The Bureau of Land Management shows that Elk Creek in currently under Lake Anna near the border between Hanover Co and Louisa Co. (We had concluded some time ago that this "John" was really James 2 and the name was a mistake or a nickname. This because of the area of the land and the date in which this takes place. (There are no John Nuckols' available at this time.)

David Bell and George Bell appeared in the lists in January 1731. It is believed that they were two sons. They were living in the same precinct as Capt Winston. It would seem that it was the same family of Bell, and likely the son, , David, who owned land on the lower side of Beaver Dam Swamp in Hanover Co, adjacent to Robert Webb, William Clopton and �u�James Nuckolls�/u� in August 1725.

Witnesseth that the said ALEXANDER NUCKOLLS for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred seventy three dollars current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said THORNTON GIBSON the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged, they the said ALEXANDER NUCKOLLS & NANCY his wife, have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said THORNTON GIBSON AND HIS HEIRS FOREVER A CERTAIN TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND LYING AND BEING IN THE County of Louisa, containing by a late survey the quantity of one hundred and twelve acres, be the same more or less, and is designated as l ot No 6 which was drawn by the said ALEXANDER NUCKOLLS in the division of the land of his father THOMAS NUCKOLLS deceased, and bounded as foll ows, to wit: Beginning at a pine corner of ROBERT SMITH, thence south seventy six and a half degrees west forty poles to a corner with said SMITH and JOHN BURROS, thence South seventeen and a half degrees west two hundred and thirty five pole to our oak on the road, thence down the road as it meanders one hundred and twenty six pol es to an old oak and corner with AUSTIN HANCOCK thence north five degrees (there is a note here by Ardath that she needs to get page 2 of this deed) this paper also found in file with no page 1.
