My great-great grandmother, Lucy Matilda Thompson Gause Kenney, was born in November 21,1842 and died June 22, 1925. She is seen here with my great-grandfather, Joseph Patrick Kenney. Lucy served as Private "Bill Thompson" in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. The articles at these web sites tell the story with some embellishments, the most noted being her age exaggeration. Lucy was 83 when she died, not 112!
