Enos, P. Dickson Member of Coxsackie Hose 3
Hudson—Enos P. Dickson Jr., 77, formerly of Coxsackie, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at he Fireman’s Home in Hudson.
Born June 3, 1925 in Greenville, he was the son of the late Emma and Enos P. Dickson Sr.
Mr. Dickson was retired from the American Valve Company in Coxsackie.
He was well-known for his work as a school crossing guard for the Coxsackie School District.
Survivors include one sister, Shirley F. Carr of Catskill; four brothers, Norman Dickson and Herbert Dickson both of Coxsackie, Arthur Dickson of California and George Francis of New York City; a sister-in-law, Frances Dickson of Catskill; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Dickson was predeceased by a brother, Robert Dickson, and two sisters, Idella Brandow and Ida Mae Dudley.
Calling hours will be held 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Brady’s Funeral Home, 97 Mansion St., Coxsackie.
Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday in the Firemen’s Home Chapel, 125 Harry Howard Ave., Hudson.

LoriAnn Forgey Enjoyed family and friends
Cairo—LoriAnn Forgey, 51, died Friday, March 28, 2003, after a long illness.
Born in Stamford, Nov. 3, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Bradley Teator and Nancy and James LaBarbera of Roxbury.
Ms. Forgey enjoyed life with her family and friends. She attended Cairo-Durham High School and she also attended Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson for her nursing degree.
Survivors include sons, David J. Forgey and Dillan E. Wade of Jewett; brother, Bradly and Margorie Teator of West Davenport; sisters, Lynne Teator of Queensbury, and Loretta and Robert Kudlack of Oak Hill; companion Joseph E. Wade of Cairo; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Richards Funeral Home, 383 Bross St., Cairo.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Fraher, pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in East Durham, officiating.
Private cremation will take place at the Albany Rural Crematorium in Menands.
In lieu of flowers, Ms. Forgey wished to have memorial donation made in her name to the Leukemia & Lymphona Society, 6 Automation Lane, Albany, N. Y. 12205. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Alva T. Hough World War II veteran
Greenville—Alva T. Hough, 90, of Oak Hill, formerly of Brooklyn, died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at the Samuel Stratton DVA Medical Center in Albany.
She was born Dec. 7,1912 in New Rochelle, daughter of the late Charles and Ann (Carton) Feuerhahn.
She served in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II and had been a clerical worker for Aetna Life Insurance Co. in New York City prior to her retirement.
Survivors include a niece, Helen Schuman of Oak Hill; a nephew, Wayne Feuerhahn of California; two great-nieces, Diane Dean of East Durham and Deborah Canasta of Oak Hill; and six great-great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Robert Feuerhahn.
Graveside services and interment will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Brookside Cemetery, Preston Hollow.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 Route 18, Greenville.

Ann Frascello Secretary
Cairo—Ann Frascello, 69, of Five Mile Woods Road in Catskill, died on March 28, 2003 in Largo, Fla.
She was born in New York City on June 20,1933, and was the daughter of the late Ann Hanley.
Ann was a secretary and was employed at one time for the Greene County Department for the Aging. She had been an area resident for over 34 years. she loved to paint and knit.
Ann is survived by her husband of 52 years, Frank of Catskill; sons, Edward, Frank and John all of Florida, and Dennis of Catskill; daughters Debbie Calvo of Catskill, Margaret Denniston and Ann Pysher, both of Florida; brothers Dennie, Eugene and Edward Hanley, all of New York City; sisters, Margaret, Jo-Jo, Mary, Patricia and Hanna. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Martin.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 4 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Catskill.
Entombment will be at a later date.

Mary Johannesen Born in Norway
Catskill—Mary Johannesen, 85, of Catskill, formerly of Greenville Center, died at Columbia Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 30.
She was born April 12, 1912 in Grimstad, Norway, daughter of the late Isak and Maria (Jonassen) Knudsen.
She had been employed at Pine Lake Manor in Greenville for over 17 years helping in all aspects of the resort.
Surviviors include her husband of 62 years, Karl J. Johannesen; a daughter, Carol Lamb and her husband Frederick of Greenville Center; her grandchildren, Mark Lamb and his wife Barbara, Bruce Lamb his wife Trisha, Susan Myhre and her husband Wayne, Sally Collins and her husband Terrance; her great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Erin Myhre, Jenna Lamb, Devin, Emma and Quinn Collins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Sova, and her brothers, Ivar, Knut, Sverre and Olaf Knudsen.
Funeral services will be 11a.m. Wednesday from the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 Route 81, Greenville.
Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville-Norton Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Barbara J. Low Homemaker
Cairo—Barbara J. Low, 62, of Roosevelt Avenue in Cairo, died April 1, 2003 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
She was born in Copake on Feb. 25, 1941 and was the daughter of Jennie (Massaro) Goodrich of Acra and the late Donald Goodrich.
Barbara was a homemaker for many years. She also has been an area resident since 1966, and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church of Cairo. She also loved camping.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Peter J. Low, and son Peter Donald Low, both of Cairo, and sister, Donna Barbaria.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Cairo, with the Rev. J. Nunan, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the family plot of St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Catskill.

William G. Schwarz Bakery owner
Cairo—William g. Schwarz, 82, of Frank Hitchcock Road in Cairo, died Sunday, March 30, 2003 at the home of his companion on Vernal Butler Road in Purling.
He was born on June 7, 1920 in Marburg, Germany, and was the proud son of the late William and Gretal (Pfaff) Schwarz.
William owned and operated a bakery and konditorei called Gohler’s Bakery in Port Washington. After moving to Cairo in 1970, he was the proud owner of DiStefano Liquor Store until his retirement.
William is survived by his beloved companion and caregiver Maria Surge of Purling; cousin Theo and wife Edeltraut Keuscher; and cousin Berty Stiehl and her husband Horst of Germany.
Besides his parents and wife Lucie Schwarz, he was predeceased by two brothers, Ernst and Bertoldo.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at the Richards Funeral Home, 383 Bross St., Cairo, with the Rev. J. Nunan, pastor of the Sacred Heart Church of Cairo, officiating.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday, April 6 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Interment will take place next to his late wife Lucie Schwarz in the family plot of the Cairo Cemetery.

Jennie A. Hillicoss Nurse’s aide
Coxsackie—Jennie A. Hillicoss, 83, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Columbia Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 12, 1919 in Broome, the daughter of the late Charles G. and Lelah E. (Whitbeck) Palmer and step-daughter of Charles Rivenburg. She had been a resident of Coxsackie since 1953.
Mrs. Hillicoss was a nurse’s aide at the former Hopewell Manor Rest Home in Coxsackie and also at Sunny Crest Nursing Home in Watervliet.
She married Dean S. Hillicoss on Oct. 18, 1940 in South Westerlo. He predeceased her in 1975.
She is survived by her loving children Deanna J. and her husband Frank H. VanSchaack, James G. and his wife Sheila Hillicoss, both of Coxsackie, Diana L. and her husband Richard P. McGowan of Catskill, Donald A. and John A. and his wife Pamela Hillicoss, both of Latham; sister Jeanette Morehouse and Ladora Warner; and brothers Gilbert Palmer, Darrel Rivenburgh and Eldon Rivenburgh. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hillicoss was predeceased by a brother Delbert and two sisters Bernice and Idabell.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Wendy Steed on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Sopris Funeral Home, Inc., 11877 Route 9W in Coxsackie. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie, next to her brother Dean. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home on Friday, April 4, 2003, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Maria Koschitzki Bailiwick Ranch owner
Catskill—After a brief illness, Maria passed away on March 31, 2003.
She was born July 6,1923 in Germany. Maria, her husband Alfred and their three children Fred, Astrid and Karin left Germany in 1952 to come to America to start a new life. After years of hard work, Maria and her family moved to Catskill and started the Bailiwick Ranch.
Her fourth child Garry was born at this time. After 41 years, Maria and her son Garry have kept the business in operation.
Maria will be remembered and loved forever for her hard work and devotion to her horses.
She was predeceased by her daughter Karin in 1962, and her husband Alfred in 1986.
Maria is survived by her brother Paul Kern from New York, her sister Hilda Holtzer from Florida and her children Fred Koschitzki and wife Laurel of Woodstock, N. Y., her daughter Astrid Kane of Catskill, and her beloved son Garry Koschitzki and his wife Robin, and their children Tyler, Tiffani, Trevor and Troy, and devoted friends Thomas Sheridan, Harold (Chucky) Jones and Arnie Dalland plus numerous friends and relatives.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 6 at 1 p.m. at the Bailiwick Ranch, located off Route 32 in Catskill, N.Y. Everyone is invited to attend.

Lida D. Lubera Special education teacher’s aide
Athens—Linda D. Lubera, 43, of Route 385, Catskill, died suddenly Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born in East Meadow, L. I., Dec. 7, 1959, she was the daughter of Frederick and Genevieve (Gardner) Weisinger of Athens.
Mrs. Lubera had been an area resident since the age of 13. She is a member of the Catskill Elks, the West Athens Ladies Fire Auxiliary and a Communicant of the St. Patrick’s Church of Catskill. She also loved crafts. At the time of her death she was a teacher’s aide in special education in the Catskill School District.
Survivors include her parents; her husband of 18 years, Paul R. Lubera of Catskill; two sons, Paul Jr., and Randy, both of Catskill; brother, Frederick Weisinger Jr.; sisters Carol Weisinger and Jeanette Buhrke, both of Catskill; and Frances Law of Virginia; and many cousins and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Richards Funeral Home, 28 North Vernon St., Athens.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, 1:15 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church of Catskill with the Rev. John Murphy, pastor as celebrant.

Evelyn Manz Eva’s Farm Resort owner
Catskill—Evelyn Manz, 84, died on Monday, March 31,2003 after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center of New York City.
Born in Green Bay, Wisc., on April 17, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Eva St. Eve.
Evelyn was a woman of great faith who had compassion and love for others. She will always be remembered for her loving smile and her great cooking.
She was the co-owner and chef of Eva’s Farm Resort in Purling and was a member of the Athens Senior Citizens and the Greene County Women’s League.
Her husband John Manz predeceased her in 1973.
She was a loving sister to Violet O’Bach of Lauderdale Lake, Fla; beloved mother of Allan Manz and his wife Barbara of Bethpage, John Manz and his wife Barbara of Middletown, Conn., Maryeva Bryant and her husband Joseph of New Hyde Park, and Joanie Nietzschmann and her husband Eddy of Pine Bush; devoted nana to Evamzarie, Christina, Debra, Carolyn, Wendy, Douglas, Susan, Kelly, Thomas and Jason; and the adored great-nana of Jack, Olivia, Eve, Katie, Nicholas, Mary Elizabeth and Aidan.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Catskill Wesleyan Church, 3 Bogardus Ave, in Catskill.

Cairo—Frank J. Osip Jr., 64, of Orchard Drive in South Cairo, died suddenly Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at his residence.
Born on March 3,1939, Frank was an avid gardener and he did gardening for many local residents.
He had been an area resident for several years.

Josephine M. Rooney Bookkeeper
Windham—Josephine M. Rooney, 92, of Maplecrest, died Thursday, April 3,2003, at the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston.
She was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Rooney, born Sept. 27, 1911, in Brooklyn.
She was an accountant employed by Braun Fuel Co., Brooklyn.
Miss Rooney moved to Maplecrest 43 years ago from Brooklyn. She is survived by her dear friends Antoinette MacGlashan, Lillian MacGlashan, Jean MacGlashan Kass, Malcolm MacGlashan, Louis and Martha Lindine, and Rich Shoemaker. She is also survived by many other friends in her community.
Miss Rooney was the bookkeeper at St. Theresa’s R. C. Church, Windham, for 31 years. She also was active in the ladies guild and the Bible study group at the church. She enjoyed reading as well as painting.
Calling hours will be at the Decker Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Windham, on Sunday, April 6 from 2 to 4 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 7, at St. Theresa’s R. C. Church, Windham, at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland.

Ernest C. Bodie, Jr. Renovations business owner
Palenville—Ernest C. Bodie Jr., 56, of Route 32A in Palenville, died at the Kingston Hospital on Friday, April 4, 2003.
Born in Kingston on Oct. 19, 1946, he was the son of the late Ernest and Beatrice Williams Bodie.
As well as being co-owner with his wife of Catskill Mountain Renovations, he was a maintenance supervisor at Anderson School, Ulster ARC, and Global Van Lines.
Mr. Bodie was an avid bowler and member of the Kingston Bowling Association, and a former participant in the Kingston Softball League and home run derbies. He also was involved for many years in stock car racing and demolition derbies, and was a member of Hose Co., No. 5 in Catskill. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus for area children.
Surviving are his wife Dariel Myer-Cotich Bodie of Palenville; daughter Tammy Schringer of Kingston; sons Brian Bodie of Kingston, John Bodie and Michael Phillips, both of Saugerties; stepdaughters Stefanie Cotich of Palenville, and Tara Lackie of Catskill; brothers Joseph Bodie of Kingston and John Bodie of Mass.; dear friends Mark Dutcher of Port Ewen and Harry Banks, Sr. of Shokan. He is also survived by two grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Bodie was predeceased by sister s Rose, Carolyn and Martha Bodie.
Funeral services will be at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue in Kingston on Sunday, April 6 at 7 p.m. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Cremation will take place in Wiltwyck Crematory in Kingston.

Richard H. Moore Former Chief of D. M. Hamilton Steamer Co.
Coxsackie—Richard H. Moore, 51, of 41 Freleigh Place, Coxsackie, died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at his residence after a long illness.
He was born July 1,1951 in Coxsackie, and was the son of Frances L. (Moore) Hotaling of Leeds and the late James E. Moore Jr.
From 1970 to 1976, Mr. Moore served with the U. S. Navy.
He was a manager for the Laidlaw Transportation Co. of Coxsackie, a member of the Second Reformed Church, and a member of the D. M. Hamilton Steamer Company in Coxsackie where he served as chief at one time.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 16 years, Suzanne (Peetsh) Moore of Coxsackie; step-daughter Lisa R. Moore of Coxsackie; three grandchildren, Kolby, Makyla and Reba; three brothers, William of Leeds, David of Elizaville, and James Moore of Coxsackie; one sister, Mary Blake Spence of Freehold; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the W. C. Brady’s Sons Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion St., Coxsackie.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Richard Pruiksma, Pastor of the Second Reformed Church of Coxsackie, officiating.

Helen Bentley Employed at University of Detroit
Catskill—Helen Bentley, 90, of the Pavilion in Catskill, and formerly of Royal Oak, Mich., died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
She was born Feb. 7,1913 in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of the late John and Jean (Mueller) Gulde.
Bentley was an employee at the University of Detroit prior to her retirement. She was a communicant of the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, Mich.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Edward Popko of Woodstock; and five grandsons, Daniel Bentley of Boyne City, Mich., Gregory Bentley of La., Jeffrey Bentley of Paradise, Mich., Edward Popko of Boston, Mass., and Gerald B. Popko of Woodstock.
Mrs. Bentley was predeceased by her husband, Robert G. Bentley in 1975; a son, Richard G. Bentley in 1990; and a brother, Walter Gulde.
Private cremation was preformed at Park View Cemetery in Schenectady.
Spring interment will be at Holy Seplechre Cemetery in Southfield, Mich.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, Catskill.

Francis Solanus DeLorenzo, O.F.M. Priest in the Order of Friars Minor
Albany—Father Francis Solanus DeLorenzo, 84, died Monday, April 7, 2003 at St. Anthony Friary in Catskill.
Professed 62 years and ordained 56 years as a priest in the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans) of the Immaculate Conception Province, New York.
During his many years of faithful service in the Province, Father Francis performed various ministries. He was parochial assistant to the following parishes: St. Anthony, Troy; St. Agnes, Toronto, Canada; St. Leonard, Boston; St. Francis, Cambridge; Our Lady of Mount Cannel in East Boston, Mass. He also served in the Province’s missions in Central America.
Father Francis was a Provincial Councilor and exercised the ministry of Guardian at the following friaries: St. Joseph in Onset, St. Bonaventure in Melros, St. Christopher in Boston, and St. Anthony, Catskill.
Father Francis spent many years as an instructor at the Christopher Columbus High School in Boston and was also part of the formation team for both Novitiate and Post-Novitiate.
His body will be waked at St. Anthony’s Friary in Catskill from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
A wake service will be celebrated 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10 at St. Anthony’s Friary, Catskill.
Interment will follow in Mt. Alvernia, Wappingers Falls.
Arrangements are under the direction of Zwack & Sons, 633 Central Ave, Albany.

Douglas C. Kerr Former Hunter Chief of Police
Hunter—Douglas C. Kerr, 49, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, after suffering a heart attack at his home on the Stony Lake Road.
Born June 15,1953 in Catskill, he was the son of Claude E. and Adele Borocchia Kerr.
Mr. Kerr graduated from Hunter-Tannersville Central School in the Town of Hunter in 1971. He attended both Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fla., and the Pennsylvania Academy of art. He served as the chief of police in the Town of Hunter for several years and as a patrolman for the Catskill Police Department.
In 1984 Mr. Kerr graduated from the New York State Police Academy in Albany as a New York State Conservation Officer and worked out of the Watertown office since 1988. On March 9,1990 Mr. Kerr married Laury G. Eignor in the United Methodist Church of Roxbury, with the Rev. Madeline McDonald, pastor, officiating. Mr. Kerr had served on the Board of Education for the South Lewis School District since July 1, 2001.
As an avid outdoorsman Mr. Kerr was an active member in the following associations: The National Wild Turkey federation., Pheasants Forever, Ruffed Grouse Society, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation of Colorado, the NRA, the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Wilderness Society, the Sierra Club, the North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association, the Nature Conservancy, the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, and the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Alliance.
Mr. Kerr especially enjoyed bowhunting and was a founding member of both the NYS Bowhunter’s Association and the NYS Conservation Officer’s Association, Bowhunters’ of America, the PGS-Profession Bowhunters’ Society, New Jersey United Bowhunters, the America Bowhunters Committee, and the United Bowhunters of Rhode Island.
He was also a member of the Coral Reef Alliance, American Rivers, the American Canoe Association. Mr. Kerr also taught fly tying at Lowville Academy for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Laury; his mother, Adele Kerr of Hunter; a sister and brother-in-law, Christina and Dennis Galin of Haines Falls; and several aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Claude E. Kerr.
Calling hours are Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at he Virkler-Percoski Funeral Home in Lowville. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating.
A service will also be conducted Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Aston-Basagic Funeral Home, Main Street Hunter.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Catskill—Wilbur D. Smith Jr., 48, of Catskill, died Monday, April 7, 2003 at Kingston City Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday.
He was born April 29, 1954 in Catskill to the late Wilbur and Patricia Lane Smith.
Mr. Smith graduated from Catskill High School Class of 1972, and was the former owner of Talk of Town Restaurant in Athens before his current endeavor Smitty’s Hot Dog Heaven on West Bridge Street.
He was a member of Hose Co. No. 1 and BPOE Lodge No. 1341.
Survivors include his beloved wife Elaine Gardner of Catskill; a son, Wilbur D. Smith III of Catskill; stepson, Daniel McLaren of Clifton Park; sister, Julia Smith of Catskill; brother, Glen Smith of Catskill; and sister, Shelly Blenner of Catskill.
He was predeceased by his father, Wilbur D. Smith Sr., on Jan. 25, 1992, and his mother, Patricia A. Lane Smith on June 2, 2000.
A memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in the Remembrance Chapel of the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. The Rev. Richard Snowden of First Baptist Church will be officiating.
Private cremation was conducted at the Albany Rural Crematorium in Colonie on Tuesday.

Hunter—Camilla Rose Young, 94, of Elka Park, died on April 7, 2003 at the Ten Brook Commons where she had been a resident for 10 years.
She was born April 13, 1908 to James F. and Camilla Bellman Rose in Elka Park.
She was a Telephone Pioneer and had worked for New York Telephone for 38 years with perfect attendance, and a member of the Mountain Top Golden Agers. She organized trips for years and she loved crafts.
She is survived by daughter Elsie Dibbell; husband Renwick of Phoenicia; grandchildren Paul Dibble, Stephen Dibble, Jane Booth and Lisa Dibble; great-grandchildren Christopher M. and Scott Booth and Talia and Brandon Dibbell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Aston-Basagic Funeral Home, Main Street, Hunter. The Rev. Gregory Ferriss will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Tannersville Evergreen Cemetery.

Catskill—Jane “Jennie” Pilatich, 77, of Ravena, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson where she had been a patient.
She was born April 5, 1926 in Alsen, N. Y., the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Hajec) Pilatich, Sr.
She was raised in Catskill and was a graduate of Catskill High School and Albany Business College, She attended evening classes at Russel Sage College and was Senior Account Clerk at the New York State Department of Tax and Finance in Albany until her retirement in 1991. She was also a communicant of St. Patrick’s R. C. Church in Catskill.
She is survived by brothers John Pilatich of Ravena, with whom she resided, Louis Pilatich and Joseph M. Pilatich, Jr., both of Catskill, and Stephen Pilatich of Hannacroix; sisters Mildred Dagner of Tennessee, Helen Askew and Carol Weidemann, both of Selkirk, Katherine Dimler of Colonie, and Josephine Balfe of Guilderland. She is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews and 36 great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Anthony Pilatich on Dec. 15, 1952.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Bridge Street, in Catskill, with the Rev. John J. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Catskill

She was a homemaker who was predeceased by her husband Winthrop James Sr., on Nov. 12, 1973.
She is survived by her son, Winthrop James, who resides on Prattsville.

Windham—Carrie B. Dunham, a life long resident of Windham, died on Friday, April 11, 2003 at Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill.
Miss Dunham was born in Windham on July 5, 1907, the daughter of Frank and Lucy (White) Dunham.
She was the homemaker for her sister Mary Dunham, who was a teacher at the Windham School for 50 years. She was also a longtime member of the Windham Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her first cousin Marie Dunham White and her second cousins Sally Nelson and Donald Vining.
She was predeceased by her sister Mary Dunham on January 26, 1988.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Decker Funeral Home in Windham on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dianna Smith officiating.

Oak Hill—Rosa B. Horvat, 98, of Oak Hill, NY, passed away at Columbia-Greene Long Term Care in Catskill on April 11, 2003.
She was born in Hungary on Oct. 1, 1904, the daughter of the late Alexander and Julia (Keloly) Boda.
Rosa was a retired seventh and eighth grade math teacher, having taught in Ozone Park, NY. She was also a member of the Maranatha Valley Chapter O. E. S.
Surviving, are her niece, Patricia Froemel of Suffolk, VA and dear friend Carol Cooke of Oak Hill.
Rosa was predeceased by sister Helen Froemel, nephews Robert and Arthur Froemel, and her longtime friend and companion Fradelia Vaughn.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 15, at 8:30 a. m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home 4898 Route 81 in Greenville, with a mass of Christian burial at 9 a.m. from St. John the Baptist Church of Greenville.
Interment will follow in Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, NY.

Coxsackie—Anna Jarmoska, 91, of Coxsackie, died April 12, 2003 at Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill where she had been a resident since Feb. 2, 2000.
She was born in Greenport in Columbia County on Oct. 11, 1911, the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Melnyck) Yaroschuck.
Anna was a lifetime resident, a communicant of St. Mary’s R. C. Church, a member of the 10 O’CLOCK Crafters, and a member of the Catholic Daughter. She loved quilting. In her years of employment, she worked at the Sam Agins Furrier Company of Hudson.
She is survived by daughter Mrs. Thomas (Elizabeth) Olivett of Coxsackie; brother John Yaroschuck of Hudson; grandchildren Christine Palmatier, Thomas V. and Paul G. Olivett; four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Anna is predeceased by two husbands, Hubert Harlow and Vincent Jarmoska; brothers, Michael, Metro and Peter Yaroschuck; sisters Julia Lubianetsky and Rose Yaros Chuck.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at the Valenti and Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Dr. in Greenport, with Rev. Fr. Winston Bath, pastor of St. Mary’s R. C. Church of Hudson, officiating.

Greenville—Joseph W. Grissler, 78, of East Durham, formerly of Ozone Park, died at Columbia-Greene Long Term Care in Catskill.
He was born Nov. 26,1924 in Brooklyn, son of the late Joseph and Henrietta (Murray) Grissler Sr.
Mr. Grissler was a retired lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the East Durham Volunteer Fire Company and a former member of the Knights of Columbus in New York City.
Mr. Grissler and his family have been coming to East Durham since 1965.
Survivors are a daughter, Anna Grissler of Long Beach, N.Y.; a sister, Mary Grissler of East Durham; two nieces, Margaret Carmody and her husband James, Eileen McGoldrick and her husband Michael; also a great niece and nephew, John and Eileen Carmody.
Mr. Grissler was predeceased by his wife, Eileen (Davis) Grissler on July 10, 2000.

Mr. Lott graduated form Amsterdam High School and served as a CPL in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War.
He attended the New York State Police Academy and retired as a sergeant with the New York State Police in Oneonta.
He was employed by the U. S. Marshall’s Office of Albany.

Gustav Hansen World War II veteran
Greenville—Gustav Hansen, 84, of Acra, died April 13, 2003 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
He was born Dec. 18, 1918 in Oslo. Norway, the son of the late Gustav A. and Marie (Evensen) Hansen.
Gustav served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II as a medic in the field in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland. He was awarded the Bronze Star in October 1944.
He worked for Singer Sewing Machine Co., working his way from sales to vice president. In 1972, he and his wife opened Tradesman Decorating Store in Cairo, retiring in 1992.
Gustav was recently predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Dorothea (Hackanson) Hansen. A brother and sister also predeceased him.
Surviving are his sons, Robert Hansen and his wife Carol of Freehold, and Raymond and his wife Edythe of Howell, N.J.; and grandchildren Greg, Erik, Christina and Kari Hansen.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cairo. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Oak Hill.

Carlton Moseman Martin Worked for New York Dept. Transportation
Prattsville—Carlton Moseman Martin, 84, a lifelong resident of Prattsville, NY, died on April 18, 2003 at St. Clares Hospital in Schenectady.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1918 to Carlos and Leona (Moseman) Martin in Little Westkill in the town of Prattsville.
Mr. Martin retired from the New York State Department of Transportation in 1980 after 37 years of service. His greatest pride and accomplishment were his children, grandchildren and his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Louise (Bloodgood) Martin, whom he married on Nov. 15, 1941. He is also survived by his children Dennis and daughter-in-law Debbie of Prattsville, Sandra and son-in-law Donald Meade of Middleburgh, Sharon and son-in-law Frank Clark of Delanson, and Diane and son-in-law Timothy Widenor of Schenectady.
He is the grandfather of Scott Meade and his wife Kate of Niskayuna, Sonya Meade and her fiancée Jamie Kikpole of Albany, and Chelsea Martin of Prattsville. He is the step-grandfather of Kerry Thorington and Erica Perry.
He is also survived by his great grandchildren Mackenzie, Hannah, Emily and Jordan Meade of Niskayuna.

Brother John performed the ministry of Provincial Tailor for his entire life as a friar. He set up his tailor shop in the following friaries: Good Council in Morgantown, W.Va.; Mt. Alvernia in Wappingers Falls, NY; St. Francis in East Cambridge, MA; St. Christopher in Boston, MA; and St. Anthony in Catskill, NY. His skill and competence as a tailor was attested to the friars of the many provinces.
John’s body will be waked at St. Anthony Friary in Catskill on Tuesday, April 22, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A wake service will be celebrated at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

Ashland—Thor Fristof Bostrom, 77, of Ashland, died at home on April 19, 2003 after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Vastra Amtervik, Sweden. His family moved to the United States when he was eight, and he grew up in East Orange, N.Y. He attended Cooper Union Institute of Art and Engineering in New York City. A veteran of World War II, he was a flight instructor in the Army Air Force.
An accomplished artist in painting, drawing and photography, he made a living as a freelance photographer in New York and San Francisco, taking pictures for advertisements for American Airlines, Volkswagon, Leica, Polaroid and may others. In addition, he worked as a studio assistant and photographer for the sculptor Reuben Nakian.
In 1988, he gave up his business in New York and moved to Ashland. Working part-time as an electrician and carpenter, he spent time and his paintings and drawings. He was active in the Greene County Council for the Arts and had numerous shows in the area. He taught watercolor and acrylic classed through the Windham Public Library.
He is survived by his wife Bie Bostrom; brothers Herbert and Paul Bostrom; sister-in-law Jan Bostrom of Jewett; children Leslie Bostrom, Christine Gold, Lee Mitchell and Thor Anders Bostrom; and 12 grandchildren.
There will be a retrospective show of his work at the Greene County Council on the Arts’ Mountain Top Gallery in Windham in August.

Hannacroix—Francis “Frank” C. McCarty, Jr., 68, formerly of Ravena and Hannacroix, passed away suddenly at his home in Naples, Fla., on April 23, 2003.
He was born in New York City on June 26,1934 and is the son of Elizabeth Gordian McCarty and the late Francis C. McCarty, Sr.
Frank was an area contractor and artist of Falling Waters.
Survivors include his wife Adele, his mother Elizabeth Gordian McCarty; daughters April and her husband Peter Koska of Pleasanton, CA. and Kathy and her husband Daniel Hildebrandt of New Baltimore; and son Frank and his wife Roxanne McCarty of Hannacroix. Also surviving are his sister Irene Scott and brothers Douglas and Eugene McCarty, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday April 30, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Coxsackie.
Calling hours will take place at the W. C. Brady’s Sons Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street in Coxsackie, on Tuesday, April 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Interment will take place in the family plot of the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Coxsackie.

Catskill—Jean Maher, 65, of Catskill, died Friday evening, April 25, 2003 at the Eden Park Health Care Facility in Catskill.
She was born July 1, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Frisby) Beirne.
Jean was a communicant at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Catskill, a member of the Catskill Lady Elks Auxiliary, Cairo American Legion #983, The R. I. P. S., Cairo Golden Age Club and St. Patrick’s Mothers Club.
Mrs. Maher was predeceased by her husband Thomas F. Maher, Sr. on June 26, 1983.
She is survived by her son Thomas F. Maher, Jr. of Havertown, Pa; bother All Beirne of Pearl River; grandson Thomas P. Maher of Havertown, Pa; and close friend Arthur Hasbrouck of Coxsackie.
Relative and friends may call at the Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights in Catskill, on Monday, April 28, 2003 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Officers and members of the Catskill Lady Elks Auxiliary will conduct services at 7:15 p. m. on Monday.

Blanche Johnson Lab Supervisor for Madison Square Garden
Earlton—Blanche Johnson, 93, of Earlton, died Saturday morning, April 26, 2003, at Columbia-Greene Long Term Care in Catskill.
She was born June 5, 1909 in Kinston, N. C., the daughter of the late William and Julia Speights Smith. She was married Feb. 26, 1931 in Manhattan to the late Charlie Johnson.
She was an area resident who moved her from Teaneck, N.J.
Mrs. Johnson had been employed
as a Lab Supervisor for Madison Square Garden from where she retired.
In addition, she was a self-employed licensed cosmetologist.
She was a member of the Eastern
Star and several other charitable organizations. She enjoyed and loved to sing
Gospel music.
Survivors include her sister, Dr. Annie Barrow, and her husband William of Earlton as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, N. Y.
There are no calling hours.

Stephen V. Lampman Employee of Lone Star Cement
Catskill—Stephen V. Lampman, 81, of Main Street in Leeds, died suddenly Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
He was born Aug. 12, 1921 in Manhattan, New York City, the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Krombholz) Lampman.
Mr. Lampman served in United State Army and was a veteran of World War II.
He was an employee of Lone Star Cement Company for over 33 years prior to his retirement.
Mr. Lampman was a member of both the Leeds and Catskill Boards of education from 1960 to 1970. He was a long time member of the Leeds Hose Company and the Greenville VFW Post.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ernestina Lampman of Leeds; a daughter, Susan Lampman of Leeds; a brother Arnold Lampman of Leeds; and several cousins.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. John J. Murphy, Pastor at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church of Catskill will be officiating.

59, of 28 Hollister Street in Coxsackie, passed away suddenly in Georgia on
April 24, 2003.
She was born in Coxsackie, NY on June 22, 1943 and is the daughter of Ruby (Stevens) Jump of Glens Falls, NY, and the late Harold Jump.
Barbara recently retired in September of 2002 from the New York State Department of Economic Development in Albany.
She was a lifetime resident of Coxsackie and she also loved knitting.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Eugene A. Millett of Coxsackie; son Eugene H. and wife Candi Millett of West Coxsackie; brother Frank Jump of Glens Falls, MY; sister Donna LeMere of Coxsackie; grand children Andrew M. Millett and Ashley R. Millett of West Coxsackie. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place at the W. C. Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street in Coxsackie, on Thursday May 1, 2003 at 10 a.m. Rev. Wendy Steed of the First United Methodist Church of Coxsackie will officiate.

Purling—Rebekah S. Stanquist, 39, of Joel Austin Road, Purling, died suddenly, Saturday, April 26, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident on Route 32 in the Town of Catskill.
She was born July 17, 1963 in
San Diego, California, the daughter of Jerome and Alice S. (Wallace) John of
Georgia.
She was a student at
Columbia-Green Community College at the time of her death.
She had been an area resident for 13 years and loved to do needle point, cooking an arts and crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald G. Stanquist, two sons, Jeremy and Phillip, two daughters, Brittany and Jessica all of Cairo, a brother, Stephen John, two sisters, Sarah Johnson and Mary Taylor all of Atlanta, Ga.
Calling hours will be conducted 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Richards Funeral Home, 383 Boss St., Cairo.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Rebecca’s father Rev. Jerome E. John will conduct his daughter’s funeral service.

Cairo—Grace M. Gregoire, 80, formerly of Warrenstein Road, Cairo, and of the Teresian House in Albany, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany.
She was born Oct. 27, 1922 in Brooklyn.
Prior to here retirement, she was employed by the American Thermostat in South Cairo.
She was a member of the Cairo Ladies Elks, and avid bowler, cook, and crocheter.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Nasso of Cairo, Carol Delbenie of New Jersey, and Elizabeth Watson of Earlton; two sons, Douglas Olsen of Staten Island, and Thomas Olsen of California; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gregoire was predeceased by her husband John, and a son Charles Olsen.
Calling hours will be conducted 1 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the Richards Funeral Home 383 Bross St., Cairo.
Funeral services will take place 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the funeral home, with Rev. Fr. J. Nunan, Pastor of the Sacred Heart Church of Cairo, officiating.

Robert Francis Sheridan Catskill resident
Robert Francis Sheridan, 64, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson where he hade been a patient since April 5.
Born June 21, 1938 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late James and Frances (Dorgen) Sheridan.
Mr. Sheridan lived in Catskill for 37 years and was previously from Brooklyn. Prior to moving to Catskill, he worked at a paper product manufacturing plat in Brooklyn.
Survivors include his wife Jane of Virginia; daughter, Darlene Sheridan of Brooklyn; sisters, Dolores Greco of Coxsackie, and Florence Dockray of Florida; brothers, John Sheridan of New Jersey, Thomas P. Sheridan of Catskill, and David Sheridan of New Jersey; girlfriend, Leona Isabele Bartholomew of Catskill; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Margaret Callahan, and brothers, James and Edward.

Medusa—Mildred M. McCafferty, 79, passed away April 29, 2003 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany.
She was born March 30, 1924 in New Baltimore, the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Mae (Hotaling) Mosley.
She was employed as a file clerk for the Pioneer Insurance Company for 25 years prior to her retirement. She was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Medusa and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Medusa Fire Company.
Mildred was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. She and her beloved husband Roy shared 55 loving years of marriage together.
Surviving are her husband Roy McCafferty of Medusa; daughters Sheila Hillicoss and her husband James of Coxsackie, Colleen Scott and her husband William III of Westerlo, and Kathleen Spinnato and her husband Salvatore III of Westerlo; as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister-in-law Mary Mosley of Elsmere, NY.
Mildred was predeceased by her brother Arthur Mosley and sisters Loretta Rose and Orvilla “Biddy” Rapp.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 2, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81 in Greenville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 1, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Interment will be in the Medusa Cemetery.

Saugerties—Randy Post, 43, of
Manorville Road, died on Sunday, April 27, 2003 as a result of injuries
sustained in an all-terrain vehicle accident.
Born July 8, 1959 in Catskill,
he was the son of Yvonne (Post) Knowles.
He was employed by Asplundh Tree Expert Company out of Pennsylvania. He was a 1977 graduate of Saugerties High School. A avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and riding. He has distinction of holding a New York state record for the largest deer shot in 2002.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather Lloyd Knowles, both of Freehold; son Randy A. Post of Saugerties; brother Ronald Post and sister Yvette (Missy) Dienos; as well as maternal grandmother Mary deStefani; and several nieces and nephews, all of Saugerties.
He was predeceased by his grandfather Alfred deStefani.
Funeral services will be at 9 a. m. on Thursday, May 1, 2003 at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Streets in Saugerties. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 30, at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The family suggests donation in his memory be made to a trust fund set up for his son, Randy, c/o Sawyer Savings Bank, 87 Market Street in Saugerties.
