WADE, Gerald Allison - 72, Prince Albert, passed away August 19, 2005, in Margaretsville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Archie Fales and Gertrude Wade. He enjoyed walking his dog, the outdoors and working in his garage. He is survived by his wife, Jennie (Saulnier); daughter, Darlene Wade-Nicholson, Fredericton N.B.; sons, Kenneth, Prince Albert; Allan, Bridgewater; David, New Brunswick; Darrell, Dartmouth; and grandson, Kelton. He was predeceased by sons, Arthur and Gordon. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, with a funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, both in Middleton Funeral Home, Pastor Jeff Sears officiating. WELTON, Cecil Neily - 84, Tremont, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 1989 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Tremont, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Neily) Welton. He attended Truro Agricultural College and farmed until his retirement. He was a member of the Federation of Agriculture and was a deacon and choir member of Tremont United Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Lillian Marshall; a daughter, Madelyn (Mrs. James Mounteer), Louisanna; three sons, Richard, London, Ont.; Kenneth, Truro; Beverley, Lower Sackville; seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Carl. The body rested in the Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Funeral was held Sunday, Oct. 15 in Tremont United Baptist Church, Rev. WELTON, Mrs. Lemuel - After a lengthy illness there passed away at her home in Kingston Village on Thursday, October 7, Marietta, wife of Lemuel Welton, at the age of 75 years. Besides her husband she leaves three brothers, Johnston Neily and Reginald Neily of Tremont and Howard Neily of Kingston Village. There is one granddaughter, Marietta Bowlby. Mrs. Welton was a member of the Baptist church and her sweet Christian character made friends of all who knew her. The funeral was held on Friday from her home, where Rev. J. B. Daggett conducted the service. Rev. J. J. Sidey had charge of the burial service at Tremont cemetery. The Register, Berwick, NS published Wednesday, 13 October 1938

WHEATON, Elwood Budrow "Woody" � age 90, of Windsor, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2009, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on June 21, 1919, in Harbourville, Kings Co., he was the son of the late Charles and Alice (Foley) Wheaton. Woody was a former farmer in Berwick for many years, he also worked with CKF Inc. and with the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Canadian Army (1940-46) and was a member of Hants County Branch No.009, Royal Canadian Legion. Woody enjoyed country music and dancing. He is survived by his sisters, Vera Geddes, Dartmouth; Ruth Chandler, Cape Breton; Pauline Jordan, Berwick; brother, Arthur, Grafton; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Woody was predeceased by his sister, Helen Bosworth; brothers, Aubrey, William "Bill", George and Joseph. He was also predeceased by an infant sister and brother. Hants County Branch No.009, will hold a Legion tribute, 6:45 p.m. today in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor, followed by visitation from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Terry Coldwell officiating with interment in Burlington Cemetery, Burlington, Kings Co. at 3:45 p.m. Halifax Herald

WHITE (Corkum), Marguerite "Evelyn" - 71, Kentville, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005, in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Coldbrook, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late James and Virthue "Mae" (Balsor) Corkum. She was a member of the Kingsway Assembly Pentecostal Church, Kentville. She enjoyed going to the "50 plus" gatherings. Evelyn is survived by daughters, Dorothy MacInnis (Darren Murphy), Kentville; Sharon (Sterling) Pelton, Waterville; Donna (Harold) Corkum, Scotts Bay; Carrie White, Waterville; Shirley Donahue, Ontario; son, David White, Waterville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Elijah "Perry" White; an infant daughter, Betty; grandson, Bruce Pelton; sister, Alma. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, Rev. Robert Cross officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery, Church Street, Port Williams. Memorial donations may be made in care of the family. In Aug.11th, 2005 issue of Chronicle Herald, Halifax.

WOOD, Bertha Marjorie � 87, of Kentville, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Upper Canard, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Martha (Coldwell) Eaton. She trained as a hair dresser and worked for the former Paterson's Beauty Salon, Kentville. She later dedicated her life to her husband and her home. She is survived by a sister, June Porter, Kentville; grandchildren, Racquel Wood, Calgary and Clinton Wood, Edmonton; great-grandchildren, Travis and Ryan; special niece, Sandra Barkhouse, Church Street, Kings County; several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Laurie Wood and a son, Wayne. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, Rev. Dr. Peter Lohnes officiating. Burial will take place in Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or First Cornwallis Baptist Church, Canard, Kings Co. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. WOOD, John Kenneth "Jack" - 89, formerly of Coldbrook, Kings Co., passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005, in the Veterans' Unit of Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Coldbrook, he was a son of the late John and Ethel (West) Wood. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was later partnered with his brother, owning and operating Wood Brothers Sawmill in Coldbrook. In 1972, he worked with his children as they opened the family business, the Anvil Beverage Room, Wolfville. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his wife, the former Hazel Hubley, Kentville; daughter, Margaret "Margie" Wood, New Minas; son, Ken (Christine), Kentville; grandson, Ryan, Kentville; brother, Fenwick "Fen", Coldbrook; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Durno and Frances Weber; brother, George. There will be no visitation by family request. A combined Royal Canadian Legion remembrance service and funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 12, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating. Burial will take place in Cambridge Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request.
