From 1996Memories, of the Thousand Islands Sun, by the gracious permission of Jeanne Snow, editor. This McIntyre view of Summerland Island shows what were then he McFarlin, Smith and Wisner cottages, left to right, and the Summerland yacht. The center cottage may have been the oldest building on the island, built in 1879, but no longer exists. A boathouse now sits in the vicinity of the old gazebo. The cottages faced the main channel of the St. Lawrence River, now the Seaway.
