[6965] This indenture made this __ day of __in the year 1844, between Caroline M Graham, (formerly Caroline M Jarrett), Nimrod E Jarrett and his wife Jabez B Sorwell (sic) and Amanda J his wife (formerly Amanda Jarrett); Archibald Todd and Mary E Todd, his wife (formerly E Jarrett), Daniel K Jarrett, William H Jarrett, the children and legal representatives of William N Jarrett dec'd of the first part and George McNeely of the second part, ____said the said parties of the first part and ___side ration of six hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of which they do hereby acknowledge and granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey and confirm unto the George McNeely, his heirs and assigns forever all the right title claim and interest by the said parties of the first part now have or in any event may hereafter have of, in and to the estate real and personal ___of the said William N Jarrett dec'd and also any and all the right , title, interest and claim that they, the said parties of the first part may be entitled to in the estate real personal and ____ of Mary Jarrett, the widow of the said William N Jarrett, dec'd after the natural lifetime of the said Mary Jarrett. To have and to hold the above described promises with the appertences to the same belonging or in any case appertaining to the only proper use benefit of him the said George McNeely his heirs and assigns. And the said parties of the first part for themselves and their heirs do covenant to and with the said George McNeely his heirs and assigns that they the parties of the first part shall forever warrant, secure, and defend the above described premesis to the said George McNeely his heirs and assigns agianst the claim or claims of all and every person or persons claiming by, through or under then the said parties of the first part or their heris but against no other claim whatsoever. Monongalia Co, WV Deed Book OS p339 Delivered to McNeely Feb 25, 1846 (NOTE):Their mother Mary, who was the widow of William N. George McNeely is not mentioned as a relative but I know that their mother, Mary Kiger was first married to Hugh McNeely by whom she had several children. She next married William Norris Jarrett in Morgantown WV (then VA) on or about 28 May 1805. According to tombstones in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Morgantown, WNJ died 2 Nov 1839 and Mary Jarrett died 6 Jul 1845 aged 75. This deed was presented to the county clerk and recorded 20 Jan 1846. At that time it had been acknowledged as valid by all the children EXCEPT Nimrod and his wife. This suggests to me that Nimrod had died by this time
