From 1990Memories of the Thousand Islands Sun, by the gracious permission of Jeanne Snow, editor. This issue from the collection of the Thousand Island Museum, courtesy of Janet Collins, librarian. This A.C. McIntyre Thousand Islands view shows the first cottage on Calumet Island, opposite Clayton, ca. 1886. The property was owned by Calumet Kendall Fitzgerald of Clayton. The cottage shown was later replaced by a stone castle, which was destroyed by fire in the 1950s.
