THE DOLLINGER HOTEL, REDWOOD
The Dollinger House, a Redwood hotel, was built in 1836 by Poneratus Dollinger, a native of France, who came to the United States almost a score of years before that, and it was a favorite stopping place during stagecoach days. Owned and operated by the Dollinger family for nearly 100 years and razed in 1941, it was built of stone with walls three feet thick and hand hewn beams. In later years the inn catered to the summer resort trade of persons visiting Butterfield and other lakes of the Redwood-Theresa country.
