Pte. ARTHUR LESLIE - 901,957 A. Company, 42 Battalion B.E.F. Canadians France wrote a letter of the Members of the Oxford Red Cross Society thanking them for the sweater and sox received.

OBIT - SHERMAN RUSHTON
The funeral of SHERMAN RUSHTON who was electrocuted last Thursday as stated in another column, was held at the home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. WOODBURY RUSHTON on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Being taken away at the early age of 14 years and under such sad
circumstances there was a very large attendance of sympathizing
relatives and friends, present.
Pastor HAYDEN conducted the service and made a comforting address to the bereaved ones in the loss of their son and brother. Following are the floral tributes:

Young Man Instantly Killed in Mill
An accident attended with fatal results occurred at Hantsport when HARRY ROLPH, son of Mr. JOHN ROLPH was instantly killed. He was employed in mill of Farquhar & Porter, shipbuilders, and was sawing a knee for a vessel, when he was struck by a piece of the metal with which he was working.

MARRIED - MacLACHLAN - BIRD
A very pretty but quiet wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. & Mrs. J. E. BIRD, Nappan Station at 5 o'clock last Tuesday, when their daughter VERA VALENTINE, was united in marriage to WILLIAM RHIND MacLACHLAN of Marble Mountain, C.B.

At St. Matthews' Manse, Wallace on Tuesday the 12th inst. by Rev. J. W. BRITTON, James WEATHERBEE of Tatamagouche and SADIE B. CHAMBERS of Wallace Ridge.

BORN
On March 17th to Mr. & Mrs. TOM BLACK, Little River, a daughter.
At Oxford on March 22nd to Mr. & Mrs. Wm. D. THOMPSON, a son.

DIED
At Wallace Station, on Saturday, March 19th, ANGUS McLEAN, aged 84 years.

At Dewar River, March 5th, Mrs. JANE WILSON, widow of the late JAMES CANFIELD, aged 100 years.

At Amherst on Sunday, March 24th, Mrs. FRANCES JENKS.

** At Allston, Mass., Mrs. JESSIE CAMERON, widow of the late JAMES CAMERON and daughter of Mrs. CATHERINE CAMERON of North Shore, Cumberland Co. N.S.
