NEW YORK STATE NEWSPAPERS

The  New York State Newspaper Project identifies, describes, preserves, and makes available to researchers the significant newspapers in all communities in New York State since the first publication in 1725.  This project was commenced several years ago and inventories were taken of the holdings of libraries, historical societies, and other repositories that own copies of New York State newspapers.  The site contains listings of newspapers that are held in repositories throughout the state as well as listings of the titles owned on microfilm by the New York State Library.  Microfilm copies owned by the New York State Library are available on inter-library loan to your local public library.
