From 1995 Memories of the Thousand Islands Sun, by the gracious permission of Jeanne Snow, editor. This issue from the collection of the Thousand Island Museum, courtesy of Janet Collins, librarian. This photo, dated 1899, was captioned in a scrapbook, "Miller's house, lower end of American Deer Island." Deer Island, next to the American Channel of the Seaway, is a large island and had more than one residence. This picture must have been taken from a house top on neighboring Lotus Land, just down river from Deer Island.
