Methodist Church Burkburnett Texas,

Organized 1907 By Rev. F. L. McGeehee, With thirteen members. It was organized in a home on 6th street. And 1908 built the first frame church. The First Sermon was preached by Dr H. A. Boaz, now Bishop. Mr & Mrs Majors and family; J.B. Evans and Family; and Mrs H.C. Creath were the first members.

Mr. Burk Burnett a pioneer gave $100.00 and Mr. J.G. Hardin a pioneer gave $100.00, about $60.00 was made up at Wichita Falls also, and the Burkburnett membership made up the balance of the cost of the church which was about $1000.00 and paid it out in several years.

The Burkburnett Church now has a membership of 555 at the present time, and they are in a nice brick church costing some $40,000.00 and is paid out in full. This church was built in 1925.
