Grace, Jacksboro
L.E. "Pete" Grace, a former Texas Ranger and ex-mayor of Jacksboro, died Saturday in Wichita Falls. Services were held Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Martin Howell officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Grace was born Sept. 27, 1922 in Blum, Texas. He and Margie Jones were married June 29, 1940 in Oklahoma. He was a member of the Memorial Christian Church. He was an independent oil and gas producer and owner of Grace Industries, Inc. He was a veteran of World War II and served as mayor of Jacksboro. He was a Texas Ranger and the director of the Jacksboro National Bank and Polypipe Industries in Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include two sisters, Louise Schlitter of Jacksboro and Charlsie Marie Ryser of Chandler, Ariz; two sons, Bob of Los Alamos, N.M. and Mike of Plano, Texas; and four grandchildren.
