On Auditing the Accounts of the Town of Cairo March 28th 1820 there was found on examination of the Poor Masters Accounts of Money paid out by them and contracts already made for the support of the Poor which is payable the 14th of April next and the accounts this day audited that the town will then be indebted about 20 dollars
Resolved, that it is the opinion of this Board that it is necessary to raise the sum of three hundred dollars for the support of the poor the ensuing year S. Sayre Town Clerk
Resolved, by this Board, That in future they will allow no Account against this town, of Physicians, Constables or others who have not been legally Authorized by the authority of this town, to make such account
To the Supervisor, Town Clerk, and Justices of the Peace of the town of Cairo County of Greene
The Commissioners of Highways submit the following report—
That the Amount of Labor assessed in this town in the year last past—is one thousand four hundred and eighty seven days, about one half only of the warrants have been returned to us—We have received no money arising from fines, or commutations the year past The improvements which have been made on the roads and Bridges are as usual excepting in Road District No. 25 where the roads have been much impaired, and three Bridges swept away, by a tremendous Rain Storm on the 26 day of July last, two of said Bridges have been built by the Inhabitants of the said District, and we estimate the probable expence of rebuilding the remaining one beyond what the usual assessment of labor will accomplish to be 20 dollars—Also District No 10 on which Nathan Rowley is Overseer, a Bridge was swept away, and part of his Road, for which we think proper to allow that District 5 dollars—
Also District No 7, Joel Curtis Overseer, the Bridge across the forge Creek is out of repair for which we think proper that, that District should be allowed five dollars
