By the early 1910’s it was apparent to many that the private cemetery arrangement was not working satisfactorily. A committee formed which obtained Quit Claims from the original owners, or their heirs, and organized the Ivory Cemetery Association, in 1914. The organization elected officers, who arranged for grave digging, lawn mowing, and general upkeep. As of 1983, the cemetery has not been incorporated.
In the 1960’s, the Association received two gifts of adjacent property, from Wallace Fenton and Mrs. Gladys Warn.
This cemetery was read by Harold D. Munson of Frewsburg, NY in 1983.
