FREEHOLD---Rose Goodrich. 65, of Freehold and Preston Hollow, died on May 30, 2004 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. 

She was born in Schenectady on Nov. 5, 1938, daughter of Charles C. and Olivia (Northrup) Pitt.

She was a chambermaid at Mullan’s in East Durham.

Surviving are a son, Charles Goodrich of Freehold, four sisters, Lillie Wickham of Acra, Florence Mobry of Albany, Olivia Lovano of Mechanicville, Julia Willenbucher of Earlton, a brother, Charles Pitt of Victory, S.C. and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband Vernon Goodrich predeceased her in 1967.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Cunningham Funeral Home 4898 Route 81, Greenville.

Funeral services will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

WEST COXSACKIE---William Haswell Griffiths, 76, of Route 81, West Coxsackie, and of Eden Park Health Facility, died May 29, 2004, at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hudson, after a long illness.

He was born Jan 15, 1928, in Climax, and is the son of the late Charles and Alice H. (Zimmer) Griffiths.

He graduated from Coxsackie High School in 1945 and served for two years in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was a member of the Coxsackie United Methodist Church, 60 year member of the climax Grange, and a member of the American Legion Post 0166 of Coxsackie.

He was employed by the A and P Company for 21 years. He was the manager of the Guilderland store when he left for state employment in 1969.

He was employed by the New York State Office of General Services, at Albany. He was superintendent and manager of various state buildings in Albany, the Capital A.E. Smith building and others, retiring in 1989.

He was a part-time patrolman for the Village of Coxsackie for four years and Coxsackie Town Constable for 30 years.

Appointed to the office of assessor in 1966, he was elected of three terms and served as chairman of the board of assessors.

He was a life member of Coxsackie Hose Co. No. 3.

Survivors include his wife, the former Winifred Lampman of West Coxsackie, his children, Alice Stogner of West Coxsackie, Kathryn Griffiths of West Coxsackie, William Griffiths and his wife Sharon of Athens, also survived by his grandchildren Stephanie and Jonathan Stogner, James Griffiths, Charles Griffiths, and Breonna Griffiths, as well as many cousins.

Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with Rev. Wendy Steed, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Coxsackie, officiating.

Interment will follow in the family plot of Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie.

EAST JEWETT---Harley D. “Buck” Warfield, 59, a life-long resident of East Jewett, died Saturday, May 29, at home.

He was the son of the late Henry R. Warfield and Eunice Garvey Warfield.

Mr. Warfield retired from the New York State Department of Transportation where he had worked for many years. Many travelers knew “Buck” as keeping Palenville Mountain road clear of snow in the wintertime.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine, sons, Harley F., Michael and William, two sisters, Ramona Banks and Daltsey Drum, and brother-in-law Wayne Banks and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Saturday, June 5, at the Decker Funeral Home, Main Street, Windham and will include a memorial service in the evening where friends and family will be invited to remember Buck.

CLERMONT---Charlotte “Hap” Golden, 86, died June 2, 1004 at the Columbia Greene Long Term Care of Catskill after a long illness.

Born Nov. 24, 1919 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter if the late Fred and Charlotte (Forst) Ramsauer.

She had been a resident of Clermont since 1946. Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years as a postal clerk with U.S. Post Office in Germantown.

Always an active volunteer, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Brownie Leader, past president of Southern Tier Senior Citizens, a member of the Christ Lutheran Church as well its alter guild and Busy Bees, volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile, Heart Fund and Cancer Society programs, R.S.V.P., the Jennings Willett American Legion Auxiliary of Germantown, the Germantown Clermont branch of the Columbia Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Clermont Homemakers, member of the board of directors of the Clermont community House, Columbia County Advisory Committee, delivered Meals in Wheels and worked at the American Legion Breakfast in Germantown for many years.

Survivors include her children, Robert Golden of Staten Island and Margaret Apa of Athens; sisters Dorothy Simon of Toms River, NJ and Barbara LePage Of Flagler Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles Golden in Dec. 7, 1988; siblings Henrietta Rose, Fred and Henry Ramsauer and grandson Dean Apa.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at the Christ Lutheran Church of Viewmont. The Rev. Mark Frickey, Pastor, will officiate.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Viewmont Rural Cemetery.

Memorial donations are requested to the Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Columbia Memorial Hospital’s Building fund.

PRATTSVILLE---Russell D. Plankenhorn, 80, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY.

Born on Sept. 10, 1923 in Prattsville, he was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy Kurau Plankenhorn.

Mr. Plankenhorn married Doris Dunham on June 9, 1933 at the Prattsville Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife Doris Plankenhorn, he is survived by his stepchildren, Debra Haynes of Margaretville, Harry Post of Castleton, David Post of Prattsville, James Post of Syracuse and Jason Post of Ashland, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Daughters Paula Pollock and Sandra Rion predeceased him.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 4, 1004 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Decker Funeral Home, 134 Main Street in Windham.

Funeral services will be held p.m. Friday, June 3 at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Conducted by the Rev. Larry Majors.

Private cremation will be at the Albany Rural Crematory in Menands, NY.

TANNERSVILLE---Barbara A. Worth, 71, died Tuesday, June 1, 1004 after a long illness.

She was born Sept. 20, 1932 to Elliott and Winifred Pforote Mangam in Mineola, NY.

She graduated from high school on Fitchburg, Mass. And graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelors of arts. She was an art teacher for the Hunter Tannersville Central School District before becoming a full-time housewife. She was also a local cub scout den mother.

She is survived by her husband John Worth, Jr. of Tannersville; sons Michael of Mt. Laural, NJ and Joseph Worth and his wife Laurie of Haines Falls, NY; daughter Lauriann Worth of Tannersville; sister Dusan Mangam of Tannersville and several cousins.

Friends and relatives may call at the Aston-Basagic Funeral Home, 7742 Main Street in Hunter, on Thursday, June 3, 2004, from 7 p.m. to 0 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Friday, June 4 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Haines Falls, with the Rev. Anthony Motta officiating.

Interment will follow in the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery in Elka Park, NY.

NORTON HILL---Albert Baron, 88, died at Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill on June 1, 2004.

He was born in New Bedford, Mass. On Aug.27, 1915.

Albert had worked for the Bond Bakery in Albany as well as his farm and was a well-known nurseryman in the Greenville, Norton Hill and Durham area. He was also a former member of the James Austin Lodge F. & A.M.

Surviving are his son James Baron and wife Arlene of Norton Hill; daughter Irma Rose of Catskill; grandchildren James Baron and Lisa Roe; great-grandchildren Jared and Joshua Roe.

He was predeceased by his wife Ethel, two sisters and by a brother.

As to his wishes, cremation was at the Albany Rural Crematory and services will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.

NORTON HILL---Marguerite Battini, 87 died at the Albany Medical Center on June 2, 2004.

She was born in Long Island City on Sept. 6, 1916, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (O’Connor) Corbett.

Marge was a life-long homemaker and a member of the Greenville Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and a devoted wife to her late husband Joseph Battini who predeceased her in 1991.

Surviving are her daughter Marcella Watts and her husband Raymond of Plano, Texas; son David Battini of Norton Hill; grandsons Daniel and Raymond Watts; brother Kevin Corbett of Bonita Springs, Fla., as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband , she was predeceased by her siblings James and John Corbett, Patricia Nichols and Evelyn Kane.

Relatives and friends may call at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81 in Greenville, on Sunday, June 6, 2004 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Greenville Vol. Fire Aux. will conduct a service at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 7 at 9:30 a.m., at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. from St. John the Baptist Church.

Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.

CATSKILL---Daniel Webster Swain, 64, of 6 Hop-O-Nose Apartments, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson

He was born March 10, 1940 in Catskill, the son of Bertha (Monroe) Swain of Philmont and the late William Swain.

Daniel served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Swain is survived by his daughter Tanya Morris of Albany; sons Eric Swain of Rutland, VT and Jandan “Mark” Swain of Atlanta, GA; brothers Bert Swain of Poughkeepsie, and willie swain of Capicola, Calif.; sisters Linda Snoddy of Browns Mills, NJ, Connie Iverson of Poughkeepsie, Ruth Durham of Hudson and Eloise Burgess of Stratford, Conn.; grandchildren Renada Morris, Christian, Keith, Elizabeth Swain and several cousins , nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Swain on May 25, 1984, as well as siblings Richard Mitchell , Arthur, Geneva and Joyce Swain.

Relatives and friends may call at the Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights in Catskill, on Saturday June f, 2004 from noon to 1 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 1 p.m. after calling hours at the funeral home. Officiating will be Elders from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.

Interment will follow at Catskill Rural Cemetery.

CATSKILL---MR. James Louis Garafalo, 88, of 775 Embought Road, died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.

He was born Aug. 15, 1915 in Coeymans, the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Clouse) Garafalo.

Formerly of Hudson, Mr. Garafalo was an employee of C.R. Dodge in Hudson prior to his retirement. He was also a life member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Garafalo had been a Catskill area resident since 1989.

Mr. Garafalo is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Chelelli Garafalo of Catskill, son James E. Garafalo and daughter-in-law Marjorie Garafalo, all of Catskill; sister Mary Orban, Antoinette Hawk, Lucy Miller, Margaret Van Bramer and Betty Unsen, all of Hudson; brother Paul Seirico of Hudson; grandchildren James T. and Tara M. Garafalo, both of Catskill; great-granddaughter Ariana Garafalo of Catskill and many nieces and nephews.

GREENVILLE---Timothy J. Boertlein, 56, passed away at his home on June 4, 2004, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Flushing, NY on Sept. 15, 1947, he was the son of Ann (Ferry) Boertlein and the late Julius Boertlein.

Before his ill health, Timothy was a special investigator for various state, federal and private agencies.

Surviving are his mother Ann (Ferry) Boertlein; wife Janet (VonBurgsdorff) Boertlein; a step-daughter, Janet Carman and her husband Neil; a step-son Robert Rotzol and his wife Stacy; step grandchildren Justin Carman and Faye Rotzol; a brother, William Boertlein and his wife Patricia; two sisters, Margaret Taubes and Dr. Eve Boertlein; two nephews, Thomas Taubes and his wife Sheri, and Jeremy Taubes; a niece, Julia Taubes and an uncle, Patrick Murphy.

He was predeceased by his father, Julius Boertlein, and a brother, Eugene Boertlein.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 8 9:30 a.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81 in Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Church.

DHIRLEY, NEW York---Marie Hilscher, 90, of Shirley and East Taghkanic, died June 3, 2004.

She was born June 9, 1913 to Joseph and Anna (Brandisky) Salmon in Astoria, NY and lived most of her life in Jackson Heights, NY.

She was married on July 4, 1936 to John T. Hilscher, who predeceased her after a marriage of 63 years. She and her husband enjoyed weekending and summering in East Taghkanic for almost 50 years.

She was very proud of the time she spent working at Woolworths on 14th Street in Manhattan, before starting a family. She was a life-long practitioner of self-improvement through reading. She loved to laugh and loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan Weisner and her husband Richard of Shirley, and their children Liam, Jonathan and Timothy; grandchildren Ted Hilscher of Hannacroix, William Hilscher of East Taghkanic and Catherine Hilscher of Manchester, NH; daughter-in-law Jeanette Hilscher of Claverack; and great-grandchildren Ashley, Laura, Hack and Cole Hilscher.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, John T. Hilscher, Jr.; a daughter, Marie Hilscher and two brothers, Joseph (Buddy) and Richard Salmon.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the family cemetery at the corner of Rte. 27 and Tompkins Road in East Taghkanic.

PALENVILLE---Cecil Erving Prem Das, 90, died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Albany Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Prem Das was born in British Guyana on July 18, 1913 to the late Bartholomew and Gertrude Calendar Prem Das.

He immigrated to this country in 1915 and had been employed as a mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service at their 34th Street garage in Manhattan until his retirement.

Following his wife’s death on May 8, 2003, he moved from Roosevelt, NY to his son’s home in Palenville.

Mr. Prem Das is survived by his son, Ramon Pres Das of Palenville; two daughter-in-laws, Helen Prem Das of Palenville and Gloria Prem das of Queens; five granddaughters, Mrs. Jeffrey (Roxanne) Carter of  Queens, Mrs. Fabio (Donna) Auffant of Palenville, Mrs. Tito (Karen) Auffant of Catskill; Mrs. Jeffrey (Christie-Raye) Van Gorden of Catskill and Mrs. Michael (Kacey) Quirk of Claverack; one grandson, Vincent Prem Das of Florida; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jocelyn Winston of Connecticut; a niece, Sherry Winston of Connecticut; and a nephew, Michael Winston of Washington, D.C.

In addition to his wife, Lois Jayne Hoff Prem Das, he was predeceased by his son, Robert Prem Das, and his grandson, Anthony Prem Das.

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, June 8 at 8 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights, with the Rev. John J. Murphy, Pastor of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Private cremation will be conducted at the Albany Rural Crematorium on Wednesday, June 9.

EAST JEWETT---Lorraine Marie Middleton Beers, 78, of East Jewett, died on June 5, 2004 at the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.

She was born to Harold S. and Charlotte Middleton in New York City.

On Oct. 14, 1945 she married Lewis J. Beers in New York City.

She had a long career as a nurses aide at the Catskill hospital retiring in 1985.

Survivors include her husband Lewis of 58 years at home, a son, William and his wife Nancy of Saratoga Springs, a son Charles of Poughkeepsie, a daughter, Annemarie and her husband Bryan Coons of Millerton, and a daughter Janet and her husband Timothy Osborn of East Jewett; seven grandchildren, Leslie Turnquist of Texas; Michael Beers of Des Moines, Iowa; Sarah, Patrick, and Brendan Coons of Millerton, NY, and Amanda and Charlotte Osborn of East Jewett; two great-grandchildren Emily and Billy Gatlin of Texas; three brothers, Harold Middleton and his wife Barbara of East Jewett; Robert Middleton and his wife Linnea of east Jewett and Donald and his wife Bridgett of Babylon.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 7 at the Astom-Basagic Funeral Home, 7742 Main Street, Hunter.

ATHENS---June F. Cross, 84, of 48 North Franklin Street, Athens, died June 6, 2004 at her residence after a long illness.

She was born in Anniston, Ala., June 21, 1920, and was the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Roberts) Pruitt.

She has been an area resident since 1983, a past member of the Athens Senior Citizens, a member of the Athens Garden Club, and a member of the 10 O’clock Crafters.

Survivors include a son, James O. Cross of North Carolina; five daughters; Jean Craft of Kentucky, Virginia Sulkey , Margaret Proper, Mary Sulkey all of Athens; Gail Malloy of Coxsackie; 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Cross was predeceased by her husband, Otis Cross in 1990.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Richards Funeral Home, 28 N. Vernon St., Athens.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Snowdan officiating.

Interment will be in the New Athens Rural Cemetery.

CONESVILLE---Patricia Wilson, 58, of Conesville, died Friday, June 4, 2004, at the Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill.

She was born in Catskill Oct. 8, 1945.

When she was younger she worked for the Windham Telephone Company and then became a LPN and worked at the Cobleskill Hospital and the Eden Park Nursing Home.

Survivors include two sons, Samuel Brandow of Middleburgh and Darcy Brandow and his wife Laska of Colo.; a grandson, Marcus Brandow; two sisters, Rhonda Diamond and Dolores Culjak; her foster mother, Lorna VanHoesen; and her care givers, George and Laura Edwards.

Calling hours are today 7 to 8 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 Route 81, Greenville.

Graveside service and interment will be Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the Manorkill Cemetery.

WINDHAM---Mildred L. Drum, 79, of Ashland, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Albany Medical Center, in Albany, NY.

She was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Maplecrest, the daughter of the late Willis and Dorcas Cook Chatfield.

Mrs. Drum was a homemaker.

Mrs. Drum was married to Howard Drum, who predeceased her Feb. 12, 1978.

She was also predeceased by her daughters Mary Drum and Katherine Deats, grandson Chris Drum, granddaughter Erin Cox, brother John Chatfield, and sister Katherine (Polly) Chatfield.

She is survived by her sons Howard Drum and his wife Rosemarie, George Drum and his wife Anita; daughters Mrs. Barbara Dodge and her husband Robert, Mrs. Susan Cox and her husband Don, Mrs. Elizabeth Van Steenburg and her husband Barry, and Mrs. Marsh Dunn; son-in-law Hal Deats; sister Louise Cunningham; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Decker Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Windham.

Funeral services will be conducted June 10 by the Rev. Maybelle Renzi at 11 a.m. at the Ashland Community Church, Ashland.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the Ashland Rescue Squad or the Ashland Community Church.

ORLANDO, FLA.---Kevin R. LaVAlley, 49, formerly of Hudson, died June 4, 2004 at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Fla.

Born Aug. 29, 1954 in Hudson, he was the son of Catherine R. LaValley and the late Ronald E. LaValley.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughters Erica Cardinale and Nicole LaValley of Athens; sisters Janice Pendergast of Greenport,

Patricia Shook of Claverack; four grandsons Connor, Tyler and Troy Cardinale and Casey Stanzione of Athens; loving companion and friend Irene Rigsvy and her son Danny of Orlando, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his two brothers Ronald and Donald LaValley.

Private interment at Cedar Park Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

ATHENS---Fred D. Proper, 45, of 84 Second St., Athens, died suddenly Monday, June 7, 2004.

Born in Catskill, June 9, 1958, he was the son of Margaret (Cross) Proper of Athens and the late Fred Proper.

Mr. Proper had been an area resident since 1997 and was a licensed beautician. He loved gardening, woodworking, crafts and animals.

Besides his mother he is survived by a brother, Michael Proper of Catskill; a sister June Craver of Athens; and seven nephews.

Private cremation took place Wednesday at the Albany Rural Crematory in Menands.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richards Funeral Home, 28 N. Vernon St., Athens.

Catskill---Robert Sperle, 75, of 56 Rennie Road died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.

He was born June 18, 1928 in Yonkers, the son of the late George and Agnes (Doyle) Sperle.

Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was an employee at City College of New York prior to his retirement.

Formerly of Peekskill, Robert was a past commodore and member of the Peekskill Yacht Club.

Mr. Sperle is survived by his wife, Mrs. Francien T. (Galante) Sperle of Catskill; two daughters Mary Ellen Sperle of South Salem and Robin Ruggiero and her husband John of Minneola; six grandchildren Dawn Pecora, Gianna and Julia Ruggiero, and Jason, Tanya and Heather Lynch; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sperle was predeceased by his daughter Joyce Sedlack on Sept. 23, 1993.

GREENVILLE---Constance Denton, 76, of Kudlack Road, died June8, 2004 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn following a prolonged illness.

She was born in New York City on June 16, 1927, daughter of the late William and Constance (Windus) Futterer.

Connie had worked for the New York State Office of Equalization and Assessment prior to her retirement in 1989. She was also a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Windham.

Surviving are her son Mark Denton Sr. and his wife Barbara and daughter Lois Kudlack, all of Greenville, and daughter Cheryl Horner and her husband Bruce of Islip; grandchildren Thomas Denton, Mark Denton Jr., Christine Kudlack Dean, Jeanette Hart and David Kudlack; great-grandchildren Crystal and Brittney Denton, Mark William and William Denton, Wayne Alan and Michael Everett Dean and Mariah Hart; sisters Dorothy Stey and Barbara Parker.

Constance was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Ralph Denton, brothers Arnold and William Futterer, and son-in-law Michael Kudlack.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 11, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Westerlo, with the Rev. Donald Lyon officiating.

Friends and family may call at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.

WEST COXSACKIE---Edward J. Kemmer Jr., 71, of Bethany Village, died June 9, 2004 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.

He was born May 12, 1933 in Brooklyn and was the son of the late Edward J. and Mary (Hutter) Kemmer Sr.

Edward served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Prior to his retirement, he was a payroll clerk for Helmsley Spear, Inc. in New York City.

He has been an area resident of West Coxsackie for 10 years. He belongs to the Lions Club of Catskill, Knights of Columbus of Catskill and the American Legion of Catskill.

Mr. Kemmer is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Conlon of Catskill and Patricia M. Bay of Coxsackie, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service in his memory will be held at the W.C. Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street in Coxsackie, at a later date to be announced.

Private cremation will take place at the Albany Rural Crematorium in Menands on June 10, 2004. Burial of his remains will be in the evergreen Cemetery in Brooklyn.

CATSKILL---Theresa Santini, 91, of 62 Austin Acres, Catskill, died peacefully at home Wednesday, June 9, 2004.

Born Theresa Panzica, June 18, 1912, in Sicily, Italy, Mrs. Santini came with her family to the United States at the age of 8 arriving in New York harbor and sailing past the statue of Liberty on the fourth of July.

Mrs. Santini became a highly skilled seamstress and was a member of the United States Garment Workers Union for 50 years. She worked for several notable designers. She was a communicant at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church of Catskill and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Teresa No. 277. She married Raymond Santini on June 30, 1935. They were happily married for 52 years. They lovingly and devotedly raised their two daughters, Carol and Joan on Long Island. Following their retirement, they moved Catskill, where Raymond predeceased Theresa on March 13, 1988.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Petramale and her husband Frank of Catskill and Joan Butler of Huntington Beach, Calig.; grandchildren, Frank Petramale and his wife Jennifer of Poughkeepsie, Paul Petramale and his wife Jennifer of Athens, Theresa Kaness and her husband Matthew of Quincy, Mass., Julie Butler of Long Beach, Calif., and Sarah Butler of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four beloved great-grandchildren, Marisa, Michael, Nicholas and Samuel.

The youngest of five children, she was predeceased by her parents Angelo and Rosalie Panzica; her sisters, Mary Pellerino and Filomena Cordaro; brothers, John Panzica and Vincent Panzica; her son-in-law, Kenneth Butler.

RENSSELAERVILLE---Goldie Anne Kropp, 85. Of Rensselaerville, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany.

Born in Chase Lake, Dec. 29, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth “Badics” Molnar.

A graduate of Berne-Knox Central School, class of 1936, Mrs. Kropp was known for her joyful spirit, contagious sense of humor and kidding remarks.

She was the wife of the late John Kropp, with whom she ran a dairy farm for many years. For the last 32 years she worked for Hickory Hill.

She was an extremely active member of the Hiawatha Grange for 60 years, a charter member of the Rensselaerville Ambulance Squad and a charter member of the Rensselaerville Ladies Battalion of which she served as secretary for many years until her illness earlier this year. She was formerly a defensive driving instructor for the certified points reduction course for New York State.

Survivors include her son Thomas J. Kropp and his wife Donna of Rensselaerville; a grandson, Jeremey Kropp of Albany; a granddaughter, Jaclyn Kropp of Ithaca; sisters, Helen Stradley of College Station, Texas, and Irene Bodi and her husband Michael of East Greenbush; a brother, Joseph Farkas Jr. and his wife Vera of Westerlo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Gardiner.

Frances has been an area resident since 1949. She was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church and loved the mountains. She also loved to cook, garden and take care of her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Ledda, on Oct. 10, 1992.

Survivors include three sons, Angelo of Cornwallville, Salvatore of Queens and Frank of Oakland, CA; two daughters, Carmella Ohman of Medesto, CA and Nicoline Dyer of Cornwallville; a brother, Michael Lascuito of the Bronx; two sisters, Rose Nanni of the Bronx and Caroline Luccarele; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four sisters, Angeline Maurizco, Rose Lazeckes, Anna Asciano and Ethel Asciano; three brothers, James, Stephen and George died previously.

Born June 23, 1936 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Anna V. Heeney Colwell.

Mr. Colwell was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Hudson for 30 years until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church Catskill and was a life member of Rogers Hose Co. NO. 2 Hudson, Knights of Columbus Council 316 Hudson. He was formerly the 3rd Ward Alderman in Hudson.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen E. (Friss) Colwell; one son Patrick of Kinderhook, one daughter Margaret Ann McNamara of Monroe, (Orange Co.); five brothers Thomas and Edward Colwell both of Germantown, William and Timothy Colwell both of Hudson, and Michael Colwell of Claverack, one sister Eileen Zinnanti of red Hook, 3 grandchildren Matthew Colwell and Matthew and John McNamara; and many nieces and nephews.

SURPRISE---The Rev. Harold G. Page, 75, of Surprise, died on June 8, 2004, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany.

He was born in Rockport, Maine, on June 25, 1928, son of the late Raymond B. and Laura E. (Libby) Page.

He was the minister for 31 years at the Medway Congregational Christian Church in Medway until his retirement on Nov. 1, 1998.

He was gifted pastor with a special ability to reach children with the knowledge and love of God.

Rev. Page was Chaplain of the Medway/Grapeville Vol. Fire Company for 30 years and a member of the fire police for 19 years.

Rev. Page was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Survivors are his daughters Melissa Dumont and Lucinda Fava, two grandsons Kenneth and Freddy Fava, two granddaughters, Amanda and Michele Dumont and three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Mya, and Tristen and brother-in-law David McIntosh.

Rev. Page was predeceased in 1991 by his beloved wife Gertrude McIntosh Page.

As to his wishes, Rev. Page was cremated and will be interred in the Medway Christian Cemetery with Gertrude.

Interment service will be 6:30 p.m. at the cemetery.

He was a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and long-time member of the Catskill Golf Club. He was also a member of the Catskill Elks Lodge 1341 BPOE.

Survivors include three daughters, Louann Neville and husband Jim of Cold Spring, Joann Schemmel and husband Steve of Charlotte, N.C., and Diane Hopkins and husband Patrick of Climax; a sister, Marie Porto of Catskill; a brother, Joseph Scarcelli of Miami, Fla., a brother-in-law, Patsy Porto of Catskill; a sister-in-law Betty Scarcelli of Miami, Fla., nine grandchildren, Jennifer Neville, James Neville, Jason Neville, Jessica Neville, JUSTINE Neville, Sarah Schemmel, Alec Schemmel, Caitlin Hopkins, Alyssa Hopkins; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

SOUTH CAIRO---Lillian H. Dreger, 82, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.

Born in Brooklyn, July 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Caroline (Buschbaum) and Frank John Hasse.

Mrs. Dreger had been a long-time resident of Greene County, living in Athens, Round Top and most recently a Brookside Mobile Home Park in South Cairo. She was LPN, retired. Her hobbies included traveling, photography, bingo, the computer and taking care if stray animals. She was active throughout her life in community affairs, especially in the military community as she raised her family and was the spiritual support of her husband. Retired MSgt Walter S. Dreger, while he served his country. She was active as a Red Cross Gray Lady, Nurse’s Aide, and as an EMT with Richard’s ambulance Service. She graduated from Central School for Practical Nurses, Welfare Island, at the age of 46 on Oct. 24, 1967. She was also active in church, sang in the choir, was a member of the society for Creative Anachronism Inc., and worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital before it was closed.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Albert and Frank Haase; sister, Mildren Totillo; and her husband of 63 years, Walter Stanley Dreger, who died Jan. 19, 2003.

Survivors include her daughter, Frances C. Dreger and son-in-law Edward E. Wilson of Cairo; her son, Walter A. Dreger and daughter-in-law, Catherine Dreger of Leeds; Theodore Dreger of Long Island; Emma Brooks and Henry Haase of Catskill; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was born in Queens Dec. 28, 1962, and was the son of the late Clifford Hahn Sr., who predeceased him on Dec. 6, 2003, and he is survived by his mother Patricia M. (O’Toole) Hahn of Coxsackie.

Mr. Hahn established his own painting company at the time of his death. His hobbies included fishing, automotive restoration and painting.

He is survived by his wife Lori (Zion) Hahn and daughter Melissa Hahn of Nassau. He is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Hahn of Catskill and Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) McDowell of Coxsackie, and a niece, Cherelyn Barnard of Kingston.

He was born in Catskill on June 3, 1944 and was the son of the late Daniel and Agnes (Monahan) Donovan.

Mr. Donovan was an avid sports fan and dedicated veteran of Greene County. He had an honorable discharge from the United States Army in January 1971. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Coxsackie and was a past member of the New York State National Guard.

He was a resident of the New Baltimore Township, adjutant of Coxsackie American Legion Post 166, associate member of Northeast Vietnam Veterans Association, board member of Greene County Honor a Veteran program, Greene County American Legion Historian, member of the

Greene County Advisory Transportation Committee, American Legion baseball coach, past chairman and member of the Coxsackie Town Planning Board, past member of Coxsackie Town and Village Youth Commission, past president of Coxsackie Little League, past manager of Coxsackie Babe Ruth Baseball, past coach of Coxsackie Girls Softball, past coach of Coxsackie Soccer program, past president, vice president of the Earlton Fire Department.

He is survived by his son Patrick Donovan and his wife Kathy of Coxsackie; daughter Lisa Donovan and her fiancee Michael Savage of Ravena; brothers Daniel Donovan of West Virginia and Frederick Donovan of Coxsackie; sisters Kathryn Townsend and Alyce Donovan, both of Kingston; grandchildren Dylan Donovan and Daniel Colletti; and several cousins.

Cornwallville---John J. King, 86, died June 11, 2004 in Fort Pierce, Fla.

He was born in Ireland on June 25, 1917 and was the son of the late Thomas and Helen (Coohill) King.

Mr. King has been an area resident since 1971 and is a member or Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham, the East Durham Knights of Columbus and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians.

He was an avid card player and he loved to cane chairs. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Brinks Armored Car Company.

WINDHAM---Edwin Graham Mulbury, M.D., died Monday, June 14, 2004 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.

Born on May 233, 1906 in Windham, he was the son of the late Claude and Daisy Osborn Mulbury.

Dr. Mulbury was a founding member and served on the board of directors of the Windham Country Club. He was a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the American Academy of Medicine (AMA), Mountain Lodge 259 of the Masons, lifetime member of the Windham Fire Company, a school physician, FAA examiner and was county coroner for many years.

Dr. Mulbury was married to Ida F. Steinberger Mulbury who survives him.

He is also survived by David and Hilde Mulbury, Marilyn Gabriel and her husband John, Cynthia Blair and her husband Paul, Harold Hempstead and his wife Janet, Peter and Anne Mulbury and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Decker Funeral Home, 134 Main St., in Windham, on Wednesday, June 16,  2004 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

BALTIMORE, MD.---Dennis L. Heath Sr., 36, died on June 4, 2004.

He was born on Oct 17, 1967 in Catskill to Francis Heath of Catskill and Leonard Belcher of Winterhaven, Fla.

Dennis grew up in Catskill and was a graduate of Catskill High School. He relocated to Baltimore in 1986 and was employed at Johns Hopkins as a Maintenance Department Supervisor for 13 years. He was most recently employed by Sears Co. as a heating and cooling technician.

Dennis attended the Second Baptist Church in Catskill as a child and was now a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Baltimore. His special interests were basketball, golfing, football and dominoes.

Mr. Heath is survived by his wife Mrs. Marilyn (Melton) Heath of Baltimore; children Damar Neal of Catskill , and Lauren Melton and Dennis Heath Jr., both of Baltimore. He also leaves to cherish his memory: his sisters Sheila Heath of Baltimore, and Lynette and Bertha Heath, both of Albany; brothers Duane Heath (Andrea) and James “Greg” Heath (Kim), all of Catskill; five aunts; four uncles; one godson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the Second Baptist Church on Main Street in Catskill. The Rev. Richard D. Turpin, pastor, will be officiating.

HANNCROIX---Francis J. Saracione, 66, of route 51, died June 17, 2004 at his residence after a long illness.

He was born in the Bronx. NY on Jan. 15, 1938 and was the son of Louis C. and Theresa C. (Bastone) Saracione.

Francis served on the U.S.S. Wisconsin Association Battleship BB64 in the United States Navy from 1955 go 1958 in Korea.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Coxsackie and a member of the V.F.W. #1094 of Ravena. Druign his working career, he was employed as an iron worker for the NYC Local #361 from 1963 to 1983. He was also a wood crafter and, in his later years, he owned and operated Frank’s Hot Dogs in Hannacroix from 1994 to 2004.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Grace E. (Walsh) Saracione of Hannacroix; two sons, Michael J. of Earlton and Francis J. of North Carolina; four daughters, Susan A. Blanchfield and Patricia L. Smink, both of Indiana, Grace E. Ramnes of Balston Spa and Gina M. Saracione of Hannacroix; a brother, Louis P. Saracione of West Islip, NY; a sister, Louise Lubrano of Coatsville, Penn.; 11 grandchildren , three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was born July 12, 1915 in Catskill, the daughter of the late Bonaventure and Angelina (Changes) Bramdone.

Mrs. DeBenedictus was a Registered Nurse for many years prior to her retirement from Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill.

She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Catskill.

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother and dedicated caretaker of her entire family.

Survivors include her son, Stephen DeBenedictus of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Anthony Brandone of Catskill and John Brandone of South Cairo; one granddaughter, Allisha Tedesco and husband Ted of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two great-grandsons, Nicholas and Vincent Tedesco of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. DeBenedictus was predeceased by her husband Salavatore DeBenedictus in 1964; and two sisters, Nina Smith and Philomena Brandone.

CATSKILL---Florence P. Hunter, 90, native Catskillian, died Monday, June 21 at Columbia Memorial Hospital’s Hospice Unit following a brief illness.

Florence Caroline Palmer was born March 9, 1914 on Bushnell Avenue, daughter of Arthur and Gertrude Lee Palmer.

She graduated from High School in 1932, New Paltz Normal School in 1935, New York State Teachers’ College and received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Columbia University.

She taught her first year at the Irving School, the spent the next ten years as a Third Grade teacher at Grandview School.

On May 7, 1947, she married Ralph F. Hunter and they bought a home in Jefferson Heights, the neighborhood she has lived in ever since.

Her volunteer work included Sunday School teacher at First Presbyterian Church, Brownie and Intermediate Girl Scout Leader, assisted at Public Health Clinics and solicited for the Red Cross and other such organizations.

She was a member of the Catskill Monday Club, On-Ti-Ora Chapter NSDAR, Atateka Club, Trustee Emeritus of the Greene County Historical Society.

Survivors include her brother, Ralph F. Palmer of Delray, Fla.; three nieces, Jean Terry and Eleanor Page, both of East Greenbush, and Caroline Mickle of Wilton, Conn.; a nephew, William Palmer of Kinderhook; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; and one great-great-nephew.

Mrs. Hunter was predeceased by her parents, brothers William and Frank Palmer, nephew Thomas, and husband, Ralph F. Hunter on Sept. 12, 1989.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 24, in the Remembrance Chapel of the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 149 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, with the Rev. Vicky Eastland, pastor of the First Reformed Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Town of Catskill Cemetery.

HUNTER---James Colby, 78, of Westkill, died June 20, at Rutland Regional Medical Center in West Rutland, Vt.

He was born Feb. 7, 1926 to Augustus and Cecilia Tienken Colby in New York City.

An Army Veteran in World War II, Mr. Colby was a manage of Food Fare in New York City and also was a doorman before retiring.

He was a member of the Town of Lexington Fire Company, Town of Lexington Democratic Club, Westkill Lexington Community Improvement Association, Westkill Community Cemetery Association, and the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post in Prattsville.

Survivors include daughter Carol Salisbury of West Rutland, Vt.; a son, Robert Colby of Ghent; a sister, Helen Burns of the Bronx; and two grandsons, Joshua Salisbury and Joseph Colby.

Mr. Colby was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2000.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Aston and Basagic Funeral Home, 7742 Main St., Hunter.

Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 25 at the funeral home. Officiating will be the Rev. Christopher Berean.

MEDUSA---Pearl Mackey Haskins, 104, of Medusa, died at her home on Tuesday, June 22, 2004.

Born in Preston Hollow March 18, 1900, she was the daughter of the late Austin C. and Bertie (White) Mackey.

Mrs. Haskins was baptized in 1915 when Rev. Hook was the minister at the Christian Church, later called the Christian Congregationalist now the United Church of Christ. She was the church organist when Rev. Simon Lyman was minister for several years. She was a member of the Ladies Fellowship of the Church, past president of the Rebecca Lodge having worked her way through the chairs, a member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Oak Hill for many years, a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clark White American Legion Post #589, the Clematis Club, the Potter Hollow Grange, and the Medusa Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She taught in many districts schools before going to the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk district in 1954 retiring from there in 1965. Mrs. Haskins and her husband Henry sold their farm and stock in 1965 due to Henry’s ill health. They spent the winters in Florida and summers in the north after the sale of their farm until Henry’s death in 1977. In 1981 Pearl purchased the Ralph Disbrow property in Medusa where she lived until her death.

Survivors include her nieces, Elizabeth Jennings of Syracuse; nephew, Lawrence Mackey of Glenmont; nephew, Malcolm Bards’ widow, Virginia Bard of Niskuyana.

A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Warren Beeman at the United Church of Christ in Medusa Sunday June 27, 2004 at 11 p.m. There will be a dinner immediately following the service at the Medusa Volunteer Firehouse to which relatives and friends are invited.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4498 state Route 81, Greenville.

As to her wishes she made an anatomical donation to the Albany Medical College. Those who wish may contribute in Pearls’ memory to the United Church of Christ in Medusa.

He was born in Flushing, NY on Nov 18, 1935 and was the son of Jean Wilcox and the late John M. Meehan.

He was employed at the Oakwood School in Spakenville, NY as a cook. He was a former soldier of the Salvation Army for many years. A lifelong bluegrass musician, he was also a member of the Livingston 7th Day Adventist Church of Livingston.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ruth A. Meehan of Livingston; mother Jean Wilcox and his step-father Dean Wilcox; brother Tom Meehan; sister Judy Kish; 10 children, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was retired from Atlantic Cement Co. after 26 years of service. He was also a past employee of the Anew York State Thruway Authority. He served his country in the United Stated Army from 1947 to 1954.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pauline E. (Sevilla) Shove of West Coxsackie; sons Lloyd Shove, Jr. and Jeffrey Shove, both of West Coxsackie, Brian Shove of Georgia and Nathan Shove of Coxsackie; daughter Zora Shove of Hawaii; brother Frank Shove of Colorado; sister Charlotte Shove of West Coxsackie; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several daughters-in-law, sister and brothers in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was born July 13, 1929 in Middleburgh, N.Y., the daughter of the late Leon and Louise (Cartwright) Groff.   

Mrs. Houle was a resident of Dumond Street, Village of Catskill for many years.

She was employed as a waitress and a home health aide for many years.

Survivors include four sisters and a brother, countless nieces and nephews. Dear to Aunt Gin’s heart were great-nieces Gloria, Lucia and Gabriella.

Mrs. Houle was predeceased by a sister and best friend Gloria Remley.

Private cremation took place Monday, June 28, at the Albany Rural Crematory, Menands.

She was born in the Bronx, NY, on Feb. 20, 1929, the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence (De Micco) Narcisse.

Nancy was an area resident for two years and was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Athens. She loved painting, reading, writing, writing poetry, and gardening.

Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Einstein Medical Center, NYC, as a dietary consultant.

She is survived by her husband Vincent Loglio; two sons, Frank Loglio of the Bronx and Ralph Loglio of Athens; four daughters, Stephanie Pinghera of the Bronx, Kristine Bufano of Conn., Lianne Salisbury of Athens, and Lisa Loglio of the Bronx; three sisters, Marion Bray of Piermont, NY, Frances Di Menna of Blauvelt, NY. And Lorraine Bara of Nanuet, NY; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.                     

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call at the W.C. Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, Mansion St., Coxsackie, on Wednesday, June 30, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, at St. Patrick’s Church, Athens.

Interment will follow in the family plot of the new Athens Rural Cemetery.

PALENVILLE---Eleanor “Mickey” O’Neill, 73, of 124 Hickory Hollow DR., Palenville, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Born July 15, 1930 in Whitestone, NY, she the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine (Donahue) Meehan.

Mrs. O’Neill was a computer programmer for Abatelli Insurance in Bayside prior to her retirement. She has been a Palenville resident since 1985. She was a communicant at Sacred Heart Church in Palenville. She generously donated her time and caring to the children of Sacred Heart Church as a CCD teacher for seven years. She was also a member of the Palenville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Arthur O’Neill of Palenville; five children, Catherine Synan and husband Edward of Palenville; John O’Neill and wife Laura, of Whitestone, NY; Patricia Rodgers and husband Richard of Palenville; Arthur O’Neill and wife Judy of Centereach, NY; Sarah Flynn and husband Mark of Barnegat, NJ; 15 grandchildren ; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Lucas; two brothers, Walter Meehan and James Meehan.

Calling hours are Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill.

Funeral services will be held 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christina Burial at Sacred Heart Church, Palenville. The Rev. Roger Hall OFM, will be officiating.

Interment will follow at the Palenville Cemetery.

CATSKILL---Eunice Grimaldi, 90, formerly of the Pavilion in Catskill, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Columbia-Greene Long Term Care where she had been a patient since Dept. 0, 2002.

Born on Sept. 19, 1913 in Innisvale, Queensland, Australia to the late Edmond and Elixa Corr Jones.

She had a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Communications.

In Australia, she was a politician until she was appointed to Diplomatic Assistant and received a meritorious achievement award from the Queen of Britain.

She immigrated to the United States and was employed at the United Nations in New York City as a facilitator with the American Foreign Students and American Field Services as a liaison for the student foreign studies program.

Survivors include a sister, Else  Dunbar of Australia; five nieces and two nephews; and a brother-in-law,  Llagen J. Kallemeyn of Blue Jay, Calif.

She was predeceased by her husband and a sister, Bery Kallemeyn.

Private services will be conducted at the Monticello Park and Mortuary in Colton, Calif.

Local arrangements were under the direction of the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill.

SMITH’S LANDING---Frieda J. Johnson, 97, of Walnut Street, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the Valley Hospital in Ridewood, N.J.

Born Feb. 15, 1907, in Ulster Park, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Anna Dierolf Kendrick.

An area resident since 1970, she was predeceased by her husband Paul H. Johnson in 1988, as well as her son Walter Johnson in 1995, brother William Kendrick and sister Martha Lifer.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law Ann Johnson and grandsons David P. and Brian W. Johnson, all of Fairlawn, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Seamon-Wilsey funeral Home, Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Streets in Saugerties.
