Founded in 1892, the United States Daughters of 1812 is a non-profit women's service organization for descendants of patriots who aided the American cause in the War of 1812. The Hampton Roads Chapter of the United Daughters of 1812 was organized on Saturday, June 14, 1986, in Norfolk, Virginia. The meeting was called to order by the president, Madeline Williams. The State President Mrs. Harry H. Black presented the charter to the chapter.
