1800 "D & E" Census Enumeration, Clinton County This transcript is set up in this way: the name of the HEAD OF FAMILY is given, last name first, in alphabetical order - followed by the TOWN and PAGE on which his entry is to be found - followed by the figures of his ENTRY to be interpreted by counting the placement of the figure and getting the column title below. The town abbreviations used are: Cm. = Champlain pages 1078 - 1083 Pr. = Peru pages 1041 - 1059 Pl. = Plattsburgh pages - 1060 - 1072 Cy. = Chattaugay pages 1073 - 1077 At this time, all the present towns of the county were included within the bounds of these five townships. To determine in which township a present town lay in 1810, check under Clinton County in French's GAZETTEER OF NEW YORK STATE (1860).
