In the name of God amen - I, James Prichard, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and that it is appointed for all men once to die and being of sound mind and memory (blessed be almighty God for the same) Do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say, First: I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Cornelia, the use and occupation of all my real and personal estate during the time she shall remain my widow or until my youngest child arrives at the age of sixteen years - And on the happening of either of the above events or in the case of the death of my said wife Cornelia before my youngest child arrives at the age of sixteen years then I will and order all my real and personal estate to be sold, first giving my wife Cornelia the best bed in the house and sufficient furniture for one Room.
And I do hereby further Will and order That the avails of my said real and personal estate after the sale thereof as above mentioned be disposed of in the following manner:
Item - I will and order that one thousand dollars thereof be put out on good land as security and the Interest thereof paid to my said wife Cornelia yearly during her natural life instead of her dower
Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Cornelia the wife of Nicholas Van Waganor the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to be paid her on the sale of the Real and personal estate
Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary the sum of three hundred and seventy five dollars to be paid her on the day of her marriage or of her attaining the age of twenty one years
Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Clarissa Ann the sum of three hundred and seventy five dollars to paid her on the day of her marriage or of her attaining the age of twenty one years
And as to all the rest and residue of the avails of the said Real and personal estate and all other my real and personal estate I give and bequeath unto my five sons James Prichard, Benjamin Prichard, William Prichard, Richard Lewis Prichard and Gilbert Prichard to be equally
divided among them share and share alike and to be paid them when they respectively arrive at the age of twenty-one years and it is my further Will that in the case of the Death of either of my above mentioned Children before marriage or arrive to the age of twenty one years That his or her portion respectively be divided among the surviving sons - And I do hereby further authorise my legal debts which I may owe at the time of my Decease from and out of my personal estate and effects - And I do hereby ordain constitute and appoint my friend Peter A. Schriver my executor and my beloved wife Cornelia Prichard my Executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made - In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirteen.

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named James Prichard to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testators Joseph A. Bostwick, Emanuel Russell, Stephen Hoyt
Dutchess County LL - Be it remembered on the fifteenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and fourteen personally appeared before me Philo Ruggles Surrogate of the said county Stephen Hoyt and Joseph A. Bostwick both of Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County who on oath declared that they did see James Prichard sign and seal the annexed written instrument purporting to be the will of the said James bearing the date the seventh day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirteen and heard him publish and declare the same as for his last Will and testament That at the time thereof he the said James was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of them the said Hoyt and Bostwick and that they the said Stephen Hoyt and Joseph A. Bostwick and Emanuel Russell severally subscribed the Will as witnesses thereto in the testator=s presence.

The people of the State of New York by the Grace of God Free and Independent - To all To whom these presents shall come on may concern send greeting. Know ye that at Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County on the fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen before Philo Ruggles Esquire Surrogate of our said county the last will and testament of James Prichard deceased/ a copy whereof is hereunto annexed/was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death Goods Chattels or Credits within this state by means whereof the proving and registering the said Will and the granting administration of all and singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us the administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased and anyway concerning his Will is granted unto Cornelia Prichard Executrix in the said will named she being first duly sworn will and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required.
In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed. Witness Philo Ruggles Esquire Surrogate of the said County at Poughkeepsie the eleventh day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen and of our Independence the thirty ninth.
