Queries
Queries are a service provided to the members of the Central New York Genealogical Society. Members may submit Queries up to approximately 50 words. Queries will be posted on the CNYGS web site along with the contact information that you must provide.
If you are a member, and wish to send your Query to the Central New York Genealogical Society, please complete the attached form. Please be sure to include your full name and address, along with your membership number (an e-mail address to be included with your Query is optional, but encouraged). Do not use any abbreviations. Please type in complete sentences. One date and a New York geographical area must be included.
Please note that Queries are distinct from our Surname Project. Queries seek information from readers about a particular family in a specific location and time-period, often with more information that the person has found up to that point, as well as the focal point of their present search. The CNYGS Surname Project offers much less information than is usually included within a Query, since it is limited to only a name and location.
