CATSKILL—Teresa Marie Guilzon, 73, a long-time Catskill
resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie.
She was born October 1, 1932 in Athens, the daughter of the
late Adam and Sophia (Postmayer) Schnur.
Mrs. Guilzon was predeceased by her husband, Daniel A. Guilzon,
Sr. on March 24, 1987; a sister, Eva Hales; and five brothers, Adam Schnur,
Matthew Schnur, Anthony Schnur, Frank Schnur and Joseph Schnur.
Mrs. Guilzon is survived by four sons, Daniel A. Guilzon, Jr.,
and his wife, Lillian, of Catskill, Douglas A. Guilzon and his wife, Barbara, of
Colorado, Dean A. Guilzon and his wife, Paige, of Catskill, David Guilzon and
his wife, Ina, of Athens; a daughter, Debra A. Guilzon-Brunner of Catskill; six
sisters, Sophia Drinkwater of New Baltimore, Madeline Cary of Coxsackie, Gloria
Yannone of Catskill, Anne Annese of Catskill, Margaret Hales of Catskill,
Dorothy McGowan of Napanoch; seven grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Nikole,
Joseph, Emily, Noah, Samuel; and many cousin, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at Traver and McCurry Funeral
Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral
home. The Rev. Bonaventure Bionda, OFM, will be officiating.
Interment will follow at the Catskill Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Teresa’s name may be made

ANDREW TURAN
CATSKILL---Andrew Turan, 90, of Pine Drive, in South Cairo,
died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at the Eden Park Health Care Center in Catskill.
He was born Feb. 17, 1916 in South Bethlehem, Pa., the son of
the late Andrew and Julia (Zapko) Turan, Sr.
Formerly of New York City and Staten Island, he has been a
Greene County resident since 1971.
Mr. Turan owned and operated Andy’s Autobody Shop in Staten
Island and South Cairo prior to his retirement. He was predeceased by his wife,
Mrs. Ida Baker Turan on July 28, 1977, and a sister, Julia Foree.
Mr. Turan is survived by his four children, Andrew Turan and
wife, Bonnie, of Florida, Robert Turan and wife, Susan, of Staten Island, Janice
Bentsen and husband, Allan, of Guilderland, Denise Krawczyck and husband,
Thomas, of Clifton Park; eight grandchildren, Andrew Turan, Sharon Dudash, David
Turan, Cherlynn Scott, Karen Greene, Allan Bentsen, Thomas Krawczyck, Kellie
Bantug; and eight great-grandchildren.

MICHAEL F. SIRIANNI
OKLAHOMA CITY---Michael F. Sirianni, 56, of Oklahoma City,
died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, in the Veteran’s Hospital in Oklahoma City after
a long illness.
Spending 22 years in the Army, he entered in 1969 and retired
in 1991. He did two and a half tours in Vietnam. After retiring, he had
government contracts in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Somalia.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Michelle; a
stepson, Brian; two granddaughters, Cheyenne and Chelbi; his mother, Marion
Sirianni; a sister, Patricia; two brothers, Steven and Daniel; and several
nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Franklin Sirianni.
A memorial Mass will be held 8 a.m. March 8 in Sacred Heart
Church in Palenville.
Interment took place in Belton, Texas.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Oklahoma City
Crematory.

CHERYL ANN CONNORS
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.---Cheryl Ann Connors, 21, granddaughter of
Ruth North, died in South Carolina.
Born Feb. 13, 1985 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of
Virginia Joy North Connors and Michael Thomas Connors. Miss Connors was loved
very much by her family and her mother thanks her for 20 years of making her
smile.
In addition to her mother of Myrtle Beach and her father of
Garden City Beach, are her son, Monte Michael Smith of Myrtle Beach; sisters,
Keri Ann Connors, Virginia Joy Connors, Brooke Royal North Connors, Heather
Charlotte Connors, all of Myrtle Beach; and her grandmother, Ruth North, of New
York.

JUDITH P. SUTTMEIER
CAIRO---Judith P. Suttmeier, 64, of Main Street in Cairo, was
called to her heavenly home on Friday, March 3, 2006.
Born Feb. 22, 1942 in Cobelskill, Schoharie County, she was
the daughter of the late Curtis and Mabel Fayer Cochrane.
Mrs. Suttmeier had resided in Cairo for 43 years and was a
graduate of SUNY Albany.
She was active in the Resurrection Lutheran Church and at one
time taught Sunday School and did other charitable works. She was also active in
Community Hospice, Meals on Wheels and activities at the Eden Park Nursing Home.
Mrs. Suttmeier enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Judith was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her
husband of 43 years, Raymond J. Suttmeier of Cairo; a daughter, Bonnie Suttmeier
of Catskill; two sons, Brian Suttmeier of New Hampshire and Bruce Suttmeier of
Oregon; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Donna Cochrane of Pennsylvania;
and a brother-in-law and wife of Connecticut.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday at the Richards Funeral Home, Cairo.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cairo with the Rev. Victor
Nelson, pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in the family plot at
the Catskill Rural Cemetery.

Summit Ave., Catskill, died Monday, March 6, 2006 at home.
He was born Sept. 17, 1945 in Huntsville,
Texas, the son of the late Natividad and Tommie (Delgarza) Camarillo.
Raymond served in the United States Army. He
was an employee of BAC Sales of Ghent and was a former Little League Coach.
Mr. Camarillo is survived by his wife, Alice
L. (Strobeck) Camarillo of Catskill; ten sons, Kelly Camarillo, Jason Camarillo,
Josh Camarillo, Steven Camarillo, Rocko Camarillo, Jason DePace, Raymond
Camarillo, Jr., Michael Camarillo, Christopher Camarillo, Colt Camarillo; three
brothers, Reuben Camarillo, Tom Camarillo, and Natividad Camarillo, Jr.; and six
grandchildren.

CATSKILL---Vincent Joseph Escudero, 38, of
67 New St., Catskill, died suddenly, Monday, March 6, 2006 at Columbia Memorial
Hospital in Hudson.
He was born Oct. 11, 1967 in Brooklyn, the son of Daniel J.
and Florence A. (Scadin) Escudero of South Cairo.
Vincent is also survived by his fiancée, Jean Marie Benn,
of Catskill; two children, Brittany Marie Escudero and Ashley Rose Escudero,
both of Catskill; three brothers, Daniel J. Escudero, Jr., of Earlton, William
Escudero of South Cairo, James D. Escudero of South Cairo; and a sister, Wendy
S. Escudero-Gregory of South Cairo.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date, at
the convenience of the family.

NELLIE HALL
CATSKILL---Nellie Hall, 83, of 442 Main Street in Catskill,
died Friday, March 4, 2006 at home, after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 3, 1922 in Warrenton, Georgia, the
daughter of the late Willie and Gertrude Brooks.
Nellie was a long-time employee of Waterfalls Laundry in
Catskill. She later worked for the Senior Companion Program in Catskill, until
her retirement.
Nellie was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Catskill. She was a past-member of the Mt. Tabor Gospel Starlites. Nellie adored
her children and grandchildren, and loved to dance and sing.
She was predeceased by three children; Larry Hall, Timothy
Hall and Rosalind Hall.
Mrs. Hall is survived by five sons; Beauford Hall and
Kenneth Hall of Catskill, William Hall of Troy, Michael Hall of Leeds, Jimmy
Hall of New Mexico; three daughters, Andrea Ivery-Bailey and Christine Hall of
Catskill, Deborah Bryant of Georgia; a brother, William Brooks of Troy; a
sister, Gertrude Moses of Troy; 32 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and
many cousins, nieces and nephews.

JAMES C. AUSTIN
CATSKILL---James C. Austin, 60, former Catskill native and
long-time resident, died at his home in Rotterdam.
He was born Nov. 1, 1945, in Catskill, the son of the late
Walter and Isabella (Burns) Austin.
James was a graduate of Catskill High School, class of
1963. He served in the United States Air Force from `965 to 1969, and was a
veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Jim was an employee of NYNEX in Albany for 25
years prior to his retirement.
Mr. Austin is survived by two step-sons, Michael DeRose and
Carl DeRose, both of Amsterdam; a sister, Joan Waldron of South Yarmouth, Mass;
three grandchildren, Ashley DeRose, Kaitlin DeRose, and Alyssa DeRose, all of
Amsterdam; a niece, Laurie Waldron, and a nephew, Jeffrey Waldron.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia A. Austin on May
6, 1991.

MARJORIE DUNHAM CHATTERTON
ATHENS---Marjorie Dunham Chatterton, 91, of Catskill, died
Friday, March 10, 2006, at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hudson. Marjorie had been
living at Home Sweet Home on the Hudson in Catskill.
Born in Greenville, Sept. 13, 1914, Marjorie was the
daughter of the late Mildred (Webber) Chatterton and Harry Dunham Chatterton.
Marjorie was a graduate of Catskill High School, class of
1932. She was a graduate of Mildred Elley Business School in Albany in 1933, and
an R.N. graduate of Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, in 1937. She was a
draftsman at Delhanty Institute in New York City. During the War Years, she
worked at Sperry Gyroscope at Lake Success. She moved back to Catskill, and
remained in the area for the rest of her life. She was R.R.L. at Memorial
Hospital of Greene County; she was secretary for the late Dr. E.P. McDonald of
Albany. She was registered record librarian (Memorial Hospital of Greene County,
1945-1951). She was secretary for Dr. Edward P. McDonald, January 1952 until
retirement in February 1978.
She loved the outdoors and had a special love for horses.
Survivors include a brother, Robert T. Chatterton of
Virginia; three nieces; a nephew, and several great nieces and nephews.
Her sister, Florence C. Point, died later the same day.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
Richards Funeral Home, 28 North Vernon St., Athens.
FLORENCE C. POINT
ATHENS---Florence C. Point, 95, died March 1, 2006, at Eden
Park Health Care Center, Catskill.
Florence was born on Feb. 10, 1911, in Greenville, and was
the daughter of the late Harry D. Chatterton and Mildred (Webber) Chatterton.
She was a graduate of Mildren Elley Business School and an
R.N. graduate of Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn. After returning to Catskill in
1943, she worked at Coxsackie Correctional Facility, the Motor Vehicles Bureau
in Albany, and Parks and Recreation in Staatsburg.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Antell of Massachusetts
and Maine; two grandsons, Joseph Antell of Boulder, Colo., and Joshua Antell of
Virginia; two nieces, a nephew, several great nieces and nephews.
Her sister, Marjorie D. Chatterton, died Friday, the same
day as Florence.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
Richards Funeral Home, 28 North Vernon St., Athens.
Private cremation will take place at the Albany Rural
Crematorium in Menands.
POINT, Florence Mae Chatterton, age 95, passed away March
10, 2006 at Eden Park Health Care Center, Catskill. She was born February 10,
1911 in Greenville, and was the daughter of the late Harry Dunham Chatterton and
Mildred (Webber) Chatterton. Florence was a descendant of the earliest settlers
of the town of Greenville, Catskill and Coxsackie. She graduated June 23, 1930
from Catskill High School and went on to obtain her nursing degree from
Methodist Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY on May 2, 1938.
She married Antoine Point in June of 1943 and returned to Catskill where she
worked at the Catskill Memorial Hospital and the Coxsackie Correctional
Institution. She later worked at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Albany and
finally concluded her NYS employment at the Taconic State Park Commission in
Staatsburg whereupon she retired in 1973. Florence is survived by a brother,
Robert P. Chatterton of Goochland, VA; a daughter, Karen Antell of Kennebunk,
Maine; two grandsons, Joseph Christopher of Boudler, Colo., and Josiah Dunham of
Newburyport, Mass.; a great grandson, Leif William; two nieces, Ellen Mann and
Dorothy Ruqus and a nephew, Robert T. Chatterton, Jr. Her sister, Marjorie D.
Chatterton, passed away the same day as Florence. She enjoyed her family, her
dogs and gardening. She will be missed.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The
Richards Funeral Home, 28 Vernon Street, Athens. Private cremation will take
place at the Albany Rural Crematorium in Menands.
AMOS B. BULL, Jr.
ALBANY---Surrounded by his family, Amos B. Bull, Jr. (Bo)
died Friday, March 10, 2006, after a long illness.
He is survived by his devoted caregiver and loving wife,
Sara; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Crystal; daughter, Melissa; mother,
Trula W. Bull, Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Elden
Elmer, Knoxville, Tenn., Carol and Keith Walden, Vancouver, Wash., Letha and Tom
Hopwood, Birmingham, Ala., and Inger and Fred Ponton, Knoxville, Tenn.; his
precious grandchildren, Kelsey and Jackson, of Coxsackie, and Derek of
Nashville, Tenn.; as well as several aunts and one uncle, and a number of nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Amos B. Bull, Sr.; son, Michael
Bull; and granddaughter, Alex Adora Bull.
Amos was a mountain man, born in Gatlinburg, Tenn., who
love his family, took pride in everything he did and had a strong, loving and
enjoyable spirit. He moved to the Albany area after serving 9 years in the
United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He began working with Penn
Central (Conrail/CXS) in 1969. He was a carman and was widely regarded as on of
the best wreckmasters in the company. He remained there until his retirement in
2002. He was also a Past Master of the Arc Lodge #48 Free & Accepted Masons
and Past-Commander of the American Legion Post 166.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 14, from 5-9 at Brady
& Sons Funeral Home in Coxsackie. Services will take place Wednesday, March
15, at 1 p.m. also at Brady & Sons.

ALBANY---Evelyn F. Tompkins Northrup, 78, died on Saturday,
March 11, 2006 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Evelyn had lived in Cairo before moving to the Good
Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center two years ago.
She was the daughter of the late Francis and Beulah
Tompkins.
Evelyn is survived by her sister, Grace Waldron, of Cairo.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur Northrup and brothers Herbert and
Clifford Tompkins.
A funeral service for Evelyn will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday,
March 14, at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will take place in the
spring in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore.

C. Mateer, 59, died on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in
Hudson.
She was
born in Hudson on March 24, 1946, the daughter of the late George and Agnes
(Proper) Mateer.
Susan
was a lifelong resident of Stottville and was an active member of The Calvary
Assembly of God Church.
Susan
is survived by her uncle, Phil Mateer and his wife, Pauline, of Athens; numerous
cousins; special friends, Terry and David Tunstill, and Doris Morrarty of
Germantown, and Barbar Yerrick of Underhill, Vermont.
A
memorial service and celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Saturday,
March 25, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Stottville.

She was
born Oct. 26, 1918 in Catskill, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary A. (Macarelli)
Strozzo.
Mary
was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Catskill and a
member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was
an employee of Commercial Mutual Insurance Company for over 30 years prior to
her retirement. Mary is survived by several cousins.

Mae Wood, 91, of 701 Cedar Court, Coxsackie, died March 13, 2006 at Columbia
Memorial Hospital, Hudson.
She was
born on Nov. 16, 1914, in Cairo, and was the daughter of the late Alvin Martin
and Mamie L. Thorne Parks.
Ida was
a licensed practical nurse and was employed by Dr. Yarvin. She was a 63-year
member of the Second Reformed Church of Coxsackie, a member of the Senior
Citizens of Coxsackie, Coxsackie Area Senior
Citizens, and she was also active in the Greene County Memorial Hospital Snack
Bar.
She
also was originator of the Morning Glory Bowling Group.
Surviving
are a son, Sherman N. Wood, III, of Athens; a brother, A. Willis Parks of
Florida; two grandchildren, Sherman N. Wood, IV and Samantha M. Wood.
Relatives
and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at the W.C. Brady’s

GREENVILLE---Helen
E. “Muttie” Holmes, resident of South Westerlo for 38 years (formerly of
Ridgewood, Queens) died peacefully at home and ascended into the welcoming arms
of her nana, papa, and Savior on March 14, 2006.
She was
89, daughter of the late Frederick and Elsie (Ward) Lederle.
Muttie
was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Covenant Lutheran Church
in Ridgewood. She was very gracious and independent, sacrificing selflessly to
raise her sons and give them a solid foundation on which to build a life. She
was very proud of them.
She
will be missed by her sons, Ronald and his wife, Connie, of South Westerlo,
Arthur and his wife, Karin, of Forest Hills, Queens; grandchildren, Erik and his
wife, Tammy, of South Westerlo, Doug and his wife, Nicole, of Staten Island, and
Kristine Lodde and her husband, Jochen, of Franklin, Tenn.; and three
great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Christian, and Elise Lodde, all of Franklin,
Tenn.
A
private family funeral service and burial was held on March 15, under the
direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, with interment in the Greenville
Cemetery.

Leopitzi retired as a General Contractor in Catskill and moved to Alexandria,
Va., for six years with his wife, Gladys. They moved to Brevard County 31 years
ago where they celebrated more than 37 years of marriage.
He is
survived by his tow daughters, Jacqueline (husband, Ron) and Nancy; 22
grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his four sons, Kenneth, Raymond, “Freddy” and Roy.

Nania, 73, of Acra, was called home by God on March 16, 2006 after a long
illness.
He was
born Feb. 25, 1933, in Taurianova, Reggio, Calabria, Italy, where he served in
the Italian Army for two years.
He came
to this country in 1961 to be with his family in Brooklyn.
He was
a member of Excavators Union No. 731 until 1989 when he retired and relocated to
Cairo. He took great pride in the fact that he worked for over 11 years on the
building of the World Trade Center project in New York City, and great sadness
when it was destroyed in less than two minutes. Another very proud moment of his
life was when be became a United States Citizen in 1966.
He was
predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Maria (Noto) Nania; his siblings,
Francesco, Jr. and Carmella (Sal) Marino. He was also predeceased by his first
wife, Amelia, in 1978; his in-laws, Angelo and Elizabeth (Esposito) Bonura; and
his sister-in-law, Maria (Pulcini) Nania.
Family
was Sal’s entire life. He is survived by his adorning wife, Alice (Esposito)
who stayed by his side the entire time of his illness. They shared a beautiful
family, their daughter Audrey and son-in-law, Len, and granddaughter, Leah,
whom Sal adored.
Sal had
many siblings. His youngest sister, Paula (Anthony) Petulla was with him every
day and loved nothing more than taking care of her brother. Sal enjoyed hunting,
cooking, canning tomatoes, visiting and sharing meals with all of his brothers
and sisters; Guiseppe (Maria, deceased), Pasquale (Pina), and Nancy (Michael)
D’Onofrio, all of whom loved him very much. He treasured his many nieces,
nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as well, and many other people he added to
his family as if they wer his own, including, Christine and Michael Coyne and
their children.
Sal was
well known for his gardening expertise, and for his generosity with the fruits
of his labor. He could often be found in his, or someone else’s garden,
(including Sacred Heart’s where he was a parishoner), playing lotto, or
walking on Route 23. Sal was an important part of everyone’s life that knew
him, and will be missed immensely.

M. Paternoster, 76, of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully, March 18, 2006, at home
surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Elsie
died with the same grace and dignity with which she lived her life.
Born
April 28, 1929, Elsie was the daughter of the late Martin T. and Martha E.
(Stickles) Diesing.
A
lifelong resident, Elsie attended Nativity Elementary School and Wappingers
Falls Central High School. After graduating, Elsie worked for the IBM
Corporation for approximately 35 years before retiring in April 1990.
Elsie
is survived by her daughter, Kathleen M. Lewis of Catskill; four grandchildren,
Michael Lewis of Catskill, Scott Stella, Lori Stella and Daniel Stella of
Poughkeepsie; two sons-in-law, James Stella of Poughkeepsie and Robert Lewis of
Catskill; one brother, Bruce Diesing of Colorado; two sisters, Janice Lobiando
of Newburgh and Martha Watson of Hyde Park; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Diesing
Luckeroth of Colorado, Virginia Diesing of Poughkeepsie and Sandra Diesing of
Poughkeepsie; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Elsie
was predeceased by her son, Nicholas F. Paternoster and her daughter, Susan M.
Stella. She was also predeceased by a sister, Mary K. Westcott and four
brothers, Carl Diesing, Sr., Phillip Diesing, David M. Diesing and Martin T.
Diesing, Jr.
Elsie’s
hobbies included gardening, cooking and shopping. More than anything else, Elsie
cherished spending time with her family. She will be missed by those she leaves
behind.

Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Meinrod and Louise Schmidt Neilsen.
She had
been a resident of South Cairo for the past 31 years.
Mrs.
Geil was a member of the South Cairo United Methodist Church.
She
enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling and dogs.
Survivors
include a daughter and son-in-law, MaryLou and Thomas Sullivan of Hicksville,
Long Island; a sister, Viola Bayer of Elmont, Long Island; nine grandchildren;
and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Jacob F. Geil in 1983.

Memorial Hospital in Hudson, where he had been a patient since March 9.
Mr.
Graham was born in Margaretville on Oct 16, 1931 to the late Chester Arthur and
Albiteen Edith Chalmers Graham.
He
served in the Coast Guard during the Korean War and was a member of the
Cairo-Durham B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 2630 and Local 17.
He was
a construction foreman until his retirement, working on many projects at Hunter
Mountain and residences in Twilight Park as a partner in Graham Brothers and
Son.

John F. McIlhenny, Jr., 43, of 1045 Sunny Hill Rd., Freehold, died peacefully at

John
was born on Feb. 17, 1963, in Poughkeepsie, and is the son of John F. McIlhenny,
Sr., of Stuyvesant, and the late Ruth M. McIlhenny, who predeceased him in 1998.
John
has been employed as a correctional officer for the last 23 years for the Greene
Correctional Facility in Coxsackie. He served his country in the United States
Army as an Army engineer heavy equipment operator. He was very devoted to his
children and loved all of his family dearly. His hobbies and interests included
boxing, fishing, reading and writing. He was a member of the Emerald Society,
and formed the Spartan Youth Boxing, Inc., which is family owned, located at his
residence. He was a boxer and a trainer.
Survivors
include his wife, Cynthia J. (Lampman) McIlhenny of Freehold; his children,
Eric, Zachary, Matthew, Joshua and Ian McIlhenny. Also survived by his brother,
Mark McIlhenny of Stuyvesant and his sister, Karen Ernst of Philadelphia, Pa.

Francis O. Richardson, 71, a 35-year resident of Greenville died at his home on
March 20, 2006.
He was
born in Rockville Center on May 2, 1934, son of the late Francis A. and
Catherine M. (Osborne) Richardson.
Francis
served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.
He had
a distinguished career, teaching in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia and Iran. He
was fluent in the Farsi dialect of that region.
Retiring
out of the Middle East, he substitute taught in the Greenville, Catskill and
Bethlehem School systems and taught adult education classes in the evenings in
the Greene County Correctional Facilities.
Francis
was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Greenville
Center.
Besides
his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Marcella Barnwell, 33 years ago.
Surviving
are his two sisters, Delores Lach and her husband, Frank, of Spring Hill, FL and
Catherine Millman and her husband, Lester, of Flagstaff, AZ; a brother, Robert
Richardson and his wife, Cynthia, of O(ld Chatham; and several nieces and
nephews.
As to
Francis’ wishes, he was cremated at the Albany Rural Cemetery. There will be

Simmons, 62, a longtime resident of Nelson Hoff Road in Catskill, died at home
Wednesday, March 22, 2006, after a long bout with cancer.
Born
Nov. 30, 1943, in Kingston, he was the son of the late Clarence and Margie
Wolven Simmons.
Al
worked for many years as a construction consultant. He was an avid bow hunter
and fly fisherman. He was a member of Trout Unlimited and Fly Fishermen of
America. He was also a licensed New York State Guide.
Al
touched the lives of many with his trusty fly rod from his winter home in Boca
Raton, Florida, fishing for bass, to the streams of New York chasing the big
trout, “Walter”.
Survivors
include his partner, Diane Beck; daughter, Terry Lynn Gaunt of Kingston; his
son, Jeffrey Alden Simmons of Kingston; son-in-law, Charles Gaunt of Kingston;
twin sister, Joan Marie Simmons of Highland; grandchildren, Torean Charles, Sean

He was

was a paving contractor and proprietor of a used car sales business. He also
owned Harry B. Dudley Construction in Freehold.
He
formerly worked for Simpson Paving.
Harry
was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was
predeceased by his wife, Marion (Otten) Dudley and two brothers, Frank and
Charles Dudley.
Surviving
are his seven children, David Dudley, Michael Dudley and his wife Julia, Laura
McDonald and her husband Martin, Harry Dudley, Jr., Michelle Deyo and her
husband Michael, Matthew Dudley and his wife Rachel, and Amanda Dudley; eight
grandchildren, Michael and Mariah Deyo, Daisy Mae and Preston Dudley, Kaylee,
Courtney, Camille and Sydney McDonald; three brothers, Lester, Robert and
Kenneth Dudley; sister, Grace Ann Hare; several nieces and nephews; and many
dear friends.
Funeral
services will be Monday, March 27, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cunningham Funeral
Home, 4898 Route 81, Greenville.
A Mass
of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in
Greenville.
Friends

Greenville Cemetery.

Leo Whitman, 81, of Niskayuna, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his
family, on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, after a long illness.
He was
born Jan. 3, 1925 in Catskill, son of the late Morris Wisotsky and Dora
Braunstein Whitman.
During
World War II, Mr. Whitman served in the U.S. Merchant Marines.
Mr.
Whitman’s professional life began when he was 18. His love of the steam engine
brought him to the railroads where, despite his slight heft and doctor’s
warnings, he spent 10 years working for the D & H Railroad. But a life on
the rails was not to be.
As the
nation’s steam engines were shifting to diesel, Mr. Whitman shifted his own
gears to office work. Thanks to high scores on an occupational aptitude exam,
and the skilled fingers of a pianist, Mr. Whitman demonstrated he was qualified
to serve as a court stenographer. And this he did for the Fourth Judicial
District of the New York State Supreme Court until his retirement in 1980.
Mr.
Whitman’s professional life did not stop there, however. He envisioned a
travel program for the American citizenry, mulit-modal, that would allow people
to travel the sea, and air, at their pleasure and on special ships. This was no
pipe dream. He engaged the services of esteemed ship builders and lawyers. His
proposals went all the way to the U.S. House of Representatives. In the end, a
combination of circumstances prevented ultimate fruition, but Lion Lines was a
good idea and Mr. Whitman wasn’t the only one who knew it.
“My
brother showed an early propensity for economics and he always loved to travel,
so it made perfect sense that he would be looking for economic ways to help
people see the world, “ explained his sister.
Mr.
Whitman was also a great dog lover. For approximately 12 years, he and his wife
bred and showed champion Newfoundland dogs; traveling the country in an RV with
a family of four huge, black dogs. In 1970,
Mr. Whitman was one of the co-founders of the Northland Newfoundland Club, a
regional branch of the Newfoundland Club of America, that is still in existence.
“My
uncle was a life force that goes way beyond what words can express. He was a man
of great appetites. He loved music, he loved good food, he loved the sea, he
loved animals, he loved people, he was incredibly loyal to his friends and
family,” commented his niece. “Those of us lucky enough to know him and be
loved by him also know what we have lost. I’m not sure he had any idea how
much he meant to people. But, he was huge.”
In
addition to the Newfoundland Club, Mr. Whitman was a member of the Bridgeline
Historical Society, Temple Israel in Catskill and the Gershon Breakfast Club
(you know who you are).
Mr.
Whitman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Robin A. Norris Whitman of
Niskayuna; a daughter, Donna Whitman of Montana; a son, Marc Wortsman of
Merrick; a sister, Adassa Whitman Fishman of New York City; four grandchildren,
Matthew Levinson of Colorado, Kendall Levinson of New York City, Alana Wortsman
of Merrick, Jeremy Wortsman of Australia; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr.
Whitman was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur Whitman and Maurice Whitman.
Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of Traver and McCurry Funeral Home in
Catskill.
Graveside
services will be held 12 noon Monday at Temple Israel Cemetery, North Jefferson
Avenue, Catskill. Rabbi Daniel Fried will be officiating.
In lieu
of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice. A period
of mourning will be observed Monday evening at the Whitman residence.

He was
born on April 12, 1934 in Coxsackie, son of Ralph Le Jeune Albright and Laura
Rosalie (Cary). Beloved husband of Joan (Foy) and father to son John Howard
Albright married to Angela (Ziviello); daughter Tresa Laura, married to Michael
Allen McVicker; son Cary Joseph; sons Christopher James Albright, Samuel
Alexander Albright, Ralph Peter Albright, Daniel Timothy Albright, Theodore
William Albright, Gregory Albright, Traci
Kaylor, David Albright and Jennifer Albright. Survived by sister, Doris Marie,
wife of Glenn M. Barber, Coxsackie and grandchildren; Thomas John Albright,
Laura Elisabeth Albright, Samuel James Albright, Quentin Luke Brambley, Jack
Kaylor, Mick Kaylor, Sierra Albright, Christian Albright. He was preceded in
death by infant sister, Janet Le Jeune Albright, father Ralph Le Jeune Albright,
mother Laura Rosalie (Cary) and infant daughter, Emily Joan.
Howard
began many entrepreneurial ventures including Albright Wood Products, Albright
Health Complex and Albright Galleries. He is loved and will be sadly missed by

Clifford F. Armstrong, 86, of New Baltimore, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at
Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.
Cliff
was born in Athens on Jan. 12, 1920 to the late Joseph and Helena Armstrong.
He was
raised and worked on the family farm in West Coxsackie for most of his life. He
joined the Army Air Corp in 1942 and was a fighter pilot (ACE) in World War II.
Stationed in England, he was a member of the 353rd Fighter Group in
the 352nd Squadron. He was promoted to captain shortly before leaving
active military in 1946. He continued serving his country in the Air National
Guard until 1958 where he attained the rank of major. Cliff was a 60 year member
of the New Baltimore American Legion Post 1614 and a 60 year member of the
Cornell Hook and Ladder.
He is
survived by his daughters, Karla Armstrong of New Baltimore and Elaine (Ernest)
Amabile of Albany; his
grandchildren, Rachel, Nicholas, and Alison; and his sisters, Eleanor Moon of
West Coxsackie and Madelyn Backlund of Florida. He is also survived by his dear
friend, Margaret Furness of Rome, and several nieces and nephews.
Cliff
was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Billie Jones Armstrong and his brother,
Lester.
Funeral
services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 27, at the Babcock Funeral Home,
Ravena.
Burial
will follow in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore.

Arthur Hague, 93, died in his sleep on Friday, March 24, 2006.
Born
Feb. 12, 1913, in Manhattan, he was the son of the late Gibson and Jessie
Campbell Hague.
Mr.
Hague was employed by the Hunter-Tannersville Central School District from
September 1935 until his retirement in June 1973.
He
graduated from Congers High School in 1931 and Colgate University in 1935. He
received his Master’s Degree from the State University of New York at Albany
in 1941. Mr. Hague was a member of Mt. Tabor Lodge, F & AM; Mountain Star
Oasis, OES; Rip Van Winkle Lions Club; Mountain Top Golden-Agers; Mountain Top
Historical Society; and the Kaaterskill United Methodist Church. From 1978 to
1979, he served as the Supervisor of the Town of Hunter.
Survivors
include his daughters, Elizabeth of Haines Falls and Judith of Woodstock, and
one son, Arthur Gibson of Milan. He has three grandsons, Jason, Phillip and
Michael, and two great-granddaughters, Harlie and Lilianah.
He was
predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Dessa Mae Hilton Hague, and brothers,
Gibson, Raymond and Malcolm.

Born in
Albany on Nov. 4, 1960, he was the son of Earl Nicholson and Patricia (Trippodo)
La Chance.
He was
a parts salesman for Goldstein Subaru in Albany. Mr. Nicholson enjoyed fishing
and was an avid bowler at Sunset Lanes in Colonie and Green Island.
He was
married Dec. 29, 2003 in Coxsackie to Karen Kay Linders who survives at home. In
addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Earl Nicholson, Jr., and
Melissa Nicholson, both of Albany; and his step daughter Charlotte Blair of
Earlton. He was the brother of Tina Allen of Selkirk, Valerie Eggleston of
Glenmont, Ann Nicholson of Schenectady, Rikki Michel of Colonie, nephews,
cousins and four step grandchildren and his stepmother, Natalie Nicholson.

Louis Marchiony, 85, of Windham, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Hudson.
Born
Dec. 13, 1920, he was the first of six of Marie Marone and Louis S. Marchiony.
He was
a graduate of Xavier High School in New York City and of Holy Cross College in
Worcester, Mass.
After
serving in the Army in World War II, Mr. Marchiony worked in the ice cream
manufacturing business originated by his father in the early 1900’s. Upon his
father’s death in 1951, he and his brother, Bud, assumed ownership of the
family business until 1990.
When
they retired, Mr. Marchiony and his wife of 44 years, Betty Scroggin, moved to
Hensonville to live full time in what was their vacation home for 40 years. His
wife predeceased him.
He had
been active in the community as a volunteer in the Meals on Wheels program. He
spent four days a week reading to the children in the WAJ Elementary School, who
referred to him as “Grandpa Lou”. He was also an active communicant of St.
Theresa’s Parish in Windham, where he was most recently a lecturer.
Survivors
include a son, Louis E., Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Chris; a
sister, Kay; a brother, Joe; and three grandchildren, Frankie, Anthony and Joey.
Calling
hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Decker Funeral Home,
Main Street, Windham.
Mass of
the Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa’s Church,
Windham, with the Rev. James Shiffer as celebrant.

HILL---Frank Cimino, 62, of Oak Hill, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at his home.
Born
May 25, 1943 in Scranton, Pa., he was the son of the late Carl and Mary Cimino.

Cimino was a self-employed truck driver, hauling automobiles for Allied Systems
for 17 years.
He was
a member of the Teamsters for 32 years.
Survivors
include his fiancé, Jennifer Gough of Oak Hill; his children, Mary Jane Cimino,
Peter Cimino, and Roseanne Cimino; a stepdaughter, Abigail McCormick; his twin
brother, Peter Cimino; four sisters, Maryann Lynch, Rose Mariani, Carol Ferro
and Geraldine Martelli; two grandchildren, Peter L. Cimino and Jacquline Cimino;
several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A

M. Dixon, Sr., 81, a lifetime resident of Coxsackie, died Saturday, March 25,
2006, at his residence in Bethany Village after a long illness.
Born
June 26, 1924 in Greenville, he was the son of the late Enos and Emma Francis
Dickson.
Mr.
Dixon served with the United States Army during World War II.
In his
younger years, he was employed by the Knaust Mushroom Company and the American
Valve Company.
Mr.
Dixon was the first commissioner of the Pop Warner Football League, he umpired
many baseball games and took part in many football games.
Mr.
Dixon was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church of Coxsackie, a member of the
Catskill VFW #770, a member of the Masons and was an avid dancer.
Survivors
include his former wife of 27 years, Frances Dixon, of Catskill; four sons,
Norman, Jr., of Catskill, William of Albany, James of Catskill, and Minister
Frank Dixon of Albany; three daughters, Evelyn Burgess, Barbara Coleman, and
Diane Emerson, all of Hudson; a brother, Arthur E. Dixon of California; a
sister, Shirley Carr of Catskill; 12 grandchildren; and a host of
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

LAUDERDALE, Fla.--- Rosalie Fuhrman, of Tamarac Mainlands, formerly of Ravena
and Coxsackie, died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Florida Medical Center.
Born in
1928 in Union City, N.J., she was the daughter of Evelyn and Albert Blattermann
and was raised in Hudson County, N.J. by her mother and stepfather, Max Mathes.
In
1948, she married John E. Fuhrman, her husband of 55 years.
Mrs.
Fuhrman began her career as a hotel executive housekeeper at the Sheraton
Downtown Albany. For many years, she and her husband were the proprietors of the
Ravena Inn and, later, Martinis Motel, while raising their five children.
In
1977, they moved to Broward County, Fla., where she was the executive
housekeeper in the now-named Windham Grand Bay Coconut Grove Hotel, among
others.
They
were both active in Russell Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons and the Order
of the Eastern Star.
Mrs.
Fuhrman and her husband retired in the early 1990’s.
Survivors
include three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Hillary of Great Neck, Long
Island, Wayne and Abbie of Hannacroix and John M. and Jill of Delmar, Albany
County; two daughters and one son-in-law, Deborah and Donald Daoust of Coxsackie
and Terri Engebretsen of Santa Fe, N.M.; a brother, Alexander Mathes, Sr., of
Las Vegas, NV; three half-brothers and a half-sister, Albert Blattermann,
Francis Blattermann, Mary Bracken and Joseph Blattermann, all of Baltimore,
Md.;12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was
predeceased by her husband in 2003.
A
memorial service will be held 3 p.m. April 22 at the United Church of Christ,

Michael J. Catti, 69, of 73 Birch St., Cairo, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at
home after a long illness.
He was
born Sept. 8, 1936 in the Bronx, the son of Mary (Giamo) Catti of Florida, and
the late Charles Catti.
Michael
served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an employee of Troy Carpet
prior to his retirement.
Mr.
Catti is also survived by two sisters, Antoinette F. LaRosa of Florida and Ann
Marie Sheeler, of Florida, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside
funeral services will be held noon Wednesday, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic
Cemetery, North Jefferson Avenue, Catskill. The Rev. James J. Clark will be

John Boyle, Sr., 81, a longtime resident of West Durham and Durham, more
recently the St. Lawrence area, died March 27, 2006, in Hammond.
He was
born in Burlington, NJ on Aug. 28, 1924, son of the late Wesley R. and Emily
(Steiner) Boyle.
He
served his country in the United States Army during WWII.
He was
an explosives expert, working for many companies in the Hudson Valley and
Northern New York regions for over 30 years. He was also a logger and expert
tree cutter. He was an avid hunter. He will be remembered by his family as a
loving father and grandfather. John’s faithful and beloved dog, Schnowser,
predeceased him; may they once again be together on the other side.
John is
survived by his wife of 57 years, Ortrud (Trudy) Boyle of Durham and originally
from Idar-Oberstein, Germany; his son, John and his wife, Dawn, of Durham; his
daughter, JoAnn Hassan and her husband, Khalid of Illinois; his daughter,
Jackalyn Boyle of Durham; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Loren, Michael, Valerie,
Amanda, Ali, Jina, Penny Ann, Rebecca Lyn; one great-grandson, Lucas, and one on
the way; and his cat, Stormy.
A
funeral service will be on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the
Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 Route 81, Greenville. There are no calling hours.
Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Donald Knauer, 58, died on March 26, 2006, at the Laurel Lake Rehabilitation and
Nursing Home in Lee, Mass.
He was
born Nov. 16, 1947, in Brooklyn, and was the son of the late Arthur Jack and
Lillian (Beucher) Knauer.
Private
cremation took place at the Albany Rural Crematorium in Menands, on
March 28, 2006.
Interment
of his remains will take place on April 14, 2006 at 11 a.m., with full military
honors, at the New Prospect Cemetery, in Pine Bush, with the Rev. Robert Hewitt
of the Pine Bush United Methodist Church officiating.
John
served his country in the United States Army from 1965, where he completed Basic
Training. He was assigned to supply and transportation and served one year in
Vietnam, Cameron Bay. He received an Honorable Discharge on April 29, 1968,
after three years of service to his country.
John
was awarded the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the
Vietnam Service Medal.
He is
survived by two brothers, George W. Knauer of Coxsackie and Arthur Jack Knauer,
Jr., of Florida, NY; and two sisters, Kathleen David of Noonan, GA and Rosemary
Allen of Stroudsburg, PA.
Besides
his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert M. Knauer, Sr.

Irene S. Reichelderfer, 97, of West Coxsackie, formerly of Allentown, Pa., died
on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
She was
born in Wescosville, Pa., on Nov. 30, 1908 and was the daughter of the late
Carrie M. (Wenner) and Victor Snyder and grew up in Trexlertown, Pa.
She and
her late husband, Horace T. Reichelderfer lived in Allentown, Pa. and were both
active members of Trinity U.C. Church. Irene sang in the choir and taught Sunday
school for many years. In 1979, they moved to Coxsackie and were members of the
Second Reformed Church where Irene sang in the choir and also with the Steuben
Glee Club.
Survivors
include a daughter, Ruth Reinhard, of Cazenovia; grandsons, Donald and his wife,
Elaine Reinhard, of West Coxsackie; David Reinhard of Greenville; and
granddaughter, Kathleen and her husband, Michael Henn, of Cazenovia; several
grandchildren; one great grandson, a niece and a nephew.
She was
predeceased by two sisters; Grace, wife of Elmer Muthard, and Naomi, wife of
Russell Bechtel.
Calling
hours will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home,
