TOWN OF ALEXANDRIA

ICING ON THE ST. LAWRENCE RIVER

This photo accompanied the current newsclip. READY TO HARVEST--Ice is shown moved into the loading canal from the main field during this winter's ice harvest at Alexandria Bay. Floating cakes in the foreground jam up. The ice slide is loaded and ready to be hauled onto a truck by the station wagon rigged up to block and tackle with "dead men" sunk into the ice and out of the picture. On the ice are Louis Perry, Donald Paige, and George Constantine. Lewis Slate is loading the truck while "Pete" Farrell operates the station wagon.
