MRS R.M.JOHNSON Bertha Maude JOHNSON , widow of the late Rev. Roy M. JOHNSON died at Barton , Sunday . Born at Gulliver's Cove , she was the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Alice CORNWELL HINES. She was a graduate of the Cincinnati Bible College and of the University of Spokane . She was a school teacher. Her husband held pastorates in the United States and Western Nova Scotia.She was a member of the South Range Christian Church and because of her generosity , the Johnson Christian Park was established at South Range. She is survived by a sister Minnie [Mrs A. I. MILLAR] of Edmonton . Funeral service was on Wednesday 2pm. at the South Range Christian Church. Rev. J. W. DERBY conducted the service and interment was at South Range.

Freeport's oldest resident, Benjamin CAMPBELL passed away on Wednesday, July 26th, 1967 at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Watson CROCKER. Mr Campbell was Born in Freeport, 103 years ago, a son of the late Benjamin and Julia (TEED) CAMPBELL. Surviving are two daughters, (Myrtle) Mrs. Walter FLOYD, Central Grove, (Violet) Mrs. Alton MACNEIL, Freeport, a sister Mrs. Lena ROBINSON, Florida, four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Afternoon funeral was held Saturday from the Freeport United Baptist Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. IDESON, assisted by Rev. J.W. DERBY. The floral pieces were many, showing the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Internment was in Brookside Cemetery.

Born in Freeport , seventy -five years ago , the son of the late Esther [THURBER ]and Leslie STEVENS, he resided in Freeport until he moved to Port Maitland over forty years ago. Surviving arehis wife, the former Helen DELANEY of Central Grove,a daughter Alta,[Mrs Charles BAIN ]Sanford, three grandchildren ,one great grandchild ;five sisters ;Goldie [Mrs James DOANE] Newton , Upper Falls Mass, Grace [Mrs Charles SWAN ]Florida; Inez [Mrs Albert MOORE ]of Westport , Gertrude [Mrs Everett SPRAKER ]Melrose Mass. and Cornelia [Mrs William MAXWELL] Saugus Mass . Two brothers Percy and Charles pre-deceased him. Funeral service was held on Sunday afternoon from Sweeney's Funeral Home. Interment was in Port Maitland

Miss Bertha CORNWALL, R. N., formerly of Berwick, passed away December 30, 1967, at The Palms of Pasadena Hospital, St. Petersburg, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Cornwall and his first wife, and was born at Little River, Digby Co., 86 years ago. She trained for a nurse at the Massachusets General Hospital, Boston, and during the first World War served overseas with the American Nurse Corps, and was awarded the French War Cross. After the war she was supervisor of nurses at several hospitals in the Eastern United States. Prior to her death she was residing at the Colonial Park Nursing and Convalescent Centre, St. Petersburg, Florida. She is survived by two half-brothers Ivan CORNWALL, Berwick and Harry CORNWALL, Port Credit, Ont., also a number of nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one brother Charles. Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the Wilhelm, Thurston Funeral Home, St. Petersburg, Floida, followed by cremation. The ashes were interred in the United States Government National Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Florida.

Joseph B. COMEAU, a lifelong resident of Belliveau's Cove, passed away at his residence on Thursday, Feb. 1st after a lingering illness. He was 75 years old, the son of the late Benjamin COMEAU and Jeanne BELLIVEAU. He is survived by his wife, the former Ethel TRAHAN, one son, Gerald with whom he resided; three daughters, dora, Mrs. Leger BELLIVEAU of St. Bernard; Lucie, Mrs. Charles DOUCET, Annie, Mrs. William COMEAU, both of Belliveau's Cove; one sister Helene, Mrs. Joseph DOUCET, of Weymouth; two brothers, Hilarion of this village and Irenee of Mystic, Conn.; also ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held in St. Bernard's R.C. Church on Sunday afternoon. Monsignor E. LeBlanc officiating.

Mrs. Alberta B. DAKIN - Mrs. Alberta B. DAKIN, Berwick, 80, passed away at Ward's Nursing Home, Aylesford, early Tuesday morning. Born at Lakeside, Digby County, she was the daughter of Chipman and Amret (MOREHOUSE) COSSABOOM. She received her schooling at Lakeside and in 1911, married Boyd A. DAKIN, and they resided in Berwick. She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church and the Church Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, one son Glendon, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are four sister, Anstice (Mrs. A. M. NIX), Hueneme, California; Ada (Mrs. Melvin NIX), Scott's Village; Mildred (Mrs. Will NIX), Mosherville, N.S.; June (Mrs. Joe DEFALCO), Waltham, Mass. She was predeceased by one son Allison, who was killed while serving overseas, with the RCAF, during World War II. Funeral services will be held at H. C. Lindsay's Funeral Home, Berwick, today (Thursday), at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Douglas CARLIN will officiate. Interment in Berwick Cemetery.

Mrs. Lola EATON, wife of Dr. Frank H. EATON of Blomidon, passed away at the Eastern Kings Memorial Hospital, Wolfville on Friday. Born at Freeport 78 years ago, she was the daughter of Herbert and Althea (THURBER) CAMPBELL. She attended school at Freeport and later taught school at Freeport, Central Grove,Sissiboo Falls and Culloden, prior to her marrige in 1915 to Rev. Frank H. EATON. Thoughout her lifetime she lived in various places in the province where her husband had pastorates, including Canning, Bridgewater, and Wolfville, and in 1952 they moved to Blomidon where they have since resided. She always took an active part in the church and community life in each pastorate and at the time of her death was a member of the Channing Baptist Church, W.M.S., Pereau Ladies Auxilliary and the Blomidon Women's Institute. Dr. and Mrs EATON celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1965. Surviving besides her husband are: one daughter Jean (Mrs. Dr. J.M.R. BEVERIDGE), Wolfville, one son, Keith E., Ottawa: nine grandchildren: four sisters, Lexena (Mrs. Melbourne CROCKER, Freeport and Florida; Nina (Mrs. F. STEWART), Florida and Maine; Alma, (Mrs Arthur DELANEY, New Hampshire; Elsie (Mrs. Carl NEWELL), Freeport and Florida; two brothers, Kingsley, Mass; and Cyril, Mass. She was predeceased by one brother, Kenneth. The late Mrs. EATON rested at the H.C.Linsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville, and was taken to the Pereau Baptist Church for funeral service, Monday afternoon at 2:30 Rev. Robert CHILDS assisted by Dr. M.R. CHERRY officiated. Interment was in the Canard Corner Cemetery.

Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. Her body rested at Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby NS until today ,when funeral service will be held from Grace United Church, Digby at 2pm. Rev. R.H. Hughes will conduct the service . He will be assisted by Dr. T.W.Hodgson. Interment will be in the United Church Cemetery , Digby NS

Lr. Saulnierville � It is with regret we announce the death of Mrs. Ernestine COMEAU, 79. After a lengthy illness, Mrs. COMEAU passed away at the Villa St. Joseph, Yarmouth, on August 22. Her husband, Arcade COMEAU, passed away in December, 1968. She leaves to mourn her three children, Rev. Father Leger COMEAU, Superior at Holy Heart Seminary in Halifax, Mrs. Julius COMEAU, Meteghan; Mrs. Leonard COMEAU, Comeauville; two brothers, Charles COMEAU and Camille COMEAU; also three sisters, Mrs. Desire COMEAU, Mrs. Danny GERBERVILLE and Mrs. J. B. GAUDET. Funeral services were held at Saulnierville Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Comeau's son officated at the services, and Msgr. A. BURKE, Bishop of Yarmouth, presided the �Absoute�. Pallbearers were her two brothers and four nephews, Hubert and Andre COMEAU of Ottawa, Gilbert COMEAU of Montreal and Mederic COMEAU of Halifax.
