DISTRICT NUMBER 11
was called the Gore District and is located on a road which goes to Omar. This seems to be a rough, hilly part of the town, but a good farming area. The schoolhouse is long gone.

The District Superintendent, Mr. D.D. Marshall, reported of it in 1912:
Lucina J. Hagan, LaFargeville, TTC, $9.00
5 pupils registered, attendance averages 5.
Planned repairs to building not done all year.
Mar 12, 1912:
Margaret Knell, LaFargeville, $9.00, 4 terms.
4 pupils registered, average attendance 3
Andrew McVeigh, trustee. Valuation: $19,100, rate .60
Grades 1, 3, 4, 6.
6 windows, 4 3/4 x 2 2/3.

From a tiny notebook, copied from Notes from Reports of School districts in Town of Alexandria to Supervisor, 1856-1877 in possession of Clifford Schryver [of Omar?] Supervisor was Gurnee [Greene?] part of time. In front note from Geo. H. Strough School Com 3rd district Jefferson County to Andrew Cornwell, Esq. June 27th 1864.
1866: No. 11 was old 23
