EATON, Mrs. Edward - There passed away at Kingston, on Sunday, Oct. 1st, in the seventy-fifth year of her age, Rebecca, wife of Edward Eaton, Esq., and daughter of the late Rev. Abram Stronach. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband and five children. Three of these, Fred S. Eaton, Rev. Chas. E. Eaton, and Mrs. Fred Goucher in Massachusetts. The others are Mrs. H. M. Harris, of Margaretville, and Mrs. H. C. Armstrong, of North Kingston. Brothers and sisters, and friends innumerable also mourn her departure. In the passing of Mrs. Eaton a most estimable character, faithful wife, mother, and true friend, has been removed from our midst. She was converted at the early age of fourteen during the pastorate of her father and continued, to the close of her life an earnest Christian, providing her belief in the religion of her great Master by her winning words and consistent daily walk. She was ever a friend to the poor and needy, and one with whom it was a pleasure to come in contact. From the home in which she was so happy and the community which knew and loved her, she will be greatly missed. There is abundant reason for belief that her precept and example have been blessed to the good of others in such measure that we may apply to her these words of sacred promise, "They that be wise shall shine, as the brightness of the firmament and they that turn many to righteousness, as the stars forever and ever." "There, where no tears are known, no pain nor sorrow Safe beyond Jordan's roll; She lives forever with her blessed Jesus, The lover of her soul." The Register, Berwick, Nova Scotia published 2 November 1911

She went to Marlboro, Mass., where most of her married life was spent. After her husband's death she made her home with her sister, Glennie, Mrs. O. B. Falls, of Richmond, Virginia. She suffered a stroke some time ago, and since had been an invalid. While in Berwick, she was active in the work of the Baptist Church, and a member of the choir, and she continued actively engaged in church work wherever she lived.
