CLASSIFICATION: Community ground.
LOCATION: At Fishkill Plains, on the farm of D. Remsen Robinson, on the west side of the main road north to La Grange.
CONDITION: Full of saplings; enclosed by a stone wall.
INSCRIPTIONS: 44 in number. Copied October 21,1912, by J. W. Pouchcr, M. D., and Miss Helen W. Reynolds.
REMARKS: This in one of the oldest burial places in the county of which traces now remain. It contains unmarked graves and graves marked by rough field stones without inscriptions. Dutch families from Long Island settled on Fishkill Plains in the seventeen-forties and fifties. The earliest date among these stones is 1752. The names on the stones, taken in connection with the deeds for land in the immediate vicinity indicate that this was a local neighborhood burial ground.
