CLASSIFICATION: Historical Monument.
LOCATION: On the New York and Albany Post Road, about two miles south of Fishkill Village on the east side of the road.
CONDITION: In good order.
INSCRIPTION: Copied August 16, 1916, by Miss Helen W. Reynolds.
REMARKS: Monument erected in 1897 by Melzingah Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. During the War of the Revolution there was a military camp at Fishkill where many soldiers died from disease and hardship.
