CATSKILL – Jesse Mercier, 19, of Catskill, died suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005.
Jesse was born in Kingston on Dec. 20, 1985 to Ronald and Wanda Grimm Mercier.
In his youth he participated in Pop Warner football and was a cub scout with Troop 44. He was inducted into the Junior Honor Society in Middle School and played baseball with the Catskill High School Varsity team and Bowling team, distinguishing himself as the youngest to bowl a perfect game of 300. He also bowled with the Saturday morning league and was an avid bass guitarist. He graduated from CHS Class of 2004 and attended Long Island University for a semester.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s R.C. Church with interment following in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Those attending are requested to meet at the church. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Jesse is survived by his parents, Wanda Grimm Mercier of Catskill and Ron Mercier of Coxsackie; his paternal grandmother, Alice Mercier of Catskill; four sisters, Renee Mercier of California, Mrs. Michael (Jennifer) Rolison of Coxsackie, Kristina Mercier of Catskill, and Cassandra Mercier of Coxsackie; special siblings, Lois Truesdell of Coxsackie, Christi Truesdell of Miami Beach, Cassie Truesdell of Catskill and Elke Berg of Catskill; two nieces; three nephews; uncles, Mark Herdmen of Virginia Beach, Va., and Arthur Mercier of South Cairo; aunts, Brenda Herdman and Joanne Mercier; cousins, David and Lindsay Herdman; and his godparents, Arthur and Joanne Mercier of South Cairo.

CATSKILL – Dorothy Hines, 83, of Catskill, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at Columbia Memorial Hospital’s emergency room.
Mrs. Hines was born in Brooklyn on Jan. 17, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose DeBella Galan and the wife of the late Joseph F. Hines.
For 50 years she was a Christian Science Journal-listed graduate nurse in private duty care.
Mrs. Hines was a devout Christian Scientist.
Mrs. Hines is survived by her five children: JoAnn Hines of Tillson, Donald J. Hines of New Paltz, James Hines of Catskill and twin daughters June Kimlin of Catskill and Judy Elmgren of West Hartford. There are nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Olsen, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hines was predeceased by her brother Arthur Galan and sister Mildred Koncelik.
A committal service will be held at her entombment in the New Paltz Cemetery’s mausoleum with her husband at the convenience of her family.
Private cremation was conducted at the Albany Rural Crematorium under the direction of the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill.

Founded Hannacroix Kennels
RAVENA -- Louise Bertha Kreitmeier, 71, died peacefully at dawn on Oct. 29, 2005 in her home while surrounded by loved ones.
Born Feb.12, 1934 in Catskill, she was the daughter of Herman and Louise Schuschu of Hannacroix.
Louise was the salutatorian of her graduating class at Coxsackie High School in 1951. Following graduation, she worked for eight years as a comptometer operator and bookkeeper for Shell Oil Company in Albany.
In 1955, she married Thomas Kreitmeier. Together, they developed Hannacroix Kennels, the property and business that was home to their four children and countless domestic and wild animals. Louis was well known for her compassionate kindness, generosity, lighthearted humor and grace.
A committed photographer, she created and took care of a valuable archive of film and photographs documenting her life and family.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas; her son, Mark, both of Hannacroix; three daughters, Ellen, of Putney, Vt., Lisa Covey of Johnstown and Rebecca Anson of Boise, Idaho. She also leaves her grandchildren, Amanda Covey, Lily Anson and Colton Anson; sister-in-law, Helen Winter of West Palm Beach, Fla., and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at Caswell Funeral Home in Ravena from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Ravena.
Interment will follow at Stanton Hill Cemetery in Hannacroix.
Donations in Mrs. Kreitmeier’s memory may be sent to Community Hospice of Columbia and Greene Counties or the Columbia-Greene Humane Society.

FREEHOLD – Karen (Albin) Yacobucci, 53, of Freehold, died suddenly Nov. 2, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Little Falls.
She was born in the Bronx on Feb. 19, 1952, daughter of John Albin Sr. and the late Joan (Bigley) Albin.
Karen graduated from Greenville Central School in 1971 and the Albany School of Nursing at Albany Medical Center in 1973. She had been employed at the Cumberland Farm Store in Greenville, was also a home health care aide and had last worked at the Greenville Country Square Wine and Liquor Store.
She was an avid Yankee fan, enjoyed volunteering at the balloon festival held in Greenville and also enjoyed doing the Jumbles in the daily paper and playing Yahtzee.
Surviving are her daughter Stephanie Frasier and her husband Loren, her grandchildren Kyle, Jonathon, Josiah and Nathanial Also her father John Albin Sr,. her brothers and sisters John Albin Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, Michele Weidman and her husband Victor, Jayme Albin and his wife Ann, Ellen Stevens and her husband Orrin, Michael Albin and his wife Susan, Raymond Albin and his wife Stephanie also 13 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother Joan Albin and a brother Robert Albin.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday 4 to 8 p.m. prior to the service.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4891 Route 81, Greenville. Those who desire may contribute in her memory to the American Diabetes Association.

LEEDS -- Lillian Minerva Woullard, 80, of Route 23B, Leeds, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at home.
She was born May 18,1925 in Petersburg, Va., the daughter of the late Benjamin and Irene (Epps) Neale.
Lillian was an employee of the Brookwood Correctional Facility in Hudson prior to her retirement.
Ms. Woullard is survived by a sister, Katherine H. Barnes of Atlanta, Ga.; two godchildren, Russell Barnes of Catskill and Stacey Banks of New York City; two grandchildren, Winwood Woullard of Saugerties and Idona Woullard of Catskill; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held noon on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. The Rev. Louise Hammond will be officiating.
Interment will follow in Catskill Rural Cemetery in Catskill.

SPRUCETON – Harriet Catherine Speenburgh, 98, died peacefully at Robinson Terrace, Stamford, on Nov. 3, 2005, 33 days shy of her 99th birthday.
Born on Dec. 6, 1906 at home in Spruceton, Hattie was the seventh of 11 children of Edmund and Lillie (Dunham) Simmons.
Hattie lived her entire life in Greene County. For a time she was employed as a seamstress at the Dress Factory in Athens while living in Catskill. “Aunt Hattie” loved to crochet.
Hattie is survived by her sister, Laura Rappleyea of West Kill, as well as four generations of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her two infant children; her brothers, Harry, Clarence, Lloyd, Leonard, Burton and Edmund Simmons; and her sisters, Bessie VanValkenburg, Dorothy Persons and Emma Howard.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 Route 81, Greenville on Sunday, Nov.6, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Lexington, on Monday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the West Kill Community Cemetery.

ATHENS – Edward T. Miller, 53, of 96 Schoharie Turnpike, Athens, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, surrounded by his loving family at St. Peter’s Hospice, Albany.
At the time of his death he was employed by Kosco in Catskill for many years and was a member of the Athens Fire Department.
Ed was devoted to his family and truly enjoyed his adventures with them, whether it was on the Hudson River, in the mountains or on Cape Cod. He was a friend to many and was always available with a helping hand. For those that knew him or in some remote way were touched by him know he is soaring with the eagles he so admired.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Anne (Shovelin) and Philip Miller.
He is survived by his wife Paulette (Palmateer) Miller, twin daughters Abbe Martin and Ali Richardson and their husbands Tim and Dave; his sister Kathleen Krstovich and her husband Mark; brother Brud and his wife Patrice; his wonderful mother-in-law Pauline; as well as many in-laws who are also his friends; and numerous surviving nieces and nephews who adored him for the life lessons he taught them.
Relate and friends are invited to call Monday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Richards funeral Home, 28 N. Vernon St., Athens.
A celebration of his life will take place Tuesday, Nov. 8, 10 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by private cremation at the Albany Rural Crematory, Menands.

ORMOND BEACH, FLA. – Ann Chast, 84, of South Beach Street in Daytona Beach, Fla., died Monday, November 7, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center in Port Orange, Fla.
Ms. Chast was born in Jan. 16, 1921 in Manhattan and moved to Florida in 1988 from New York City.
Ms. Chast retired in 1970 from a Queens Elementary School, where she served as an assistant principal. She graduated from the Bellevue School of Nursing in New York and from Columbia University Teacher’s College in New York.
An Army Veteran of World War II, Ms. Chast was a Second Lieutenant and served as a nurse stationed in France. She was the recipient of the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon.
Survivors include a brother, Joseph Chast of West Coxsackie; four nephews, Michael Moldover of Washington, D.C., Donald Moldover of Washington, D.C., Peter Chast of Athens, and George Chast of Raleigh, N.C.; and one niece, Susan L. Chast, Ph.D., of Philadelphia, PA.
Arrangements are being handled by Haigh-Black Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 167 Vining Court, Ormond Beach, Florida, 32176.

CATSKILL – Anthony J. Fusco Jr., age 76, of 20 Country Estates, South Cairo, died suddenly, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, at home.
He was born April 20, 1929 in Catskill, the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Fusco, Sr.
Anthony was a lifelong communicant at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Catskill. He attended St. Patrick’s Academy and was an outstanding athlete. Tony was an employee for the Village of Catskill prior to his retirement. He was also a life member of the Catskill Elks Lodge; former Little League and Babe Ruth League Coach and St. Patrick’s High School Student Mentor.
Anthony was predeceased by his siblings, Rose Gauze, Kate Yannone, Anne Antonelli, Nicholas Fusco, Luigi Fusco, Elizabeth Esposito and Marguerite Valenti.
Mr. Fusco is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Jeannette Pulice Fusco of South Cairo; a son, Anthony L. Fusco III and his wife Karen, both of Catskill; a grandson, Nicholas Albert Fusco, of Catskill; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born on December 3, 1925 in Alsen, NY she was daughter of the late Paul and Mary Whittaker Hull. She married William H. Wootton in 1943 and they moved to Orlando in 1964.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, William H. Wootton of Orlando, FL; their five children, William Wootton of Catskill, Robert Wootton, Wayne Wootton, Clifford Wootton, and Colleen Gunn, all of Orlando, FL; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul Hull of Catskill and Clifford Hull of Orlando.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Riffley and Pauline Van Valkenburgh; and two brothers, Vernon and Virgil Hull; as well as her grandson, William P. Wootton Jr.
Private cremation was conducted in Florida.
A committal service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2005 in the Town of Catskill Cemetery. Rev. Keith Warner, Pastor of the Wesleyan Church will officiate. He was a mechanic and worked for the Acme Fire Alarm Co. in New York City before retirement.
He loved the mountains of the Catskills.
He was predeceased by his sister Helen Mars.

CATSKILL – William A. Murphy, 92, formerly of West Bridge Street, Catskill, died peacefully in West Palm Beach, Fla., on Nov. 3, 2005, surrounded by his family.
William was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Catskill, a Secular Franciscan with St. Anthony’s Friary for 48 years and a volunteer at Eden Park Nursing Home for many years.
Survivors include three sons, William Murphy of Fort Lauderdale, FL., Jerome Murphy of San Ramon, CA., and Gerard Murphy of West Roxbury, MA.; three sisters, Mary Murphy of Miami, FL., Sheila Poix of Wellington, FL. And Colleen Rinx of Greensboro, NC.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated at a future date.

CATSKILL –Mary Franco, 83, of Catskill, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born Jan. 31, 1922 in New Rochelle, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary A. (Zaccagnini) Franco.
Mary was an employee of the Salesian Catholic Missions in New Rochelle prior to her retirement. For the past two years she was a resident of Kaaterskill Care LTC in Catskill, where she received excellent care.
Mae was a loving and devoted sister and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved spending time with her great-great-nephew, Billy Fitzmaurice. Mae enjoyed reading, cooking, art and old movies.
She is survived by a sister, Carmela (Molly) Franco of Catskill; a brother, Jimmie J. Franco of South Cairo; a sister-in-law, Donna Franco of South Cairo; her nieces and nephews, Marilee Hobbs and husband William of Catskill, Jane F. Ursprung and husband Gregg of Delmar, Leonard Franco and wife Jane of Acra, James Franco and wife Emily of Saratoga Springs, Preston Franco and wife Teri of Ballston Spa, Arlene F. White of Cairo, Angela F. June of Athens, Martin Wickham and wife Kelly of South Cairo and Tammy Wickham of Williamsburg, Pa. In addition, Mae is survived by her great nieces and great nephews, Lisa S. She was born on Feb. 5, 1956 in Huntington, NY.
Janice resided in Ashland since 1980 and was the former owner of Foxglove Floral on Main St., in Windham.
She is survived by two sons, Jessie and his wife Melissa, and Ryan; a daughter, Kelly; her mother Mary Auletta and stepfather Alfred Leones; her father Richard and stepmother Rheeba Auletta; two sisters, Jeanne Cypress-Colia and Judy Dunn; a brother, Richard Auletta, Jr.; loving companion Tom Lynch; loving friend and father of her children Ron Gutierrez; dearest friend Anna Romanowski; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. 7 to 9 p.m. at Decker Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Windham.

CATSKILL – John Frederick Loveland, 68, of 750 Green Lake Road, Catskill, died Thursday evening, Nov. 10, 2005 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born February 3, 1937 in Albany, he was the son of the late Willis Burton Kilbara and Letha Loveland.
After the death of his mother from complications after childbirth, John was adopted by his relatives, William and Ruth Loveland.
John served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was an employee of Blue Circle Cement Company in Ravena prior to his retirement.
John was a Past Commander of American Legion Honeyford Memorial Post 110 in Catskill, Past County Commander of the Greene County American Legion, and American Legion Color Guard, and a member of Local 429 United Cement, Lime and Gypsum Workers Union.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Juanita M. (Coons) Loveland of Catskill; four daughters, Cheryl Piscopo of Olivebridge, Deborah Van Gorder and husband Kenneth of Kingston, Bonnie Matheney and husband Barry of Germany, Lisa Farrugia and husband Tex, of South Ozone Park; his mother, Ruth Loveland of Catskill; a brother, Robert Loveland of Coxsackie; two sisters, Catherine Sterling of Glenmont, and Donna Spawn of Rotterdam; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

GREENVILLE – Thomas D. Buffe, 83, of Freehold, died at the Whittier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Ghent on Nov. 13, 2005.
He was born in Albany on March 31, 1922, son of the late Lorenzo and Maria (Procino) Buffe.
He was a retired DPW maintenance employee having worked for Suffolk County in Bay Shore.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was a former member of the VFW in Suffolk County and a member of the Cairo Golden Age Group.
Surviving are his wife, Alyce (Dalton) Buffe; a son, Thomas J. Buffe; a grandson, Dylan T. Buffe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Louise Buffe, and two brothers, Anthony and John Buffe.
As to his wishes, he will be interned in the Saratoga National Cemetery.
Services are at the convenience of the family.

GREENVILLE – William Gerard, 79, of medusa, died at the St, Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany on Nov. 12, 2005.
He was born in Brooklyn on May 1, 1926 to the lat William and Laura (Eichorn) Gerard.
William was a retired quality insurance inspector for the federal government and retired after 39 years of service.
He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had received the Victory medal, American Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, 1 Star and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
Bill was a past president of the Berkshire Century Village Condo Association, a member of the Tri-Town Memorial and the Greenville American Legion Post No. 291.
He was also an avid billiards player and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Blanche (Albano) Gerard; three sons, Timothy Gerard and his fiancée Ellen Heffern, Dennis Gerard and his wife Sandra and Gary Gerard; his grandchildren, Kimberly Marano and her husband Vincent, Stephen Gerard, Victoria Gerard, Bryan Gerard, Gregory Gerard, Dominic Gerard and Heather Gerard; his great-grandchildren, Marcus and Laura Holloway; a sister Laura Shedlock and her husband Joseph; and a niece and nephew. Carol Baeli and Joseph Shedlock.
Bill was predeceased by a son, William Gerard, and a daughter, Laura Ackerman.
There will be no calling hours and services will be at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery.

SAUGERTIES – Eugene R. Legg, Sr., 87, of Ann Street, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at the Kingston City Hospital, Kingston.
Born April 1, 1918 in Saugerties, he was the son of the late John and Jennie Brown Legg.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and Navy at the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was employed for many years as a construction worker with Local No. 17 in Newburgh.
He was a member of the Saugerties American Legion Post No. 72 and the Saugerties Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5034.
Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, his survivors include two sons, Eugene “Gene” Legg of Saugerties and Kevin Legg of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Barbara Rapp of Raleigh, N.C., and Patricia Saunders of New Jersey; four brothers, Jack, Ernest and Fred Legg of Saugerties and Burt Legg of Virginia Beach, Va.; four sisters, Doris VanWart and Mary Winchell of Saugerties, Helen Benson of Tennessee and Shirley Rose of Virginia Beach, Va.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Vincent Legg.
His funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette St., with the Rev. Duane Buddle, pastor of the Saugerties United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment with military honors by the Saugerties American Legion Post No. 72 will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Saugerties.

CATSKILL --- O’Neil Joseph Ferriolo, 82, of 64 Grove School Road, Catskill, died suddenly Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at home after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 18, 1923 in Manhattan, the son of the late Joseph and Adeline (Venaccio) Ferriolo.
O’Neil served in the U. S. Air Corps during World War II. He attended Bergen Junior College and the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. O’Neil was a teacher at Cairo Elementary School and later was a special education teacher at Catskill High School for many years prior to his retirement in 1985. He also served as a baseball, basketball and volleyball coach. O’Neil was a member of the Young Republicans Club, New Scotland Beagle Club for 50 years and the Catskill Teachers Association.
Mr. Ferriolo was predeceased by his wife Louise Marie Ferriolo on May 5, 2005; a daughter, Antoinette Kingman on June 9, 2005; and a sister, Dolores Cirigliano.
Mr. Ferriolo is survived by two daughters, Linda Annese Beatty of Catskill and Michelle Ferriolo Mann of Catskill; a brother, Richard Ferriolo of Greenville; and four grandchildren, Moriah Eisenhardt, Skylar Mann, Cheyenne Mann and Maya Mann.

He was born in Dearborn, Mich., April 6, 1920, and was the son of the late Daniel and Margaret (Fagan) Freelin.
Graveside services took place on Monday, Nov. 4, 2005 (as written - SH), at The New Athens Rural Cemetery, Athens.
Mr. Freelin served his country in the U.S. Army, during World War II from 1942-1945, in the European Campaign, Normandy and France. He was attached to The A Company 101st Division Infantry, 26th Battalion, known as the Yankee Division.
He is survived by two children, Margaret Freelin and Mary Beth Freelin, both of Long Island. And he is survived by his brother, Frank Freelin of Medford.

GREENVILLE – Daniel Joseph Mahoney, 82, of Greenville, died on Nov. 18, 2005 at the St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany.
Born May 29, 1923 in Rushy Park, Ballylongford, County Kerry, Ireland, he was the son of the late Daniel and Catherine (Bunyan) Mahoney.
Mr. Mahoney was a former Irish Footballer who played for County Kerry during the early 1950’s. He was employed by the NYNEX Telephone Co. For 35 years, retiring in June of 1985. Mr. Mahoney and his wife Marilyn were foster parents for 35 years.
Dan was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He had a terrific sense of humor, keen wit, and a love of family and life that will be remembered by his family and all who knew him.

Nettie was a member of the Citizens Hose Co. No. 5 Ladies Auxiliary, Sullivan-Teator VFW Post 770 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Patrick’s Rosary-Altar Society and Mothers Club.

CATSKILL – Emogene “Emmy” Stickles, 71, a long-time bank teller and senior sales representative at the HSBC Bank in Catskill, died after a long period of many illnesses, on Nov. 19, 2005 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Hudson, Emmy grew up in Germantown, and was a graduate of Germantown High School. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Chappell and Madeline Chappell, who resides at the Eden Park Health Center in Catskill.
Emmy had resided in Catskill for 45 years. After her retirement, Emmy moved to South Cairo and spent winter at her Florida home in Barefoot Bay.
Before the onset of her many illnesses, Emmy was involved in many different activities. She was an avid reader and game player. She loved golf and was a member of the Catskill Golf Club and Barefoot Bay Golf Club. An accomplished bowler, she participated for many years in the local bowling tournament and leagues and regional and state tournaments.
She was an honorary member of the Catskill Fortnightly Club, the Catskill Marathon Bridge Club and Gretchen’s Club. She loved to watch baseball games and was an ardent Mets fan.
At the time of her death, she was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Barefoot Bay, Fla.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, Richard G. Stickles Jr., of South Cairo, Emmy is also survived by three children, Neal A. Stickles and wife Barbara of Mount Airy, Md., Richard K. Stickles and wife Helena of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Debbie Dobos and husband Scott of Catskill; eight grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Chappel of Colonie; a sister Lorraine Mulry of Millbrook; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

SCHENECTADY – Donald R. Carbonneau, 75, of Riverview Drive, Niskayuna, formerly of Granitville, Vt., died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Ellis Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Barre, Vt.
After a distinguished service with the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean War, where he received the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Donald worked as a heavy equipment operator on the Catskill Spur of the New York Thruway. He also worked as a welder, machinist and tool and die maker for DynaBil Industries in Coxsackie. He retired in 1989.
Donald is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Panny Carbonneau; his five children, Michael Carbonneau and his wife Maureen of Pennsylvania, Ronald Carbonneau and his wife Susan of Tilson, Michelle Becker and her husband Carl of Catskill, Donna Wilke of Albany, and Ann Marie Carbonneau of Queens; a brother, Richard Carbonneau of Cleveland; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. Interment will be private.

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Stewart S. Forde, 63, died in Punta Gorda, Fla., on Nov. 11, 2005. Mr. Forde had traveled to Florida to help his mother rebuild her home after Hurricane Charlie.
Mr. Forde had previously resided in Averill Park for many years, but most recently lived in Catskill, where he taught English at Catskill High School from 1982 until his retirement in 2004. Mr. Forde was devoted to his profession and retained a lifelong love of teaching.
Mr. Forde is survived by his mother, Sarah Forde, formerly Sarah Boice, of Punta Gorda; sister, Judith Forde of Newburgh and Janice Forde of Whitehorse, Yukon; a niece, Laurie Alfonso of Cornwall on Hudson; a nephew Corey Williams of West Park; and many extended relatives and good friends in the Ulster-Catskill area. His father, Madison Forde, died in 2002.
A memorial service to commemorate Mr. Forde’s life will be held on Dec. 3, 2005 from 11 a.m. to noon in the Catskill High School Library. All are welcome. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Van Valkenburgh worked at the Hunter Tannersville High School as food service manager for many years.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Alfred, and her sister Mae Wolven.

CATSKILL – Linda Ann Heim, 43, of Castleton, died Tuesday Nov. 22, 2005 at her residence following a long illness.
Mrs. Heim was born in Catskill on Aug. 22, 1962 to Stanley and June Ullman Hasbrook.
She was a graduate of Catskill High School Class of 1980 and earned her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia-Greene Community College.
On Nov. 5, 1988 she married Daniel Heim and they moved to Castleton. She was employed by the state Housing Finance Agency in Albany as an administrative assistant and was an active volunteer at Equinox and the Center for Donation and Transplant as well as a member of Holy Spirit in East Greenbush.
Mrs. Heim is survived by her husband, Daniel Heim of Castleton; her parents, Stanley and June Hasbrook of Catskill; a brother, Walter Hasbrook of Catskill; sister-in-law, Colleen O’Brien Hasbrook of Catskill; two nieces, Melanie and Sarah Hasbrook; and her father-in-law, Joseph Heim of Catskill. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law Jean Heim in 1994.

LEXINGTON – Rita A. Rovitti, 88, of Lexington, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home in Lake Katrine, where she had been a resident since June 2005.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank, who died on Jan. 29, 1996.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Mae and Dan Schuster and Janice and Tom Loftus. She was the loving grandmother of Lauraine Pittari, Denise Del Gaudio, Christopher Loftus, Brian Loftus and Brett Schuster. She was also the loving great-grandmother of Anthony, Nicholas, Danielle and Lauren Pittari, Amanda and Michael Del Gaudio, and Rylan and Myles Loftus.
Mrs. Rovitti moved to Lexington in 1974 and was a communicant of St. Theresa’s R.C. Church in Windham. She was also an active member of WAJPL Golden Age Club.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at Decker Funeral Home, Main Street, Windham from 7-9 p.m.

BROOKSVILLE – Richard Konian, 71, of Mallard Lake Drive, Brooksville, Fla., died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Aug. 8, 1934 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Marie Iracondo.
He was a graduate of CCNY and obtained his Masters Degree at Columbia University, New York City. He was employed for many years as an electrical engineer at IBM.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nancy Celli, two daughters, Desiree Konian of Brooklyn and Richelle Konian of Weehawken, NJ; a brother, Elliot Konian of Summerfield, Fla.; a sister, Agnes Goble of Macungle, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

WESTKILL – ARTHUR Rinaldi, 49, of Westkill, died Thursday, Nov 24, 2005, at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Brooklyn to the late Dr. Dominick and Viola (Miele) Rinaldi.
While residing in Brooklyn, he was active in the Bensonhurst Volunteer Ambulance Corp. and was employed as a respiratory therapist at Victory Memorial Hospital and Our Lady of Mercy.
In 1989 the city, unable to contain his spirit, was traded in for the bucolic majesty of upstate Westkill, where he achieved his dreams of building his own home, raising his children in the country and owning horses.
Most recently he was employed as a respiratory therapist at Kingston Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, where he enjoyed both his profession and his co-workers.
A beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, Artie never backed down when faced with adversity. He battled cancer and never relinquished his love of life. He continued on selflessly and touched everyone’s life with his impulsiveness and energy.
He was predeceased by his sister, Constance Silveri.
He is survived at home by his wife Mary and children, Jared, Travis, and Meaghan. In addition, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Mary Rinaldi of Pleasant Valley, sister Nanette Brown of Brooklyn, brother-in-law Arnold Silveri of Brooklyn, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

HAINES FALLS – James E. Barber, 68, a native of Fleischmans, N.Y., died Nov. 25, 2005, in Haines Falls.
Born March 1, 1937 in Fleischmans, he was the son of Harris and Flora (Graves) Barber.
He was a ski lift operator for Ski Windham, before it became public, and also for High Mount. He was also a logger and independent contractor, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a successful bear hunter.
Survivors include his mother, Flora Graves of Central Square; his wife, Mary T. Barber of Saugerties; two daughters, Alice C. Banks of Round Top and Mary E. Andreasen, whom he lived with; two brothers, Clyde Barber of Syracuse and John Barber of Fleischmans; a sister, Marie Morrison of Margaretville; seven grandchildren: Brian Banks, Christina Banks, James Andreasen, Theresa Andreasen, Christopher Rivenburgh, Tyler Rivenburgh and Maynard Keanneally; a great granddaughter, Sophia Banks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

KINGSTON -- Williams S. Rizzi Sr., “Bill”, 80 of Kingston, and long time Athens resident, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston.
Born Dec. 20, 1924, in Athens, he was the son of the late Peter and Mabel (Kisselburg) Rizzi.
After his family and friends, Bill’s greatest source of pride was his service to his country during WWII. He participated in battles and campaigns in Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy Beach and Rhineland. He was awarded several decorations and citations.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 28 years, Mary Jane (Stedman) Rizzi and nine sons and daughters: William S. Rizzi Jr. (Kathleen), Gregory Manna (Christine), Vincent Manna, Kathleen Yost (Paul), Patricia Rizzi, Robin Minshell (Gregg), Jeanine Wright, Colette Stock (Michael), and Carla Bennet (Frank); two brothers, Philip (Betty) Rizzi and Paul (Agnes) Rizzi; and four sisters: Mary (James) Diporna, Elvira Clark, Carleen (Bob) Lewis and Joanne (Frank) Porto; 19 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who carry on his legacy of love and laughter.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 27 years, Jeanne Clark Rizzi; a son, Stephen; an infant daughter, Gina; a sister, Margaret Patricia Roccio; and a brother, Peter Rizzi.
It was Bill’s wish that he be cremated and that there be no calling hours. Instead, a Celebration of his Life (to be announced) will be held after the holidays for family and friends.

GREENVILLE – Selma Birgit Linden, 94, of Brooklyn, died Nov. 24, 2005 at the Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn.
She was born in northern Sweden on July 11, 1911, daughter of the late Per August and Selma O. (Neilsen) Linden.
Miss Linden arrived in the United States at the age of 8. She attended Columbia College, was a member of Vasa Barnan, a Swedish cultural group, earned prizes and scholarships to return to Sweden as a member and teacher of their singing groups.
She was a member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus, once known as “the Jenny Lind of Brooklyn”.
Miss Linden worked as an executive secretary and administrative assistant in a Wall Street brokerage firm.
She was a member of the Vermont Ski Club and a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Brooklyn.
Besides her parents, Selma was predeceased by two sisters, Charlotte Alice (Linden) Bostrom and Gertrude (Linden) Lunden; a brother, Holgar Linden; and a nephew, Carl Roger Lunden.
Miss Linden is survived by her five nieces, Anita (Lunden) Swann, Marcy (Bostrum) Hynes, Sharon (Linden) Tremain, Patti (Linden) Coopersmith and Priscilla (Linden) D’Agostino; a nephew, Donald A. Bostrom; several grandnieces and grandnephews in the United States; several beloved cousins in Sweden; many good friends in Brooklyn; and her friends and pastor in the Norwegian Christian Home and Health Center where she spent the last two years of her life.
A funeral service will be on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oak Hill.
Friends may call at the Cunningham Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

RHINEBECK – Manuel “Manny” Sanchez, Jr., 72, retired New York State Police Senior Investigator died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, with his wife by his side.
Manny was a lifetime resident of Catskill and Rhinebeck; he was a graduate of Catskill High School, Hudson Valley Community College and Marist College were he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War.
From 1958 to 1983, Manny was a New York State Trooper stationed in Leeds, Claverack, Peekskill, Rhineeck and Millbrook. At the time of his retirement he was a Senior Investigator responsible for homicide investigations at Troop K. Millbrook. He was the lead investigator for The Bedford Homicides as well as many high profile homicides and numerous undercover investigations.
Manny was also Security Supervisor at Indian Point, Buchanan, N.Y. from 1983 to 2001 and was a partner in J & S Construction (San-Jay Corp.) of Catskill and Leeds.
He was a member of the PBA and the New York State Retired Troopers Association.
Born August 12, 1933 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Manuel M. and Sabina “Sylvia” (Fuentes) Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Rose (Myron) Sanchez of Rhinebeck; eight children, Wendy Passero of Catskill, Rick Sanchez of Catskill, Brenda DeForrest of Salem, Va., Rene Hanna of Catskill, Carole McNamara of New Hampshire, Drew Chikotas of Colorado, Matthew Sanchez of Norwalk, Conn., and Andrea Sanchez-Benedict of Tuckahoe; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandsons, two step-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Audrey Sanchez in 2004.

CAIRO – Frank R. “Butch” Stauder, 73, of Route 23B, South Cairo, died suddenly Nov. 27, 2005, sat [at] the Emergency Room of The Samuel S. Stratton V.A. Medical Center, Albany.
He was born in Queens, Sept. 17, 1932, and was the son of the late Rudolph and Mary Stauder.
Private cremation services took place at The Albany Rural Crematorium in Menands, Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.
Interment will take place in the spring in the family plot of The Round Top Cemetery.
Frank served his country in the Korean War, in the U.S. Army as a PFC, was a Korean veteran, and was awarded the Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal and also the United Nations Service Medal.
He was employed in the security division of IBM of Kingston for 35 years, was a member of the Catskill Elks Lodge No. 1341 and was also a member of the Cairo Hose Company.
He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and also loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Priputen of South Cairo; two sons, Frank P. Stauder of Clifton Park and Rudy A. Stauder of Rome, N.Y.; a sister, Beatrice Gomez of Mexico; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Jesse and Rudi.
There will be no calling hours.

BRIDGETON, N.J. – The Rev. Wilbert Brett, 77, of Millville, N.J. died due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Millville, N.J., he had lived in Millville for most of his life.
Brett had served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a corporal. For a very brief time he worked as a machinist at Armstrong Cork in Millville. He then went to school and received his Master of Divinity degree from the Conwell School of Theology at Temple University and Master’s degree from New York University.
“The Rev” was a well-known community leader. He was at the First Reformed Church on Main Street in Catskill before going back to Millville. He was a former member of the Millville Board of Education, the official chaplain of the Millville Thunderbolt Club, and chaplain of the Delaware Corrections Institute.
Brett was an active member of the Central Baptist Church in Millville for more than 55 years and has served as a deacon. He was a fan of all sports, but he enjoyed the local high school sports teams, and could always be found visiting all of the area youth league games and activities. He had participated in hundreds of opening day ceremonies and will be fondly remembered for his enthusiastic offering of “Let us Pray”.
He is survived by his brother and his wife Claude and Diane of Commercial Township; brother Matthew Brett of Bridgeton, N.J.; his sister and her husband Elizabeth and Roland Donoflio and sister Flora Pettit of Millville; several nieces and nephews; and his adopted family, the Sauls. He was predeceased by his wife Joan E. Brett.

Born Sept. 18, 1932 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Pearl (Cropper) Hermance.
Mrs. Drahushuk was a homemaker.
Before retiring she was employed as a waitress at the Columbia Diner in Hudson.
Surviving are six sons and three daughters-in-law, Harry Drahushuk of Kinderhook, Paul and Terry Drahushuk of South Cairo, Mark and Lisa Drahushuk of Kinderhook, David Drahushuk of Greenport; Peter Drahushuk of North Carolina, and Gary and Shirley Drahushuk of Hudson; two daughters, Donna Brady of Hudson and Amy Drahushuk of Greenport; a brother, William Hermance of Hudson; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

CATSKILL – Louis F. Liberti, 81, of 256 Grandview Ave., Catskill, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
He was born April 13, 1924 in Catskill, the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Marconi) Liberti.
Louis served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II.
He owned and operated Lou’s Fireside Restaurant in Catskill in the 1960’s.
He later was an employee of Blue Circle Cement Company in Ravena until he retired.
Louis was a lifelong communicant at St. Patrick’s Church in Catskill. He was a member of the American Legion, St. Patrick’s Holy Name Society and the USS Kidd Association. Louis enjoyed his retirement and was an avid gardener.
Mr. Liberti was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Liberti, and a sister, Jennie Algozzine.
Mr Liberti is survived by his wife of 56 years, Angelina M.
