens, NY, he was the son of George and Evangelia (nee Janul) Kakalios.
He was a retired teacher who later became a deputy district superintendent for the New York City Board of Education.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Nicholas Kakalios.
Survivors include his nephew, James Kakalios and wife Therese and nieces Christina Pesce, Maria Brooks, and Stephanie Kakalios. He was also great-uncle of Thomas, Laura, and David Kakalios and Vincent and Emily Pesce.
Local calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at Decker Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Windham.

He was the son of James and Catherine Palmieri of Smithtown, Long Island.
He moved to Westkill in 1989 with his parents and resided in Tannersville with his wife, Karolina Zipinska Palmieri. Both were employed at the Villa Vosilla Resort.
John loved music and ministered on the keyboard at Living Water Full Gospel Church in Hunter, which he attended. He visited Poland on four occasions and loved it very much.
Survivors include his wife and parents; a brother, James of Hunter; a nephew, Samuel Palmieri; and niece Victoria Palmieri.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Aston-Basagic Funeral Home in Hunter. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. John O’Brien.

Born March 16, 1914 in Gilboa, she was the daughter of Frank and Sadie Shelp Van Loan.
She started teaching in a one room schoolhouse in Little Westkill and also taught in Preston Hollow and Feura Bush. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel.
Survivors include her sister, Hildah White of Prattsville and a nephew, Larry Minew of Wisconsin.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16 at Aston-Basagic Funeral Home in Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 at the Prattsville United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Elliot Oaks.

Mrs. Greco attended and was a graduate of Catskill High School. She owned and operated Nell’s Novelty Shops in Catskill and Tannersville prior to her retirement, and was a communicant at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Catskill.
Survivors include her husband, Peter A. Greco, Sr. of Catskill; a son, Peter A. Greco and fiancée Kathleen McMann, both of Palenville; and adopted daughter, Sandy Stickles of Greenport; a god-daughter, Eleanor Kinney of Hudson; two sisters, Patricia O’Bryon and husband Donald of Catskill, and Gail Jones of Lawrenceville; two brothers, Al Jones and wife Jane of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Robert Jones and wife Carol of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

SAUGERTIES---Marion C. Koniuk, 86, of Old Lasher Road, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at the Kingston City Hospital after a brief illness.
Born October 19, 1918 in the Town of Ulster, she was the daughter of the late Granville and Myrtle (Myers) Rider. A lifetime area resident, she was a member of the Flatbush Reformed Church and a member of the church choir.
Mrs. Moniuk belonged to the Saugerties Bowlers Club and also bowled in the IBM Bowling League. She was an avid reader, knitter and seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, John Koniuk, as well as several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
Mrs. Koniuk was predeceased by a brother, Charles Rider, in August 2005.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Sunday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., located at the corner of John and Lafayette Streets, with the Rev. Howard Smith officiating.

CATSKILL---Frank Petramale, 79, of 65 Austin Acres, Catskill, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born Oct. 15, 1925 in Athens, he was the son of the late Frank A. and Antoinette (Greco) Petramale.
Mr. Petramale received an honorable discharge from the United States Navy in 1946, after serving as a Radio Communications Officer during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters of Operations.
In 1952, Mr. Petramale qualified as a journeyman auto mechanic, after completing four years of apprenticeship training under standards approved by the New York State Departments of Labor and Education. The following year, after two years spent designing and fabricating a custom sports car, Mr. Petrramale won two awards for his talent and ability at the Windham Mountain Top Rally.
After completing the necessary requirements as a Vocational Instructor of Auto Mechanics at SUNY at Oswego, Mr. Petramale was awarded his teacher’s certification. He worked at Coxsackie Correctional Facility as a senior Vocational Instructor for 25 years, teaching autobody repair, automotive technology and welding, retiring in 1981.
Mr. Petramale married Carol Santini on June 29, 1968, and they were happily married for 37 years. He was a devoted family man, and with Carol, lovingly raised their three children in Catskill.
Mr. Petramale was a communicant at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Catskill.
A creative and inventive thinker, Mr. Petramale had many hobbies, including beekeeping, gardening, and restoring cars.
Survivors include his wife, Carol (Santini) Petramale of Catskill; two sons, Frank R. Petramale and wife Jennifer of Poughkeepsie, Paul Petramale and wife Jennifer of Athens; a daughter, Theresa Kaness and husband Matthew of Yardley, PA; three sisters, Lillian Altimari, Margaret Petramale, Ann Pomellitto and husband Sam; three grandsons, Michael, Nicholas, and Samuel; two granddaughters, Marisa and Isabella; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

COXSACKIE---Mildred A. (Hupka) Gangi Hynes, 71, died Wednesday, October 14, 2005, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born Feb. 27, 1934, in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Julie Hupka.
Mrs. Hynes graduated from Long Island City High School in 1951 and went on to the State University at Fredonia, NY, graduating in 1955. She was a teacher for 33 years at the Catskill central School District and also taught in Arizona and Tennessee.
After retiring from teaching, she worked for the Child Protective Services of the Greene County Department of Social Services.
Mrs. Hynes has been a communicant of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Athens, and a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Coxsackie.
Survivors include her husband, James D. Hynes, of Coxsackie; two sons, Salvatore C. Gangi of Poughkeepsie, and Russell M. Gangi of Acra; a niece, Joan Murphy of Bloomfield, NJ; a nephew Anthony Micko of Highlands, NJ; and also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

WINDHAM---Alfred R. Bouley, 84, of Windham died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 at Samaritan hospital in Troy after a brief illness.
Born on June 23, 1921 in Nashua, NH, he was the eighth child of Ovid and Eva Bouley.
A decorated World War II pilot, POW survivor and flight instructor, Fred also served his country with heroism and pride. In addition to the Purple Heart, Fred also wore the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the European Theater Ribbon with two stars.
In 1945, he married Marie A. Gomez, his wife of 54 years, who predeceased him in 2000. After a successful career spanning 35 years and three continents, Fred and Marie moved to Windham in 1983 where they enjoyed a productive and family-centered retirement.
Survivors include their three children, Helen Exum of Windham, John Bouley of Raleigh, NC and Maureen Werther of Guilderland; seven grandchildren: Sean, Brendan and Connor Exum, Seamus and Colleen Werther, and Harmony and Trevor Bouley; and five great grandchildren: Brittney, Hannah, Katherine and Victoria Exum and Nathaniel Exum.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Windham.

CATSKILL---Millard Weisinger, 81, of 84 Ufferts Road, Catskill died suddenly Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born March 2, 1924 in East Hempstead, he was the son of the late Louis and Jeanette (Carman) Weisinger.
Millard served in the United States Army during World War II. He was stationed in the European Theater of Operations and was a prisoner of war in Germany.
He was an employee of Hempstead Plating on Long Island prior to his retirement and has been a Catskill resident since 1970. Millard was noted for his polishing efforts on brass and copper and was sought out by antique dealers for specialty work.
Survivors include his wife, Alice J. (Stevenson) Weisinger of Catskill; four children: Jena Atwood and husband Steve of South Carolina, Millard Weisinger Jr. of Acra, Pamela Bouton and husband George of Patchogue, L.I., and Robert Weisinger and wife Melissa of Catskill; two brothers, Frederick Weisinger of Athens and Benjamin Weisinger of Catskill; nine grandchildren: Jennifer, Ronald, William, Joshua, Jeremiah, Jeanette, George IV, Kelly and Robert Jr.; four great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

WEST KILL---Lawrence A. Dwon, 60, of West Kill died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005 at Benedictine Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New York City on May 20, 1945, he was the son of Lawrence and Mary (Skala) Dzwonczyk.
Larry enlisted in the Marine Corps and served his country in Vietnam in 1967. After returning from Vietnam, he enrolled in Utah State University and received a degree in fine arts. He was a professional photographer and also taught photography for many years. Larry was an excellent golfer and loved the outdoors.
He was the Fire Chief of the Town of Lexington Fire Company from 1992 to 1995 and from 1997 to 2005 and was extremely proud of the accomplishments, professionalism and dedication of his fellow firefighters.
He was very proud of the young people who joined the Junior Firefighters program he initiated for the company. Larry was especially proud of his sons and daughter-in-law, who will carry on his legacy of serving their community in the fire and rescue service.
He was President of the Greene County Fire Investigation Team, Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of Lexington and Fire Warden. He had a lawn and landscaping business and managed a ski shop during the winter months.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Christine; two sons, Matthew and Paul; a daughter-in-law, Liza; his father, Lawrence, of West Kill; and his brother Roger and his wife Jenni and their three children Andy, Mary and Sara of Columbus, Ohio.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary.
Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the Aston-Basagic Funeral Home in Hunter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ellen Oliveto officiating.

Born Nov. 7, 1914 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Leontina (Pica) Tierno.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Romeo was employed at the Victory Market in Cairo and in Catskill. She was also a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church in Palenville, and was a member of the Blue Army in Palenville.
Mrs. Romeo has been an area resident since 1966. She liked cooking and was dedicated to her family.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph Romeo of Long Island, Peter Romeo and Michael Romeo, both of Catskill; a daughter, Phyllis C. Abrahamsen of Catskill; two brothers, Pat Tierno and Anthony Tierno, both of Long Island; and a sister, Rose D’Orta of Long Island.

HUDSON---Kenneth VanSchaack, 97, of Kingsbury Drive in Chesapeake, Virginia, formerly of Union Street in Hudson, died Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the Autumn Care Nursing Center in Chesapeake.
Born Sept. 18, 1908 in Athens, he was the son of the late Peter and Minnie (Steenberg) VanSchaack.
Mr. VanSchaack was employed at the Atlas Cement Plant before retiring. Previously, he worked at the Lorbrook Textile Mill in Hudson.
Mr. VanSchaack served in the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II. He was an avid photographer and paper and coin collector.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Hudson and a lifelong area resident until moving to Virginia five years ago to live with his grandson, Jeff VanSchaack.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Jeff VanSchaack of Chesapeake, VA, Kenneth VanSchaack of Indiana, Angela Patterson of Poughkeepsie, and Katrina Siple of New Paltz; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. VanSchaack was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude (Klima) VanSchaack; a son, Kenneth VanSchaack, and his brothers and sisters.

Mr. Weis served in the U.S. Navy and his hobby was his work as a self-employed contractor.

Born Oct. 12, 1925 in Belleville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Semerad) Eckstein.
Ms. Eckstein spent most of her weekends in Coxsackie until she retired from the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company, and then became a full-time resident of Coxsackie.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Town and Country Business & Professional Women, the Coxsackie Republican Club, and also the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society.
Ms. Eckstein was a past president and secretary of the All-American Rodeo Co., and associate member of the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association. She called herself—and truly was—“Amazing Grace.”
Survivors include two brothers, George Eckstein of Coxsackie and Howard Eckstein of New Jersey; and a niece, Elaine V. Osowiecky of New Jersey.

GREENVILLE---Ruth C. Fritz, 90, of Rensselaerville, died suddenly at her home on October 18, 2005.
Born April 12, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Charlotte (Pommerank) Spielmann.
A community-minded woman, Mrs. Fritz was a member of the Myosotis Home Bureau, the Clematis Garden Club, former Recording Secretary of the Hilltown Seniors, former member of the Rensselaerville Volunteer Fire company Ladies Auxiliary and held many offices in the Clark White American Legion Post #589 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Fritz was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rensselaerville, Treasurer of the Trinity Guild and member of the Washington National Cathedral.
She and her beloved husband celebrated 60 devoted years of marriage in March 2005.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph C. Fritz, Sr. of Rensselaerville; two sons, Joseph C. Fritz, Jr. and his wife Janet of Sunset Beach, NC, and Stephen L. Fritz, Sr. of Rensselaerville; a brother, Henry Spielmann and his wife Helen of Ramona, OK; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fritz was predeceased by her daughter, Judith Anne Fritz.
Friends may call at the Cunningham Funeral Home at 4898 Route 81 in Greenville on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2005 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rensselaerville.

CAIRO---Joseph Michael Nawrocki Jr., 73 of Cairo, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Born Sept. 1, 1932 in Livingston, he was the son of the late Joseph M. Nawrocki, Sr. and Alice Jakubowski) Nawrocki.
Mr. Nawrocki served for more than 20 years with the U.S. Air Force, including time served in Vietnam. After retiring from the service, he had several jobs and most recently was employed at Windham Country Club, where he enjoyed the outdoor work and the people with whom he worked.
The two most important things that Mr. Nawrocki worked for were his family and his music. At a young age, he taught himself to play the accordion by ear and never learned to read a single note of music. At the age of 15, he played in his first band, “The Penguins,” and continued his musical career up until his recent illness. His enjoyments in life included taking his grandchildren fishing and spending vacation time in Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Katherine “Kate” (Neely) Nawrocki, whom he married May 21, 1959 in Arlington, VA; three daughters, Karen and Richard Suppa of Utica, Sharon and Michael Race of Hudson, and Kathleen Watt of Acra; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy Brown of Greendale, Mary and Ralph Grand of Stottville, Janice Clow of Hudson, Venecia and Lewis Rubino of Greendale; one brother and sister-in-law, Irvin and Gloria Nawrocki of Germantown; grandchildren Nicholas Suppa, Joseph Race, Michael Race, Maxwellina and Ramon Watt; and one great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Race.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Yadack-Fox funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.

WINDHAM---James Edwin Traver, 70, of Fort Meyers, Fla., formerly of Prattsville, died suddenly on Oct. 7, 2005.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1934 in Prattsville to Raymond and Adellia (Layman) Traver. He was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother Raymond. He is survived by his sisters Marjorie Gardner and Josephine Van Valkenburgh; his brother Robert Traver and sister in-law Sandra Traver; and several nieces and nephews.
He served in the Peace Corps in India and taught English as a second language in Saudi Arabia, Iran and Italy. He was an active member of the Palenville Episcopal Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Decker Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Windham on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with the rev. John Miller, pastor of the Palenville Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Prattsville.

HUNTER---Giselda Coccellato, 72, of Hunter, died Friday night, October 7, 2005 at the Kaaterskill Skilled Nursing Care in Catskill, NY.
She was born June 16, 1933 to Nicola and Traina Gicalone in Tunisia, North Africa.
She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a selfless person who put her family first. Always hard-working, she stood by her husband Marco’s side and established a successful family business that is still thriving to this day.
She is survived by her husband Marco, daughter Alida, son Bart, and her three grandchildren, Katherine, Mark, and Jennifer.
Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial were celebrated on Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Haines Falls. Rev. Anthony Motta was the officiant.
Interment followed in the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery in Elka Park.

Mr. Harris was the co-proprietor of the economy Store in Stamford.
He was a member of the Hunter Synagogue, Congregation Kol Yisroyal Anshai of Hunter.
Survivors include a niece, Sonya Wechler; three nephews, Marc Harris, Jeffrey Harris and Harry L. Rubin.
Mr. Harris was predeceased by Leon, Samuel and George Harris; and two sisters, Dorothy Rubin and Janet Gordon.
Funeral services were held Oct. 12 at the Kol Anshe Yisroel Cemetery in South Jewett, with the Rabbi Daniel Fried officiating.

Born April 3, 1919 in Texas, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Pruden.
Mrs. Kinser was a former member of the Braniff Book Club and the Braniff Garden Club, both in Dallas.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Kinser, with whom she recently celebrated her 64th wedding anniversary; one daughter, Donna K. Vale of Saugerties; on son, Douglas Kinser of Irving, Texas; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kinser was predeceased by a brother, Brent R. Pruden; and a sister, Marie Betty Pruden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. at the corner of John and Lafayette Streets with the Rev. Jeffrey Turczyn, Pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Saugerties, officiating.

HUDSON---William Henry Leavitt, 93, of Hudson, died Friday, October 21, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born December 16, 1911 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Jesse Washington Leavitt and Anna (Helmer) Leavitt.
Mr. Leavitt was a machinist at the V&O Press for 35 years before retiring.
He was an avid hiker and the first charter member of the Catskill 3500 Club. He also belonged to the Adirondack 46ers, the New England 4000 Footers, and the Northeast 111 Club, having climbed all the peaks in New York and New England over 4,000 feet in elevation.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Ann L. and David L. Clapper of Hudson; a son and daughter-in-law, W. Richard and Kathy Leavitt of Hudson; a grandson, Scott Anthony Leavitt of Winston Salem, NC; and three nephews.
Mr. Leavitt was predeceased by his wife, Elinore (Godshalk) Leavitt; and a brother, Edward Jefferson Leavitt.

World War II Veteran, Former Athens Village Mayor
ATHENS---Anthony J. Scott, Sr., 86, died Friday, October 21, 2005.
Born March 27, 1919, he was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Appa) Scott.
Mr. Scott served his country during World War II in the 11th Airborne Division, was awarded the Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 6, 1945.
He was a member of the Makawomuc Fire Department and was Mayor of the Village of Athens from 1975 to 1981. He owned and operated the Athens Sweet Shoppe and Liquor Store from 1970 to 1980. He loved to dance.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Amelia M. Vizzie; his children, Michael and wife Joann, Anthony Jr. and wife Laura, Ralph (Joe) Scott and wife Debbie, all of Athens; grandchildren Michael, Patti-Ann, Robert, Anthony III, Louis, Ryan, and Joseph; his brothers and sisters Louis Scott of Woodburne, NY; Marie (Carmella) Taylor Scott of Coxsackie; and Michael Scott of Coxsackie.
Mr. Scott was predeceased by his brother, Bruno Scott, in 1998.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Monday at the Richards Funeral Home, 28 N. Vernon Street in Athens.
The Makawomuc Fire Department will hold services in his memory Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by an American Legion service at 8 p.m.

Born in Schodack on Sept. 1, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Rose Kellam.
Olive was active in the Climax Grange and supported the Earlton Volunteer Fire Department. For over 25 years she was a devoted member of the Earlton Ladies Auxillary. She spent her life raising her family and managing the farm.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred and her parents.
She is survived by her loving family, Al and Chris, Gene and Grace, Bill and Deb Schnare and Rosemary Schieren and fiancé Bill Valk. Survivors also include her grandchildren: Cindy Speanburg and friend Stephen Kohler, Dale Schnare, Kerri and Chris Hughes, Heather and Bill Marx, Tyson and Vicky Schieren, Sara and Brian Statham, Evan and Melissa Schieren, Darren Schnare, Jessica Schnare and her fiancé Shawn Brundage and Gregory Schnare; her great grandchildren Lauren Speanburg, Emily and Brie Statham, Brady Hughes and Abby and Jack Marx; two sisters, Mary Kellam and Phyllis Skidmore; a brother, Everett Kellam; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

VALATIE---William Lester Losee, Sr., 73, of Tivoli Gardens in Tivoli, formerly of Sharptown Road in Stuyvesant, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 in the Baptist Nursing Home in Rhinebeck.
Born in Hudson on December 2, 1931, he was the son of ht elate Sylvanus and Margaret (Leach) Losee.
Mr. Losee was a veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Army, Company C, 7th Infantry. He was employed as a Senior Offset Pressman for the Hamilton Printing company in East Greenbush.
Mr. Losee was an assistant with the CYO program at St. John the Baptist Church in Valatie as well as an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 113 in Kinderhook. He was also a Lifetime Member of the Stuyvesant Fire Company.
Survivors include his two sons, William L. Losee, Jr. of Vermont and Robert M. Losee of Durham; one sister, Margaret “Rita” Santos of East Park, NY; a beloved companion, Barbara Farmer of Tivoli; and two grandsons, Joshua Martin Losee, and Corbin Lique. He is also survived by several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Losee was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Ann (Johnson) Losee in 1987, and his son, Scott Wayne Losee.

RAVENA---Violet A. Rubino, 88, a long-time resident of Earlton passed away Sunday at Columbia Memorial Hospice after a short illness.
Born in Mount Vernon, New York on Sept. 2, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Cestone.
Mrs. Rubino is survived by her husband Joseph, of 57 years, her daughter Mary and son-in-law Roger Kibbey of Earlton.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Rocco Cestone and three sisters, Florence Cestone, Michelina O’Sullivan and Catherine Telesco.
Mrs. Rubino was a very religious person. As a young woman she sang in the church choir. She worked as a waitress and later became a manager and troubleshooter for F.W. Woolworth’s based in White Plains, traveling to other stores.
Later she became the book-keeper and secretary for her husband’s optical business in Earlton. She was a former member of the Earlton Ladies Auxiliary and Earlton Fish and Game Club.
Mrs. Rubino was a quiet person who loved reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, walking and doing things with her family, as well as helping with projects for her daughters students. She was very talented in knitting and crocheting.
Mrs. Rubino will be missed by all who knew her.
In accordance with her wishes all services will be private at the convenience of her family.

Theresa donated her body to science, a gift to the Albany Medical College.

Born on July 18, 1933 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Elwood O. and Elizabeth (Lyons) Friss.
Ms. Friss was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Hudson and St. Peter’s School of Nursing in Albany. She was a Registered Nurse for St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, and the Columbia County Health Department Home for the Aged in Hudson, and was employed with the Hudson Area Library until her retirement.
Survivors include one sister, Maureen Colwell of Leeds; on nephew, Patrick Colwell of Kinderhook; one niece, Margaret A. McNamara of Monroe, four great-nephews, John and Matthew McNamara of Monroe, Matthew V. Colwell of Hudson, and Dylan James Colwell of Kinderhook.
Ms. Friss was predeceased by her brother-in-law, P. James Colwell.

Born Jan. 16, 1931 in Enfield, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Marie Maniscalchi Barone and John Barone.
Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker, a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Murrells Inlet, SC.
She was also a former member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Coxsackie, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and a member of the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include three sons, Harold S. Jenkins and family, and Williams J. Jenkins, both of New York, Christopher M. Jenkins and family of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Joanne M. Hanusik and family of New York; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charlie Barone of Connecticut, and Duke Barone of Arizona.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Harold Jenkins; her parents, and seven brothers and sisters.

EAST DURHAM---Harry R. “Bob” Glover, Jr., 86 years, of East Durham, died at his home on Wednesday, October 26, 2005.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1919, in Brooklyn, son of the late Harry R. and Hulda P. (Lewis) Glover, Sr.
Harry served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force, with the 418th Night Fighter Squadron in the South Pacific (original six member survivor). He was a New York City Fire Department Auxiliary War Time fireman at Engine 280 Truck 132 in Brooklyn. Harry was a fire inspector for the Town of Huntington in Long Island until his retirement. He was also a Town of Huntington housing inspector, chief BFP and a bonded deputy sheriff in Suffolk County for 10 years.
Harry was a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, New York State Association of Fire Chiefs, the East Northport Volunteer Fire Department in Long Island (Fire and Rescue) for 23 years and the Oak Hill-Durham Volunteer Fire Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 291, Greenville and the Tri-County VFW Post 7229, Oak Hill. A member of the Elks Lodge 1314 in Catskill and the Golden Years Senior Citizens Club in Greenville.
Surviving are his wife Doris H. Glover of East Durham, a son Philip Bellois and a daughter Diane Hile, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son Robert Bellois and two sisters Helen Glover and Edna F. Glover.
As to his wishes he was cremated and there will be no service or calling hours.

CORTLAND---Robert L. Swartwout, 64, of 66 Hamlin St., Cortland, NY died October 26, 2005 unexpectedly.
Bob was born Nov 3, 1940 in Cortland, a son of the late LeBaron C. and Virginia Everhart Swartwout.
Bob graduated from Cortland High School in 1958. After graduating he went on to attend the University of Illinois. He returned to begin his own construction business, Robert L. Swartwout Builder, and remained in business for the past 43 years.
Bob was a past member and president of the Cortland YMCA, Y’s Mens Club. He was currently a member of the united Presbyterian Church, the Greater Cortland Community Service Club, Cortland Elks Lodge, University Club, and was very active in the Cortland Youth Hockey programs.
Bob truly loved golfing, hunting, tall tales and especially his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and will be sadly missed.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, brother Peter, grandson J.J. Stiles, step mother Elizabeth Swartwout, and step sister Carol Steiger.
Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Cunningham Swartwout, his son Michael (Kimberly) of Cortland, two daughters, Kellie Swartwout of Homer and Cindra (Jeffrey) Stiles of Cortland, on sister, Susan (William) Steinhaus of Pleasant Valley, his beloved grandchildren Shea and Cooper Swartwout and Michael Stiles, in-laws Lee and Trudy Cunningham and Curt and Nancy Cunningham, all of Greenville, and Carol and Don Reed of Cortland, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, on Friday, Oct. 28, from 4-8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 29, 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Hicks and Rev. Matt Medford officiating. Interment in the Cortland Rural Cemetery will be private.

ELIZAVILLE---Edward D. Demain, 78, of Elizaville died Friday, ct. 28, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born in Yonkers on Dec. 25, 1926, he was the son of the late Michael and Julie Rebel Demian.
A resident of Elizaville since 1972, he was formerly of Yonkers.
Mr. Demian was a final assemblyman in the General Motors plant in Tarrytown for over 30 years. A racing pigeon enthusiast and member of the Northern Catskill Pigeon Club, he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
Survivors include a son Michael Demian of Gallatin; three daughters, Donna Lange of Chatham, Patricia Northup of Elizaville and Kathy Demian also of Chatham; one sister, Irene Maglio of Yonkers; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Emily Ruffino and Helen Kolnick.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 886 Columbia St., Hudson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31 at Nativity/St. Mary’s Church in Stuyvesant Falls. Private cremation will follow in Albany Rural Cemetery and Crematory in Menands.

CATSKILL---Steven M. Palmer, 36, of 60 Maple Ave., Catskill, died suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, in the emergency room at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born Nov. 22, 1968 in Schenectady, he was the son of Alan and Marion (Spaulding) Palmer of 43 North St., Catskill.
Steven was employed as a nurses aide at Albany Medical Center for many years. He loved cameras, computers, nature and also the study of herbal medicines. He was a people person.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his son, Jason; a sister, Audrey Jirard of Catskill; three nieces, Nicole, Angelina and Abigail; a nephew, Nelson; and many uncles and great aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, Bross Street, Cairo. Memorial services will take place on at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Frank Mirocco, pastor of The Church of Athens, officiating.
Private cremation took place at The Albany Rural Crematorium in Menands.

CAIRO---Daniel J. Daly, 42, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born Nov. 14, 1962 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of Timothy and Elizabeth (Buckley) Daly.
Daniel was employed in Watershed Maintenance for the City of New York, Hillview in Yonkers, until his early retirement.
He moved to the Cairo/East Durham area 15 years ago, where he was co-owner of the Irish Lakes Motel, a family operated business.
He was a 26-year member of the AOH, past President of Division 3 NY County and presently member of Division 2; a member of the K of C, Our Lady of Knock Council in East Durham, holding the office of Treasurer and Corporation Chairman; a member of the United County Feis, acting as chairman, and a member of the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural Centre.
He was a member of the IBEW Local #3 electricians and a Line of March Timekeeper for the St. Patrick’s Day parade in New York City.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Knock Shrine, and a loving son, brother and uncle.
Surviving are his parents, Timothy and Elizabeth Daly of Cairo; two sisters, Julia Stock and her husband Harri, of Mahopac, and Bridget Daly of Riverdale; a niece, Irene Stock and two nephews, Timothy and Max Stock, all of Mahopac; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Monday and Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

CAIRO---Dolores M. Keegan, 75, of Old Chatham, formerly of Cairo, died Saturday, October 29, 2005, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Dolores was born in Brooklyn on May 7, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Julia (Sherman) Amoroso.
Funeral services will take place Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Richards Funeral Home, 383 Bross St., Cairo, with the Rev. Retta Lykens, pastor of the Church of Cairo officiating.
Interment will follow in the family plot of the Catskill Rural Cemetery.
Dolores was an avid doll collector and loved animals, reading, opera and crossword puzzles.
Prior to her retirement she was a bookkeeper for the American Thermostat Co. of South Cairo.
She is survived by two sons, Richard of Shelton, Conn., and Lawrence of Saratoga; two daughters, Barbara Wyche of Pinetta, Fla., and Linda Gasparini of Catskill; a brother, Thomas Amorosa of Michigan; two sisters, Jackie Encelimo and Joan Owmbey, both of Long Island; and 10 grandchildren.

Youngest to bowl 300 in CHS varsity bowling
CATSKILL---Jesse Mercier, 19, of Catskill, died suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005.
Jesse was born in Kingston on Dec. 20, 1985 to Ronald and Wanda Grimm Mercier.
In his youth he participated in Pop Warner football and was a cub scout with Troop 44. He was inducted into the Junior Honor Society in Middle School and played baseball with the Catskill High School Varsity team and Bowling team, distinguishing himself as the youngest to bowl a perfect game of 300. He also bowled with the Saturday morning league and was an avid bass guitarist. He graduated from CHS Class of 2004 and attended Long Island University for a semester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s R.C. Church with interment following in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Those attending are requested to meet at the church. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m.

COXSACKIE---Donald Lee Waldron, 69, of 9 Clinton Ave., Catskill, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 at Albany Medical Center.
He was born in Catskill on April 25, 1936 and was the son of the late Donald E. and Vivian D. (Ferrier) Waldron.
Graveside services will take place Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, 11 a.m. at the family plot of the Catskill Town Cemetery, with the Rev. Retta Lykens, pastor of the Cairo United Methodist Church officiating.
Donald was active in Little League baseball activities and many other sports. He loved Bingo, gardening and coffee klatches at the Whole Donut Shop in Catskill, and was a lifetime member of the International Union Local 106 of Albany.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia L. (VanZandt) Waldron of Catskill; a stepson, Charlie Raffiani and wife Diane of Catskill; a stepdaughter, Dawn Raffiani of Catskill; a brother, Douglas Waldron of West Coxsackie; three grandchildren, Lance Cpl. Charles Raffiani, USMC, stationed in Iraq, Jill Raffiani of Cairo and Mikayla Rivenburgh of Catskill.
Cremation will take place at the Albany Rural Cremetory in Menands today.
