Friday 10th - General Meeting & Guest Speaker
Guest Speaker: Jo Henwood was our guest speaker at this our first general meeting for the year. She is a member of the NSW Dickens Society and also the Australian Bronte Association. Jo gave an illuminating talk (with a little gossip from the 1820s) on the Macarthur/King family. Jo is also a member of the Australian Storytellers Association and has several lectures coming up next month at the WEA in Sydney.

Saturday 18th - Street Stall
The Society held a street stall in the grounds of the Presbyterian Church on Saturday, 18th February, 2017.
It was quite satisfactory from two points, one that we managed to sell a lot of the items we had in our storage facility with the exception of a number of books and two, the Society made a grand total of $187.00 which we would not otherwise have had.
Thank you to those members who gave up their time and helped on the morning.

Friday 10th - General Meeting & Guest Speaker
Our Guest Speaker was John Howells from the Lancer Museum at Parramatta and we were entertained and informed through his interesting talk. One of our members took up John’s offer of a look up of an ancestor who had been in the Boer War, the Light Horse WWI or the First Armoured Regiment WWII as mentioned in the February Newsletter and was happy to receive information on the medals awarded for the Boer War. John's knowledge of the Lancers and their history in those varied conflicts was most extensive and gave all present much background for our ancestors' involvement.
